Kara frowned. She hates it when people do that. She follows Core to Central Park so she can meet up with the others. Who knows maybe even Sarah will be there.((Exit to Central Park))

(( Response to Matt and Valkyries posts from Las Noches. ))
Naturally Meredith wasn't about to stand by and allow an innocent to be harmed simply because she was disgusted and appauled by her hunter's conduct. Unfortuantely she was going to have to leave the two there for a moment while she quickly took care of the group of vampires. Her intervention was swift, swift enough that it had been in a matter of gracefully timed moments. She had shot off the side of the roof, choosing to land on top of one vampire that'd been about to shoot his rifle while she'd brought both her guns out in order to waste another two vampires as she landed on top of the third's shoulders, cracking them with the force of her fall. As for the last two they were done as soon as she'd landed on top of the third's shoulders and she was swift to pass judgement on the one she'd landed on as well, sending her final UV bullet into his skull. Her guns had possessed silencers so no noise was heard from anyone but for those with well tuned hearing and that of the drunken citizen.
She'd coaxed the citizen and had brought them to a sidewalk, having called a cab for them and the HISSS team had made quick work of what was left of the vampires as Meredith returned to the rooftops to further criticize her hunters' conduct. "If you are going to kill someone you will not toy with them and play with them like they are objects. If you're protecting someone, that is fine but I never want to see you toying with your prey like you two were back there. This IS NOT a game. You are to take your duties seriously and treat your enemies with the amount of respect they very well might not show you. I WILL NOT tolerate you defiling corpses and feeding upon them as though you are vampires. You are hunters, not barbarians and you should be ashamed."
Meredith's tone had changed from nonchalant to one of digust and anger. It was hard for her to believe that they'd been so careless and so bitter in their killing. "If you are unable to hunt by proper standards and treat your enemies with some decency then you're off the hunters list. I'm Meredith Jackson, lead hunter of the New York sect and I'm not going to tolerate anymore of this bullshit. If you're killing to protect you do your job in the quickest, most painless fashion and go about your business. This is not some game where you bide your time to see if you can draw a reaction out of them or whatever the f--k you were waiting for. Do you understand m-"
She was about to say something further when a familiar scent caught her attention and she seemed to freeze altogether upon detecting it. Her jaw clenched and she swallowed rather hard and turned away from the two hunters she was disciplining to locate and confirm that she was smelling what she thought she was smelling. Veroen? Surely that wasn't who she was smelling was it? Did she dare to hope that he had not abandoned her and that he had not been killed? Hope was not something she'd really had time for lately and she found herself hoping this wasn't some cruel joke on someone elses part. She found herself unable to bear the thought and she soon found herself abandoning the two hunters in order to search for him. "Veroen?" She asked quietly as she searched the alleyway for him and then realized he was staring right at her. Within an instant she was in front of him embracing him with a lot more strength than she'd possessed before, probably close to crushing him as she'd temporarily forgotten to control her strength.

He was completely in a trance from staring at this female Lycan. He heard her mention something about being a hunter, and and yelling at the other two Lycans, but none of that clicked in his mind. All he could do was just gaze at her, with his mind running laps in the inside of his head. Even as she gracefully killed the other Vampires, he did nothing but stare at her. As she yelled at them again after killing the Vampires, he snapped out of it, realizing that she just destroyed the Vampires. Just as he realized this, she jumped down in front of him, and embraced him with a strong vice grip. He was utterly confused, until she heard her speak his name. "Veroen?"
The sound of her voice saying his name made him freeze up, and melt on the inside. His face went blank as his mind practically evaporated for a good 3 seconds. Then it all made sense.
'Meredith.' he thought to himself.
Forgetting about the Vampires he watched die, Veroen embraced her back, with an equally strong hug.
He was speechless.

(reposted response to DNY hunter leader) Peter paused looking to the hunter as she approached. He jumped down to the ally ground level. He could smell her furry, it seeped from her into the air... he could see it hanging in the air around her... he had told himself to stay back before, why hadn't he listened... because you where hungry and you haven’t eaten in a month, because you haven’t shifted into anything for close to two months, and because I was sick of being kept in and being shut up by you, besides they made the first move against a helpless human, they meant to kill. You where virtually keeping the peace. 'Shut the ******** up... no it is my fault... and I didn’t have right to jump into anyone's hunt like I did... besides I didn’t know if he was even on my side, I assumed... I could have been killing friendly’s for all I know... I got over excited in the heat of it and gave into my basic instincts... I was an animal....’ you where a predator, you did as any predator with any sad excuse for prey would do... you got over excited sure, but you did as any other.. And how was it outside the order of things... they attacked a human; you saved the human... what else matters? 'Control, what separates the monsters we hunt to ourselves... that’s what... you weren’t doing that... How do you ******** know it’s human... we smell like human...? you crossed the line... give me back everything... I want to talk to her without you in my head... you’ve seen the air of authority about her... Get out, you do nothing good when challenged... and I know you still want this job, leave'...
The glow in Peter's eyes left... he stood straighter... his eyes trained down... Ashamed of himself inside... he straightened himself as he walked to this other hunter, obviously one with more authority then the one he had meet and assisted... he stood at attention, a hint of military attitude returning to his posture. "Ma'am it’s my fault. I entered a hunt with motives besides hunting to the protection of humanity and the balance of supernatural powers. I was out of line and gave in too easily to my urges as when I was shifted... my behavior was unacceptable and disgraceful... I pressed the other hunter Matt here into my... savage ritual. It was not his fault."
The voice inside him screamed curses and bellowed threats into Peters ear... he ignored them, he knew only he could hear them... and he knew he could control it.
"Forgive me ma'am... I was extremely out of line, that... that was out of character for me. I got carried away in the hunting, and my other side got the better of me. If you decide to look past my moment of weakness, accept my sincerest apology, and see it in yourself to ever call on me to work in your city again, then I swear I will redeem these actions and can assure you that this will never happen again."

(( No worries, fate. Meredith will eventually realize that she has two hunters watching her hugging V and remember to respond. ))
While she had been in the middle of dealing with two of her hunters being out of line those thoughts had melted away the instant her love's scent had washed over her. His scent, to her, was the ultimate comfort and him being here in her arms again was more than she could have dreamed of. Where he had been did not matter right now, no questions needed to be asked, for now all that she needed to know was that he was here in her arms with her again at last. She had not even realized that Veroen had not recognized her and it probably wouldn't have mattered to her anyhow. This was her love and he was alive, well and here. For months she had been despairing, assuming the worst, that he had died or that he had left forever but he was here now. Just as she'd been prepared to move on he'd come back to her again and she couldn't have been more grateful or happy.
No words were really required between the two as they clearly had a very strong bond with one another whether it was from the past or where ever this had come from. Of course, her hunters were watching this and normally Meredith would have reserved herself but in her mind Veroen had practically come back from the dead. She wanted to be near him and assure that he was alright, that he was the same Veroen that'd almost killed her, the same one that'd felt horrible for having almost killed her and the same one that'd fallen in love with her. He smelled the same and in general he seemed the same but she was not really paying a huge amount of attention to him other than hugging him and nuzzling him lovingly.
Finally she looked up at him, smiled and gently kissed his cheek before deciding to say something to him. "I've missed you. I thought you were gone ... I'm so glad you're here right now ..." Her words were tender, filled with affection. After she'd spoken she continued to study him, pulling his hood down with a soft smile. It was clear that she'd missed him and that she'd probably been preparing to assume the worst and simply deal with the fact and move on. Now she didn't have to or at least she hoped she wouldn't have to. She hoped he'd be able to stay with her this time and remain here so that she wouldn't have to worry about him and so they would not have to be apart again. However, she was still more surprised than anything to see him and grateful that nothing had happened to him that'd prevented her from ever seeing him again.

Veroen continued to hug her, feeling the rush of long missed emotions. A very subtle smile played at his lips as she hugged him tightly. So many memories, emotions, and thoughts swirled around him.
He grinned at her as she pulled his hood down, revealing his white hair, which was so white it almost was bright to look at. It was not fixed by any means. It was not long, but somehow defied gravity and spiked up in different directions. [[ gonna base his hair off of my avatar i suppose. XP ]]
His crimson red eyes met hers, and after she said she was glad he was here, he said nothing, and met her lips with his own, showing his passion rather than speaking it.
He became oblivious to his surroundings immediately.

Meredith had caught his smile and was glad to see that it had not changed in the least and was still as infectious and as precious as ever. It immediately caused her to smile, practically forced her to and she held him closer and simply leaned her head against his chest for a few quiet moments in order to bask some more in her good fortune. Veroen had promised to come through for her always and he had yet to break that promise to her and she was unbelieveably elated at the thought. She nuzzled him some more until he answered her words with a kiss, which she more than willingly returned. In that moment she knew that it'd been much too long and that she'd missed him a lot more than she'd allowed herself to admit until now. Simply catching his scent had excited her beyond belief and now this was just heaven on earth if ever there was such a thing.
Eventually she remembered that she'd been disciplining her hunters and that she'd kind of just made a huge scene in front of them. Of course, Veroen was not a hunter at all and was actually a vampire so that would probably be a little hard to explain to them. Not to mention she was a lycan and not a human so she'd received a lot of resistance from the more racist-based hunters but she'd managed to rise above the criticism and lead the hunters as a whole. She pulled away from Veroen for a moment but had taken a firm hold of his hand, not wanting him to go anywhere since she had not seen him for so long. He wasn't going to get away from her that easily again and she was going to spend a hell of a lot of time with him before she let him out of her sight.
Meredith's expression was a somewhat sheepish frown as she turned to face the hunter that'd told her it was his fault for hunting down the vampires so savagely and her expression hardened again. Despite the fact she was holding Veroen's hand she still managed to seem utterly intimidating and it wasn't likely it'd take much away from the fact that she was not impressed at all. "You will need to remember yourself then and remember what it is you are here for. You joined the hunters to protect innocents and your fellow hunters, nothing more. This is not a game to play and there is certainly no room for your prejudices here. I may not be human anymore but I was one once and even when I was I was not barbaric with my kills. As for your companion, he acts of his own accord and you were not the one who made him act as he did. He is in control of his own actions and therefore will suffer the consequences for them."
She paused for a moment, not really certain what she was going to do to these two but she figured she had to take some sort of action in order for them to take her seriously. Perhaps she would suspend them or place them under some sort of house arrest ... perhaps have someone keep a watch on them or keep an eye on them herself. "You're lucky he's here," she gestured to Veroen briefly, "or I would probably be a lot less forgiving in my convictions. Normally I would suspend you both and place you under house arrest but I'm going to let you off the hook. You can keep an eye out for a nineteen-year old, red-haired boy named Aiden Alastronia. He's 5'1" and he is with a companion with a tanned complexion who has black or red eyes and has black hair. And he's 5'3". They're MIA and now you can do something productive and go search for them."

Matt countied to watch the client, He doesnt even worry about the current conversion. He needs to protect him. "Ma'am I need to protect him, Or he will die... I can do it." He askes. He throws his jacket back on as the presnce of a women, it is not apporite to be shirtless. He needs to protect the innocet well, thinks is innocent mortal. The advancing vampire frightened him. " Not to ruin the whole love snece Madam... if anything we need to stop them.." He addes. The pain inside his gut if the human he almost wasted his life for dies would be the wroth feeling he had ever felt. He needs to but he can't.

Veroen couldn't help but smile the entire time he watched Edith yell at the two hunters. He almost uttered a chuckle or two. Seeing her order around hunters as their "boss-lady", was somehow entertaining for him. To think that she was the Hunter Leader now. Amazing.
And Veroen couldn't help but add his own sentence in as well to the two hunters.
"And you are lucky your Leader was here to save you from an even worse fate than house arrest. I am not as forgiving as Meredith." Veroen said with a flash of his eyes. It was true. He was going to break their necks for their actions, maybe even feast on their bodies as payment for them feasting on his comrades bodies. Despicable it was.
Then Veroen couldn't help but muster a smile at the corner of his mouth. It was as if Edith was a mother scolding her kids, and as if Veroen was the father in the situation. The very thought of it made him chuckle.
He said no more, and simply watched silently as she gave out orders to the two.

Peter straightened to attention. "Yes Ma'am." He was glade he wasn't being disbanded from the group. He had assumed either that or being labeled as a new target for his fellow hunters.. He was glad that the voice was quiet now.. be he knew that it was only distracted.. It saw the powerful vampire.. It was very interested.. do we git to see him kill something..? Peter ignored it. It respected power.. strength, determination.. It respected only those who looked as if they would be an actual challenge or match in combat.. it considered them worthy of respect, of acknowledgment.. "Ma'am permission to take the search to the sky ... ensured I will not be seen by any mortals, of course?"
