Bianca was a little weirded out when the child up and hugged her and she was a little surprised to find that the girl was cold too, cold as ice. It felt nice to have this cold small child hug her, and it made her want to have cold children of her own too.

"You're cold too. Where did you come from little girl?" She spoke softly, and calmly which wasn't normal at all. Bianca was usually bursting with lots of loud emotions.

Finally, the girl seemed to wake up. She let go of Bianca to bounce around the fountain happily, bursting with energy all of sudden. "Mr wolf said I come from the sky, but I know that's not true. I come from a real nice place with real nice peoples. It's called Bass'ken lake, I think. There, a real nice man that was all cold, like you, said he'd give me candies if I'd find a cold woman." A little set of giggles, and the child finally calmed down, letting herself drop to the floor beside the fountain. "I can't wait to have my candies. I can share, if you want some, miss cold. You sound nice too."

Bianca was excited too after hearing what the girl had to say, a cold man who said he'd give the little girl candies. It must be him. She doubted about her actually getting the candies but all the same it sounded like him. Who else in gaia would it be with fire being such a popular element.

"You can keep your candies for yourself little miss but can you tell me which way the lake is?" Bianca was getting happy again, she might get to see Unsane again after all.

"It'd over there." She said, pointing in the direction of the lake. "You can't really miss it."

Another smile, and the young child rose to the tip of her toes to place a kiss on Bianca's cheek. A small peck, a childish display of affection, an explosion of cuteness. Without another word, she just pranced out of the shrine, and disappeared in the crowd.

Stepping into onto the docks, the swashbuckler proceeded to walk towards the gathering of people, seeing that the man was still trying to recruit adventurers to go on such a mission. He wanted to ask when this mission was to start, but seeing the man busy trying to sway the decisions of the crowd, Turriens decided to remain quiet and wait for the man to finish his speaches first.

A dark haired man sat quietly in one of the waiting rooms of Shield headquarters, whistleing, humming and sometimes even singing part of a small tune to himself.

"Took a trip...did not last....twas only in my miiiind..."

"Sir, I really must insist you stop that...your bothering the officers." Blue eyes so dark they were almost black, blinked at a nice bustline before slowly traveling up to meeting the pale brown eyes of the receptionist. The he looked over her shoulder to see a few angry uniformed guards, some talking to handcuffed prisoners, some just doing paperwork, glaring at him angrily.

He gave a bright disarming grin and then winked at the receptionist. "So sorry 'bout that love, forget where I am sometimes." He pulled a paper out of the open shirt he wore, showing a flash of well toned muscle. "I was told...in this that my services might be needed by one of your commanders...prieviously I'd been investigating claims of an anit-meta movement within Barton and Gambino...but have been pulled from higher up to investigate another matter for the police of Latent. Do you have any idea about this appointment and where I should be headed?"

The distinct sounds of leather upon wood sounded out, as someone came striding down the hallway. One hand placed neatly within the pockets of his pants, the other arm loosely swinging by his side, the raven-haired Spear emerged into the waiting room, crimson hues scanning the room even as he walked up to the receptionist.

"Have someone escort Prisoner #109; make sure he get's just one phone call." The woman nodded, as she took back the manilla envelope that he'd been carrying, and she spoke to him breifly, her eyes looking towards the man who'd been waiting for quite a while already.

"Mr. Mere---" the Spear soon made his way over to the man, standing as he stared down. "--I presume?"

Prisoner 109 walked down the hall after the cute little woman in her cute little uniform and tried not to look at her wriggling a**.

John had been leaning against the wall in his cell - he'd tried to open the little unfoldable chair, but it hadn't responded to his gentle pokes, and he kinda didn't want to break anything else at this time - when the woman had come to escort him. She'd tried to put the manacles on his arms, but they hadn't fit. She had stood there for a moment, looking worried, before he decided to save her the trouble and grabbed some of the spare chain on the floor and looped it around his arms, offering her one of the sealed locks.

His arms now secured, she took him to a line of phones somewhere within the department - it wasn't like John wasn't paying attention to the place - and pointed to it. "You've got one phonecall. It can last as long as you want, but be reasonable."

"Thankyou sweetheart. I'll be quick." John said to her kindly, elicting a small smile - before the woman cleared her throat and tried to act professional in front of the handsome hulk before her.

Turning to the phone and picking it up off the hook, he placed the handle to his ear , held it there by wedging it between his ear and his shoulder, and dialed his home number.

"...C'mon...c'mon Amber, be home..." He looked to the girl beside him and chuckled nervously - before blinking as Amber picked up. Amb, it's me...how ya going, sweety?...That's good...listen, i dont want you to worry, but i'm at the Latent police department - well, what passes as a police department, i'm not sure what it is, but whatever, i'm stuck here. Why? ...Well...i was trying to find someone to take care of Juuni and got jumped by these two men...yeah, i knew them...it doesnt matter, they saw me kill a man and i'm being held for murder...

...I'm fine...Juuni is fine...she's not with me, she escaped. I get the feeling she'll be able to take care of herself...yeah, they deserved it. Trust me honey, they deserved it. You know me. ...It might take some time for the cops to figure that out, though - but i dont think they'll really care.

Anyways, i just wanted to call to make sure you were alright and to ask if Meryl is in. Dammit...well, when she comes back from partol, tell her to call Tellus. I'll be needing lawyers, most likely. Meryl will know what to do. Also...try to find Juuni. She's all alone and i dont know where she is...i'd feel much better if i knew she was safe. Yeah, i know what i said, but you know me...thanks baby. I love you. Dont worry, i'll be fine. I love you too. Okay, see ya 'round. Love ya."

He sighed heavily as he hung the phone up, his hand staying on the handle for a second more...before he looked down to the little girl, his eyes downcast now, the kind smile gone. "...Alright...you can take me back now..."

The girl nodded and returned him to his cell.

A smile broke out on the man known as Henry Mere's face as he looked up at the officer. He stood up hastily from the seat he'd been sprawled in, his dark trechcoat fluttering around him as he did so.

Henry was a strange person to take in all at once, because even though you might think you remember every little detail about the man; the next time you looked it all seemed to change again. The coat he wore was dark, but then again it might have been light in the right atmosphere, the clothes he wore were a mix and match of blacks, whites, and grey's, which never seemed to stay where they were supposed to. And he, blended into his environment, until, of course, he let himself be known by speaking...or singing, as the case had been with the receptionist.

Now while she had felt the presence of someone simply waiting, the officer would begin to suddenly feel an authoritative personality as Henry's stance, looks and personality shifted to his need.

"Ah, are you the one I'm to contact about this rather mysterious circumstance? Or," The grin became sly as he firmly shook a gloved hand. "Shall I inform you as to why I am here and whats been assigned from higher up?"

"Please, humour me." The Spear, half turned, recieving another folder from the receptionist, his attention still on the man as he opened it and began rifling through it's contents.

"There have been a lot of...problems with Shield being stuck between a rock and a hard headed place. One one side you have the recent development of severly anti-meta groups, probably as a sideaffect of recent unchecked meta's destroying a good portion of lives about this area." He crossed his arms over his chest and sighed. "Then on the other side you have the actual meta's who either believe they can take care of this descrimination by themselves...or...who are trying to defend their lives and families by taking the law into their own hands."

He scratched the side of his nose and then shrugged. "Neither have any faith in a police force such as Shield. They both see them as being outrageously unfair. One because a lot of this organization is staffed by meta and the other because they have been openly defied any meta that goes on a rampage. For example this afternoon." Henry shrugged.

"Now you need it dealt with, you need Shield to be a force recognized from both sides as being impartial, fair, and dedicated to keeping the wealfare of ALL humans, meta and otherwise, safe. You need a symbol to keep you going, and you need some people behind the shadows to bring it to you safe and sound. Am I anywhere close to hitting the mark, officer?"

"Mr. Mere, I don't do politics." Handing the folder back, the Spear turned around to face the man, folding both hands behind his back.

"We Spear's exist for the sake and welfare of humans-- we're not like those other naturally gifted 'meta's', or otherwordly creatures. Nor do we wish to be. Personally, I think the lot of them should be thrown behind bars into the Gulag before anymore harm can come of them-- but that's just me."

Crimson hues focused and intensified upon the man, as the raven-haired Spear stared down at the man. "So get to the point."

Henry snorted. "Yeah, that's what the people opposed to them think too...Considering what you are...I'm not surprised. Regardless, I've been sent to "pick up" some specific people in your holding cells. Just one actually. Saw him when you brought him by. Seems the higher ups believe this artifact will need some serious brawns to get to. I need your Tommorow, I believe his name is. The other one we don't have to worry about now, because she's outside. I can pick her up later."

Henry blinked and then gave the commander a significant look. "I won't tell you how to do your job, officer. But I do think that furthur personal problems you may have with meta's should be taken into consideration before you go out onto the streets. Just because something makes a bigger bang, doesn't mean that it's brought the building down, if you know what I mean." He was digging in his pockets, a piece of papers was place over the files. "This is all my clearence for missions such as these, as well as the ability to take whoever I think is "neccessary" Henry appraised the other man. "Don't suppose you have any leave comming up, officer? Fancy a dangerous sort of vacation?" He knew the answer was no, but it was fun to throw a jab his way.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 11, 2005 12:27 pm

"Sorry to inform you, Mr. Mere, but I was denied the right to feel or exhibit prejudice of any sort. We Spear's exist to serve and protect, nothing more. We aren't human and we aren't meta. We're just walking, living, breathing tools."

The room fell silent, as everyone stared, an uncformtable silence growing in strength. The Spear's were small in number for a reason... they had all the bang they would ever need, and they were respected and feared all at once rightfully so. They were emotionless, artifical creations, made by humans, to serve humans.

Nothing more.

"Miss. Clavenport, please escort Mr. Mere to Prisoner 109."

Henry threw his hands up in the air dramatically as the officer walked off. "Ah! What a waste!" But he didn't elaborate. He knew it was a lost cause talking with something programed to be that way.

He knew though that if Shield kept fighting against what they deemed to be the "lower element" the less controled beings with outside powers...they were in for a world of hurt when it came to support. Whoever said Justice was blind wasn't kidding.

He also knew very well that the people that created the members of Shield would have had their own agenda, and that was always something nasty to consider. Henry knew ALL about that, he created people himself. Messy buisness altogether. Specially if you run out of souls to put in. Those sorts of people had a tendancy to see only black and white in very grey sorts of worlds.

He shrugged and grinned back at the secretary disarmingly. "Hullo sugar pop. Best take me quickly, before stoneface comes back with a reason to keep him in a cell."

She blushed and took him down the same hallway she had been that day. Henry peered through the bars in dim light at the large figure and sighed. "Mr. Tommorow, I presume?"
