"It's still a bit early for me to sleep, if you two want to that's fine." She turned away from the other two. Now Sai was sure she had said the wrong thing before, pride stopped her from apologizing. Hey, it's not like today had been cake for her, this was just icing on the s**t cake for this wonderfully aweful day.

 "Not sleepy...."Demy's tail gave a single wag before curling around the youth's body. Honestly he'd rather be up and enjoying his time with the other two. But, with Sai on such a short fuse, it was dangerous to even talk to her, let alone try and play.

"Okay," Kaleb said simply, but he still turned the TV on mute so he didn't have to listen to the annoying drama. It didn't take much, just a carefully placed tendril of air magic to press the MUTE button on the remote near Demy. He was kind of tired since he usually went to bed early, but he could probably practice his shields a bit before the other two decided to go to sleep.

Sai just glared at the wall, pissed off at both herself, her life, and the horrible situation she was in. Just because this last experiance made it worse didn't mean she had to yell at them about it. She turned her head to look at Kaleb and Demy, damn...that sight made her feel worse. What happened to Demy's stupid yet amusing perverted jokes and Kaleb's oddly cute fidgety way of reacting to them? Guess that went away with her bad attitude. Now that she saw how they looked after what happened, was it pride or just depression that kept her from speaking up?

Just laying still was quickly making the youth very bored. Frightening roommates or not, he had to do SOMETHING. Slowly uncurling, Demy peeked first at Kaleb before braving a peek over at the female as well.

Kaleb channeled the energy to practice a shield spell, but then he noticed Sai glance over in his direction. He fidgeted a bit. He took a deep breath and was about to weave it into a shield, when he noticed Demy peeking at him. He fidgeted more.
How on earth was he supposed to practice if the other two were making him nervous? He figured it was best to start small, conjuring a simple shield in front of him, easily close enough that he could reach out and touch it to examine it's texture and consistency.

Sai bit her lip, keeping her gaze back on the wall from before. The silence was now near maddening for her. She loved peace and quiet but not at the cost of comfort. Coughing rather loudly she mumbled for a moment and then softly spoke, "So..."

Ears perking at the sound of the female's voice, Demy lifted his head to brave another look at her. "So...?"

Kaleb glanced over at Sai, and then over at Demy, before dispelling his shield and creating a more durable one. He stayed silent, but then again, he wasn't overly uncomfortable like Sai, or bored like Demy.

Sai started fidgeting a bit, biting on her thumb. She had spoken first, without thinking at all, no plan on what to say afterwards. Head now turned back to Kaleb and Demy, eyes darting back and forth from boy to boy. Her nervousness finally broke, and she curled into a ball laughing so hard she started to cry, seemingly for no reason at all.

"What's so funny?"The female's sudden laughter had startled the youth. She didn't seem like the type to randomally have the giggles. Cautiously, Demy reached out a paw to prod at the laughing Sai.

"A-are you okay?" Kaleb asked, more nervous than before as he abandoned his shields and went back to fidgeting with his paws.

Sai's laughter continued as she held her sides and curled into herself more, trying desperately to regain her composure. After a few more seconds the laughter subsided and she gasped for air, now replying to Demy's question "I-I don't know...I just couldn't hold it back." Wiping her eyes, she slowly uncurled and sighed.

"You're kinda weird Sai...."Grinning, Demy poked at her a few more times. That finished, the youth turned his gaze towards Kaleb. "What's wrong? Ya sound freaked out...."
