Lucia scoweld, "You, dare question me?!" Her eyes swirled with an inner smoke before bursting out with light, her voice rose and boomed out like thunder, "I am the true representative of the Gods! I have been blessed with gifts no man has ever held within his grasp!" Her voice came out in chords, powerful, tremendously awe inspiring. With a gust of wind dead leaves rose and swirled about her form, violently twisting and being torn to pieces by the force of the air that surrounded her. "I need not answer to Inquisitionalists, even the high priestess herself dare not question my authority!" She glared at the pair, each in turn, invisible not to the power of her burning eyes. "I am Lucia! Priestess chosen by the Gods! I alone represent them, and you would be fools to challenge me with naught but mortal blades!" With that, the swirling air around her exploded, sending a shock-wave out that felled the nearest trees and cleaned the ground around her of debris.

Taria paced the clearing impatiently, ignoring the worried looks she was receiving from her younger sister. Where were Kaori and the demon boy? What had happened to them? For that matter, why wasn't the mob howling for thier blood at the clearing yet? It wasn't all that great a distance.
Taria sniffed the wind in vain, it was coming from the wrong direction for her to pick up anything. She thought she heard distant shouts and screams... and a snatch of something weird and booming... Where the heck were those two?

Selyna too had been pacing back and forth, having long since morphed back into her humanoid form to communicate with the sisters if need be. She also couldn’t pick up any scents, but she did hear blood curdling screams and some short time later a large boom; to make matters worse she thought she may have heard a male voice challenging someone. Unable to contain her curiosity any longer, she looked to the sisters before saying I’m going to go check on them. I’ll stay in the trees as much as possible so as to not attract attention. Morphing into an orange cat, she looked at the sisters for a moment before climbing the nearest tree and running off. She left hastily not because she didn’t want to be around the sisters, but because she was concerned for Kaori and Abel. She would get just close enough to hear or see and then go back; no sense in getting caught after all this. She leapt from limb to limb towards the sound of the male voice she’d heard; hoping she wasn’t too late or that they hadn’t encountered the mob. A few trees away she thought she caught a glimpse of Kaori’s body and froze in fear of what may have happened, but as she watched the limp body on the ground she relaxed a bit as she could very easily see Kaori was breathing. However Selyna didn’t have a very clear shot of Abel from here, only able to see part of his back and know that he was crouching before their hostess. Just in range of the conversation she heard disgust in an unknown voice as it said “- that bullshit they call a religion”. Feeling it was a person on their side, she moved closer until she was in the tree above her companions in the event that they needed her help. Crouching close to the limb, she waited and listened, the tip of her tail twitching from anticipation.

Talia and Taria looked at each other for a long moment after Selyna left, a battle raging between them, no less intense for its silence. Gazes locked, they glared furiously as each struggled for supremacy. At length, it was Talia who looked down with a grimace and a sigh. Taria immediately shrugged off the pack to turn into a wolf and padded in the direction Selyna had gone. Talia ghosted after her.

Reno never saw the explosion coming. He had been so consumed in his mind as she had spoken, his eyes fixating on the leaves spiraling around her that the explosion, when he ripped from her, sent him tumbling backwards away. Demetrius, however, had held his ground from the onslaught of energy. All around him trees swayed and groaned as leaves flew about in him a wild, sensual dance of power. His world was consumed by this onslaught, but despite it all, he held firm, his face strained as his muscles stood taught. And then the sudden explosion passed and the tall black man glared at her, as his daggers tightened in his hands.
Reno’s head burst forth from a pile of leaves that had accumulated upon his sprawled body. Loathing and disgust filled his eyes and blood gushed from a wound upon his forehead, spilling down and darkening his left eye. The red head Inquisitionist felt the vile taste in his mouth and he spat darkly as he rose to his feet, his invisible cloak lopsided and only hiding one half of his body. For a long time Reno stood there, the clearing around them still and utterly silent. Demetrius looked between Reno and the girl and made ready to pounce upon his prey.
“How dare you.” Muttered Reno, his voice a lethal whisper. “How dare you claim to be higher in power than the High Priestess!” Reno staggered a few paces forward, his one clean eye glaring firmly at her while the other blood shrouded eye held itself tightly shut. “Not even the twelve almighty gods would be so vulgar in their claims and yet you are so? And you expect us to believe thee to be a chosen of the almightys?” Reno spat in disgust, his saliva and blood mixing together and sticking firmly to the leaf strewn, earthen floor of the forest. “You alone do not represent them! The church alone represents them, you heretic!” Reno tried to take another step but his left leg gave out and he crashed into a heap on the earth. Demetrius saw this and instantly readied his attack. The hidden figure of Demetirus held himself like a bow string and if this, whatever she was, dared to lay another blow at Reno, she would perish.
“It would seem, however, though I take no pride in saying this, that your power does exceed our own. But then again, we Inquisitionalists are only human!” He spat the last word out in both a mixture of pride and hatred. The pride was for the fact that he had been born and would die for the church untainted. His hatred was to show whoever this newcomer was that he considered her no better than the anathema he hunted. Reno struggled to raise himself once more. “So then, what do you intend to do now, because you have already wasted much time and the anatham you claim to hunt have certainly been on the move ever since this fight commenced. Truly you wanted them captured I now see. Perhaps it was your plan to delay us and you are indeed in league with them!” He glared at her darkly, the mistrust almost palpable in his eyes. “Well done in allowing them to escape. Well done indeed…” And then he added, in a voice dripping with loathing sarcasm “Chosen.”

Lucia frowned, then smiled. "I am wasting my time no longer with you, Inquisitionalists. While we have been speaking I have been scanning the area for signs of magic use. Unlike you I do not waste my time in trivial pursuits without ensuring that such time will not go without reward. I have sensed an enchantment, possibly a ward, within close proximity of the charred remains of the house. If you haven't noticed, the fires formerly consuming it have gone out, suggesting another magic user is in the area." She laughed, a cruel, wicked laugh. "If you truly wish me to prove myself, then follow me, I am not here to kill servants of the Church, I am here to hunt the filth that lurks in these forests." Again her disgust evident in her words. "Follow me or leave me be, I will not waste my time in fighting you." With that she strode in the direction of the charred house, still keeping herself alert for any sign of movement on the part of the Inquisitionalists.

Abel straightened out to his full heighth glancing back over his shoulder once to check on Kaori, in hopes she wouldve woken by now. No such luck. He faced the woman, Cyreanne she had introduced herself as, and nodded, "Good news," He murmured, they were gone for now. but the confusing part was they had slain the civilians. Abel didnt know much about the religion's strategies, but he was sure killing your allies didnt rank up at best.
"No of course I'm not, The name's Abel, a half demon and shifter. My comrade here," He motioned briefly to Kaori, "Is Kaori, she's also a witch." He smiled lightly at her actions upon mentioning the religion. "I whole-heartedly agree, Miss" He turned, lifting Kaori once more then turning back to Cyreanne. "There is another group-" He cut his sentence short upon hearing and smelling Selyna's approach, Taria and Talia on her heels. "Well never mind, here will do just fine."

"In that case," Cyreanne began, "it is an honor to make you acquaintance, Abel." She looked around her, uneasy, "We should get moving before they return, those zealots aren't likely to leave this area unchecked, if they're really serious about finding us..." She looked at Abel's heat signature, "If you need any help carrying your friend, I'm in fit enough shape that we can switch off, though I doubt my physical endurance for that task matches yours, it'll be better than wearing yourself out doing it all on your own." She looked around herself again and suddenly noticed the additional heat signature of Selyna in the trees above. Addressing the new presence, she spoke, "Greetings fellow magical being, my name is Cyreanne, I'm here to help. We need to leave this area as soon as possible." She paused turning to Abel to address him as well, "If either of you know the way, I think we would all find it to our advantage to start heading out now."

Seeing this woman was no threat to them at the moment, Selyna jumped off the tree limb in her cat form, but landed on the ground with a soft thud in her humanoid form. She too looked over her shoulder as she heard the sisters coming and spoke quickly. I don’t know much about this area, but when I was leaving my home the religion hadn’t really spread out that far yet. Perhaps we can head to some far out tiny town? Looking back at the woman, she cocked her head to the side involuntarily while looking at her, wondering where she found her clothes and thinking to herself that this woman’s hair stood out even more than hers. Snapping out of her thoughts she stepped a bit closer to Abel to get a good look at Kaori. Please tell me that’s just because she was doing spells? She attempted to look up into Abel’s face, but was only able to glance over it and back down at Kaori. She wasn’t certain how quickly he got over things and wanted to give him as much space as possible in case he was still upset.

Cyreanne nodded, "I'm fine with that, it sounds like a fairly sound plan if you think that the villagers won't give us away." She paused in consideration, "I'll have to stick to the shadows, if there's anyone tracking us, we don't want to go into any town with anyone too conspicuous." She pointed to her hot pink hair, "I kind of fit that description." She looked behind her to sense a blur of heat signatures approaching the burnt down home, "Whatever we're doing, we need to move, now." She turned to Selyna, "Please, lead the way."

The dark eyes of Demetrius never left the woman as the turned to leave, his muscles eager to be unleashed upon her and to sink the daggers dip into her flesh. But Reno had yet to give the order to attack and Demetrius was not foolish enough to act without Reno’s aid. The tall man lowered his daggered and growled angrily before sheathing his daggers. For a moment he stood, before grunts from Reno reached his ears and he turned to watch as the red head rose to his feet, though his body stood at an awkward angle, his right leg clearly causing him some measure of pain.
“Are you alright?” Muttered Darius, his voice low and monotone like always, forever hiding the emotions that he might have felt. Reno looked from where the voice had arsine and gave a shaky smile as he began to limp forward.
“Well, I’ll live and keep the use of all my appendages.” Reno mused as he stopped and turned to look after the woman. “But as for her…” He trailed off.
“Removal?” Came Demetrius. Reno’s response was in a shack of his head as he kept on looking. “I’m in no condition to tackle her and alone would be folly to be sure. “
“Should we follow her?” Came Demetrius.
“Well, she could be taking us into a trap.” Muttered Reno. “But at the same time, maybe she isn’t. there is a true hatred in her eyes, that is for sure but at the same time, there was something else. And also the power she manifested well, it didn’t exactly feel like the type of manifesting powers the anathema so often display, it was oddly and weirdly different. Yet, I am not convinced nor shall I ever be that she is a true and utter chosen of the gods. No chosen would ever be so undemonstratively human.”
“So what shall we do?”
“We shall follow after and observe for the time. If she does indeed sense the anathema we seek than all the better for us. If she leads us to a trap and attempts to slay us, then I swear she and any any other who defy us shall perish, rest assured, I am not as frail as I allow both you and her to believe.” He and Demetrius nodded to one another as Reno enveloped himself in the fold of his cloak as he disappeared from the world. Then the two began a slow pace forward, quietly following the one who dared to claim herself as a chosen.

Lucia heard the men behind her and chuckled to herself, 'They truly have no idea of whom have encountered." She continued forward, then stopped suddenly, as she caught a wiff of a half-breed's blood amongst the smell of chared flesh and wood. She grinned, and continued forward at a heightened pace. Lucia stretched out her arms, widening the distance between them as she'd widened the distance between the corners of her mouth in grinning. Air began to swirl around them rapidly, there was not time wasted when the unusual colors of the half-breed's outfit and hair came into view. Lucia clapped her hands together and sent a shockwave of energy towards the unsuspecting witch.

Eye brows furrowing as she heard someone running towards them, Selyna looked towards Cyreanne curiously before the scent caught up with the sound. Until then the wind had been at her back, causing the scent to elude her; eyes widening, she made a running jump at the young witch to try and knock her down out of the way of the attack coming from the maniacal woman charging them. Look out! Whether she was able to get the woman out of the way or not, she would send a small bolt of lightening in the woman’s direction to try and slow her down, from her position on her belly on the ground.. Unwilling to kill someone right off, she did now see the importance of defending themselves and intended to do so. Attempting to raise herself off the ground, she would pivot and take off in the direction of her home, hoping to put distance between her comrades and those who attacked them.

Hearing Slyna's call, Cyreanne looked quickly about her, to see a massive wave of energy heading in her direction. As quickly as she could, the half-witch began to roll backwards, but not fast enough. The beam caught her descending form with a forceful blast that sent her spiraling through the air and into a tree. Her back slamming against the wood, Cyreanne fell to the ground. "Sh...s**t..." She muttered under her breath struggling to rise to her feet, she then looked up, her eyes burning with anger. "Run!" As a trickled of blood ran down from her nostril she extended the one hand that wasn't putting in effort to hold her up from the ground. Hot air swirled into her palm then exploded as a flaming projectile in the direction of Cyreanne's attacker.

Lucia held her left hand out towards a tree and there was a sudden crack. Without further warning the tree fell, just in time to hit the incoming fireball. It hit the ground in flames, and Lucia walked around it. She grinned as the electricla bolt passed by her, and continued confidently towards her targets, she could smell the blood of four impure beings, and she hoped to bring each one to their death. Raising her right hand towards her first target, she fired another burst of energy, then a second directly to the right of it.
