Hello fellow Ravenclaws.

It's been a while, so much has happened in my muggle life. My last residence turned out to be toxic to my energy when the owner got out of state prison (for his fourth DUI) and was drunk twice by his third day out and his friend first verbally then physically sexually harassed me and I had to dial 911 and climb out my window and sneak around back, hide in bushes...

Then i was a gypsy living homeless out of my backpack, car, friend's couches, and hotel rooms... for about a month and a half.

I finally have a non-toxic environment (with a KITTY, my familiar *points to ceiling cat*) but I lost my car when my brakes failed in the rain so I'm having trouble making and keeping appointments.

I need more magick in my life, and I do miss this guild. Hope everybody is well.

meatball: Wow, I guess a lot has happened since you last posted here.

On Sunday I went to my cousin's graduation party. It was really fun, but it was hot so we spent most of our time in the house rather than outside in the heat. He's going to school not too far from where I live, so that's good because we'll get to see him more often.

I finished taking my finals on Tuesday. I got a C on two of my finals, and in those two classes my final grade ended up being an A in one, and a C+ in the other (I expected no less) and I still don't know the scores of my other two finals yet.

I got my wisdom teeth out today. It wasn't too bad, but now I can't really eat anything outside of the popsicle-ice cream-pudding-Jello-soup and other soft food realm for the next few days. But I'd rather get them out over the summer than have to do it during the school year like my older brother had to. So yeah, that's about the most interesting thing that's happened in my life recently.

Meatball: Seems like you've had quite the... adventure? Time flies by quickly in our muggle lives - doesn't it?

Jedi: Congratulations on your A! I'm sure you did well on your other two finals as well. ^^

Haha. I have two years of exams, twice a year. Exams before Christmas, exames before summer holidays. The good part? No school inbetween. wink I've gone completely "Privatist". I'm responsible for my own education, then there's one exam each subject, two in some of the more oral subjects, and then I get a grade.

If I get a sucky grade.. I can always re-do the exam. Of course, the exams costs about 50 dollars each. But that's better than sitting in a classroom all day.

Ah, I still have to grow my upper right wisdom tooth. Otherwise they're all out, and no need to pull them out - thankfully.

I've never had to pull out a tooth, and I've never had a hole. ;3 Quite proud of that achievement actually. My grandma is convinced my teeth are made of plastic though...

...And the ice cream doesn't sound too bad, does it?

I'd love some Ben & Jerry's. Unfortunately, the closest place they sell Ben & Jerry's ice cream from here is at a 7/11 in Tromsø. That's a three and a half hour drive from here. Not fun.

At the moment, I'm selling some crappy Gaia items. I have some items from events all from 2007 and up, some of them now sells for a few thousand gold. wink

Talking about teeth, ne? I have a bit in common with both of you. The only dental service with my insurance available to me is the "dental emergency" where you have to go between 7:30-8:30 in the morning and it's first come first serve during that window and/or the first 10.

But time went on and I saw other people from other clinics going in and out... I was hitting the wall with my fist on occasion... the lady at the window said they had to do people with appointments before getting to me but my doctor said (and my boyfriend remmebers as well) THERE ARE NO APPOINTMENTS!

... unless you're a child and they do more or as an adult they'll pull your tooth.

Turns out I have a cavity (or hole as I was calling it) on the bottom so deep I can stick a toothpick in half a centimeter, but it doesn't hurt unless I get something annoying like a bit of peanut stuck underneath. Recently in the past two weeks I had the similar happen to the matching tooth on my upper right.. and it stings the nerve sharply then takes two hours to die down...

They gave me antibiotics, a stronger tab of ibuproffen to use as an anti inflammatory though on the pain part it's a placebo due to my back, and yes they will pull that tooth because to get a filling or something elsewhere will cost money I don't have. It'll get pulled in over a month.

At least that's where my ONE wisdom tooth is... so I have 13 on my top and if I get the painful tooth pulled I'll be even twelve again plus if I get braces like I want to eventually, I figured they'd have to pull a tooth or teeth to give my existing teeth room to MOVE.

Looks like we're all in this together.

(My first real cavity at age 25... I guess I did well enough!)

meatball: That sucks. I guess you did do pretty well thought, 25 and this is your first cavity? That's not too bad. I only have one really tiny cavity that took about five minutes to fill (then I was numb for the dang Novocaine for the next five hours) and I don't even remember where it is. The only reason I had it was because I couldn't brush as well as normal due to my braces.

Kitsune: Ben and Jerry's ice cream does sound good right now. You have to drive three and a half hours just to get to a 7/11 store? Wow...that's a long time. I have one a couple miles from my house.

I'm on state insurance, and it's pretty lame in terms of my options: either I go elsewhere and pay out of pocket to have it filled, a root canal, or whatever I need... or they pull it.

Thankfully my overly crowded tiny jaw only got one wisdom tooth, and the one with the painful cavity is just a few teeth up from that...

I plan to get braces at some point too... but judging by my lack of stability since I graduated with my bachelor's... I'll probably be 30 when I get them... egads x_x! I want teeth that align properly though... is that really too much to ask?

Ah, at least you're able to get it covered. We might have free health care and all - but for some reason, dentists aren't covered by that. We have free dental help untill we hit eighteen, then everything has to come out of our own pockets. ><

Really hope you find someplace that your insurance covers though!

You don't really need braces unless it's an annoyance or anything.. I mean, I had a friend whose teeth started sometimes growing behind other teeth and all. She had very crooked teeth - had to wear braces for four years, removed them four years ago and still have to wear that night-thing you wear after removing your braces.

Personally, perfectly aligned teeth scare me. o.O It's unnatural. xD Of course - it's another thing entirely when it's bad, and not just slightly

If that makes any sense at all?

On another note - I've noticed that in my norwegian dialect, I can say a small sentence by only using vowels, and a couple of sentences by the use of only one-lettered pronunced words.

How funky isn't that? xD

Well, I've had an overbite ever since I lost my baby teeth. At the end of first grade to the beginning of second grade I had two braces/brackets on my very front upper teeth to close a gap and push them back. The gap remained closed but as other teeth came in I quickly outgrew the retainer (the name for the thing you wear at night) and they pushed them right back out. And now with the 'extra' wisdom tooth on the right side my front right tooth sticks out even more!

It bothers me because my upper teeth tend to rest on my lower lip and not my jaw/teeth, and I have almost permanent indentations on the inside of my lower lip where my teeth like to 'rest'. It's not horridly unnattractive and easily hidden, but it's embarrased me for years...

... and I have so many body issues it's not even funny. Anything I can do to be proud of my body is helpful. I got a tattoo on my upper middle back so people would notice that and not my surgery scar.

I hate my body to the point where when almost any guy gets me to a point where clothes start to come off I cry and/or have a panic attack. Safe to say I'm still a virgin redface

Hello my dear Ravenclaws!
I'm so sorry I haven't posted here in forever! I swear, I'm not dead, haha. I've had exams...or well, I still have exams until tomorrow...and my AP World project to do...which was actually fun, surprisingly. But, that shouldn't be an excuse...once summer officially comes, I'll hopefully post more =).

I actually just looked on the Hogwarts Houses thread and thought "When did I become a 5th year?!" Then I remembered "Oh, yeah! Kitsune and I are the only Ravenclaw 5th years, I remember now." Just thought I'd share that with you lovely people =).

But, I'm on now, so if someone wants to talk to me, feel free =).

Kineka: Wow, it has been awhile since we've seen you around here, but it's nice that you're back again. Hopefully since it's summer, more of the Ravenclaws will start posting again since there's no school.

Meatball: Hopefully you can get braces and once you feel better once your teeth look nice. Before I had braces, I had a big gap between my front two teeth that my retainer couldn't fix, and I had teeth going at weird angles, and top teeth came down too far, and I felt much better after I got braces. Now I'm dealing with wisdom teeth. That sucked. I can't wait til I can actually eat real food again. I really hope that you find a place that takes your insurance soon. What does the tattoo on your back look like? I've contemplated getting a couple tattoos when I'm older, but I'm still undecided.

Jedi: I know, I'm sorry ='(. Just a lot of stuff going on...but now that it's exam week, I have some free time, so I just randomly decided to post on here =).

Meatball: I'm sorry you need braces, I've heard they hurt really bad...although I've never had them, a bunch of my friends have. But, Jedi is right, you'll feel better once you get them off =). Sorry to intrude, I just thought I'd throw in my two cents.

Hi Kineka, long time no see! I'm... second year second term I suppose... halfway on my way to being a third year.

You're the first person I've seen that I remember. I can't help but wonder where our prefect(s) and our Head of House is. I kind of liked the little community feeling we had going on.

I really don't think I'll mind the physical pain of braces,as I did have limited braces/brackets when I was a child. Like jediwarrior, I'm sure I'll feel much better once I go through with the ordeal, and will be much more self-confident with my face and smiling for pictures and stuff. For years I have had to actively fight to not do a close-mouthed smile just because I'm embarassed of my teeth (thhough I'm sure nobody thinks they're as bad as I do).

There's not much we can change about ourselves... our height, the amouth of melanin in our skin, our bone structure... but fixing your teeth alignment/smile is one thing that can be fixed... and since I have low self esteem in terms of body image, I want to just go for it! pirate

Hi Meatball! Wow, that's good! Keep up the posting! I'm like, 40 posts away from being a 6th year. =)

Hm, you mean Minerva and all those other people haven't been posting either (I don't look through the thread, just the most recent posts)? That's sad, we did have a nice little community. I remember you, though. Jedi and Kitsune too. I think those are the only ones I remember, though...

Ah, I gotcha. But, yes, I know for a fact you'll feel better once you get them off and have more confidence in yourself. But, maybe they really aren't that bad. People normally think of themselves as lower than other people would think of them.

I'm happy for you =). I think if you can change something that you don't like about yourself and is dragging you down, then just do it! You'll feel better after it, I know you will.

Kineka: I totally understand. I was busy with school too and didn't really have time to get on and post a lot.

And you're right, it's been meatball, Kitsune, and me for awhile. The other Ravenclaws haven't been on in awhile. Their muggle life has probably been keeping them plenty busy.

Meatball: Braces really aren't that bad. I mean, they hurt for a few days when you first get them on, and when you get them tightened, but you'll get used to them, and then they really won't be that bad. And once they're off, your teeth will look amazing.

Jedi: Yeah. But summer is here now! Thank the Lord above. I'm just about to get cracking on that huge reading list I've accumulated over the year. It's so sad that I don't get to read that much over the school year.

Oh, wow. I'm sorry I couldn't get on. I'll try to be on more. But it's kind of weird how even the Prefects aren't posting. Aren't they supposed to be welcoming new people and stuff?

Oh and this is just a random little tidbit for Kitsune...you do know you're a 6th year now, right?
