Yeah, it was time to run. "Go, go," Paul hissed by way of order to Marco and then set off at an insane pace right beside the building. It wasn't all that far to the scrub, and there was no way even someone like the Acolyte could effectively get there to stop him. Okay, that was exaggeration. But it would take an Acolyte to catch him at this point. People wouldn't see him. He hoped.

He dove into the brush.

Large amounts of clanging came from within the "abandoned" warehouse.

--

It worked. The man was trapped halfway under a chair, and his spine snapped beneath Joe's attack.

Marco seemed to have disappeared.

Still not taking any chances, Joe began to pump incredible amounts of fire out the soles of his feet.
The Djinn had said FIRE, hadn't he?

The man was a scorch mark against the ground by the time Joe was done.

In retrospect, not much chance of interrogation now.

((Fixed.))

((Uhh...I'll assume that means "the time Joe was done."))

Joe stepped off the man's charred corpse and picked up the other device. He looked it over briefly, then turned to see Jacob holding the other one. With a shrug, he tossed it over to Jacob.
"Keep me covered, just in case," Joe said. "There's something I need to do."
He made his way to the cockpit, took a deep breath, and sat down in the pilot's chair. He began to pull as hard as he could on the controls, trying to get them up.
At the same time, he did the truly hard part. He gathered all of his mana together and began to shape the wind into a gradient that would allow them to slide slowly to the ground. The sheer amount of focus and energy was already taking its toll after only a few seconds.
He gritted his teeth and continued. He had to save these people.

Jacob caught the device in his other hand. He nodded and followed Joe to the cockpit. He kept watch over Joe as he tried to level the plane.
If Joe couldn't level the plane before long, Jacob would take the other controls and assist.

Joe could guess what his friend was thinking. "You...can't...help this time," Joe grunted. "This is...gonna take...a lot more...than what you got."
The veins in Joe's neck were bulging and his eyes were clamped shut. His jaw continued to clench and unclench.
"Just...make sure...that guy...doesn't come back."

((Joe, Jacob's thinking about helping mechanically, commercial airplanes are designed with two control yokes so two people can control it.))

((Yes, I'm aware of that. Joe knows what he was thinking and saying that it would be a better idea for him to keep a lookout.))

Paul decided that it was probably clear; there was just noise, but he wasn't getting up yet. He started crawling through the bushes, wondering where the eff Marco had gone. His iPod was prepped, but so was Athena; it was clear he was going to need both.

Paul felt a pinpoint mana p***k between his eyes. If he followed it, he would find that Marco was crouched on the roof of the factory. How he had gotten up there was a mystery.

Paul nodded slowly, then turned his iPod up there, set it to Earth Grapple, and launched a hook. It went over the edge of the roof then locked into the top, very securely, and Paul started climbing up, hand over hand with his feet on the wall.

Once he was almost up, Marco grabbed his wrist and hefted him up to onto the roof with no apparent effort other than a slight, "Hmph!"

((Yeah, that's what I meant. Edited it. I'm sick with a fever of at least 100'F and I'm a bit dizzy, so... yeah.))

((Drink lots of water!
Any news for Joe?))

Joe's head felt as though it was splitting, and even with his eyes closed he saw bright white light. But he refused to give up, knowing that the people behind him would die if he didn't do something.
He was clenching the controls so hard that his hands hurt. Every muscle in his body was tensed and twisted to the max as Joe focused his mana even more. He had never realized that he had so much, and now he was using his own body as the focus to shape it.
The plane's angle of descent began to flatten out.
