Not really able to say no to Shadi now, Brice followed him to the kitchen, standing in the doorway. The kid really didn't have to do this, but... oh well, might as well let him. It obviously bothered Shadi that Brice had almost left after just getting here. He could afford a little more time here he guessed. Though it was odd, him being thirty and hanging around all these younger guys.

"Anything is fine. Cola if you have it." Brice said, leaning against the kitchen doorframe.

"Mmmm... yep!" He had trotted off towards the refidrerato, opened it, and vanished behind the fridge door - which was black, but was covered completely in clippings from books, newspaper articles and other texts. He popped his head out again, brandishing a Coke in one hand. "Is this good?" he asked. "Or is there anything you'd rather have? I just went to the store yesterday, so we're stocked!" he exclaimed happily. For all his paranoia, Shadi was quite proud of the fact that he had learned to get over it for long enough to do the neccessary shopping.

Gervain frowned, watching the pair head off towards the kitchen, feeling a stirring, twitchy sort of feeling in his stomach. He didn't like seeing Shadi even talking to other guys. He returned to the sitting room. "We apparently have another guest," he explained, his expression clearly expressing that he had not invited this new arrival. "Shadi and... well, whatever his name is, should be in soon unless the latter decides to leave."

Leif bit his lip and nodded, glancing toward the kitchen. He didn't like that extra hint of coldness in Gervain's voice. It reflected the angry battle voice too much. And he wasn't mentally prepared to fight again. It was easy enough to tell that by the way his eyes winced. He slipped his feet out of his shoes and tucked his legs up underneath him. He was so tired. He'd been up all night, then roused from his sleep to fight for his life, and now by some cruel twist of his own curiousity and lack of home, he was here.

Brice took the Cola offered and nodded, popping the can open with a 'schlop' sound. Ah, the sound of a good cold fizzy Cola. It was like heaven to him.

"Nah, this is perfect." he took a big gulp of it, loving the feel of the cold inside his body.

"Thanks kid." Brice said, and walked back out to where Gervainand Leif were. Leif looked ready to pass out, and Gervain... well Gervain just didn't look like a pleasent guy. Though Brice knew he probably looked just as friendly at times.

"Shadi's a nice kid, you should treat him better." Brice said, not caring if he stepped on Gervain's toes or not. He had a feeling, with the whole backpack episode that Gervain probably played little tricks on Shadi like that a lot. Or just didn't treat him as good as he should, it could explain the way Shadi behaved. He sipped at his Cola again, taking a seat.

Leif's eyes snapped open as more people re-entered the room. He narrowly avoided making a tiny whimpering sound, instead turning it into a grunt. He didn't want to be so unaware around all these mages. And he did assume they were all mages, and he was alreayd starting to think he was royally ********. But that was only because his concious mind was still there, still awake, pressing back the subconcious that controlled his frightening power.

"Can I have a can of coke too?" He mumbled. He needed some caffiene, and its harder to poison inside sealed cans, right? Hopefully. His concious said he needed to be alert, petrified the beast of his magic would take over if he fell asleep.

" Very well, then...and since you both want to talk, you can both come and I can make food, since we obviously we be able to enjoy anything from the cafe," With a cheerful smile, he went and grabbed his things, leaving Kiyo staring at Kuno.

" Mama's really a mage?" the child asked, " They're real...? Are you one too?" He seemed confused, but also was growing excited.

Kuno knealed down to the boy's level and smiled warmly. "Shhh....questions later, Kiyo...." he said, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Now we need to go...." he added softly.

Gervain scowled up at the older man, his glittering orange eyes cold with fury. "It's my choice how I treat my lover," he said cooly. His eyes didn't once flick away from the man's face as Leif spoke. Then he called, his voice now loud enough for Shad to hear, "Shadi - get two Cokes and bring them in, will you?"

Shadi poked his head out of the kitchen and nodded. "'Kay!" he called back, trotted back over to the fridge and retreiving the desired beverages. He entered the living room and handed one each to Gervain and Leif. His eyes remained on the latter of the two for a moment or two longer than neccessary, as if he was trying to fix the other's appearance in his memory. He then seemed to realise that this would make the other uncomfortable and gave the other a small smile before diverting his dark blue eyes and sitting down on the loveseat next to Gervain - just as predicted.

Brice just 'hmphd' and gulped more of his cola down, watching Shadi take his place next to Gervain. Lovers huh? That was sure special, or whatever. Brice had nothing against it, though damn, Shadi could have done a little better. Gervain was... well Brice knew he was an a**, but Gervain just seemed like a person one didn't want to mess with, nor be with in any kind of relationship. Granted he'd been a stupid relationship, but at least his ex wasn't a like Gervain. Only annoying and stupid, but he'd gotten a cute little daughter out of the package so he couldn't complain... too much.

Deciding he'd rather stand, Brice was quiet for a bit, not sure if there really was anything to say. He really shouldn't be here, that's what his mind kept telling him. He felt like some pediphile being around these younger guys... not that he wanted to do anything to them, but he was a bit older than them. He knew he should leave, but something made him stay.

"So you two been 'lovers' long?" Brice asked, not really liking to call the two of them that, considering he didn't like Gervain much. Though being a guy with a strong personallity, he tended to dislike or clash with guys like him. It got him into trouble here and there.

Leif's eyes held onto Shadi's face as the other stared at him. He was used to people staring at him for one reason or another. Eyes following him on the street. Even so, he was unnerved by the other sitting so near the man who almost killed him. So calmly, like nothing was wrong, like the world wasn't stretched and tearing at the edges. Or maybe that was just for Leif. He was straining to keep his eyes open, his head pounding from stress and fatigue.

He chugged the cool beverage, wincing at how sharp and stinging the cool bubbles were against his throat... Was he getting sick? His throat felt ragged from wandering in the cold and then fighting. He rubbed his temples. Coming here was such a bad idea...

Shadi had been about to answer - the answer was simple, after all. They had been together for an entire eight years. If that wasn't a long time, he didn't know what was. But Gervain cut him off. "Yes... we've been together for about two years," he said. He was a master of controlling his controlling what emotions he displayed on his face and there was currently a happy smile on his face - although anyone who looked close enough might be able to tell that his eyes did not at all match the smile. Shadi looked slightly confused for a moment and then realisation hit him. It would look weird if Shadi had been with someone for eight years - particularly because he was only sixteen.

Kaya smiled at Kiyo."He's right you know. Now's really not the best time. Maybe later you might get your answers." he leaned down enough so he could whisper in the boys ear,"By the way your.." he cleared his throat slightly before continuing,"uh, Mama, is really special you know. I don't have time to talk very often but he really is, you know." he sat back upright and hoped Shiyaa hadn't heard. "You take care of him don't'cha?" he had finally forced his tears to stop and he was able to talk normally now.

"Mmn," Skyy mummed while drinking in such a way as if to say 'Oh, sure' with Kalen's defensive tone. With the cellphone in his hand, he examined it, quick to learn which button was which. Not much different than his own, he noted mentally. "If you're going to get into the subject of earning our drinks, you may as well break open the whole case. It's been a rough and very tedious day.. or at least I think it has." He hid a slight frown behind the lip of the bottle before draining the rest of the bottle in one swig. Setting the empty glass between his legs, his fingers once more dialed the number to his house.

It picked up by the second ring.

"Hey, Mike. Yeah, it's me," he started, resting back on the couch. "No, I left with a.. friend. You wouldn't know him.. I wouldn't necessarilly say 'fatal'. Better than I expected, though. Just give the confirmation.. Regretfully, no. Then again, there was much I could do to check. Yep, looks like you're going shopping. No questions, just do it. Bye!" And he hung up the phone.

"Persuasion," he said with a grin. "A God-given gift." In his case, it was more like he was slightly spoiled. His family back home often sent his uncle money for having taken Skyy along with him, and the youth expected a good wad of the said cash to go towards himself.
A crimson brow rose curiously as he watched the other down the drink so quickly in the soft light. He held his own half-empty bottle in his lap, index finger smoothly gliding over the rim in continuous circles. He looked down in his lap at the drink. Skyy had a point... there couldn't be a limit on the number of drinks you earn by getting hit by a cab or getting in a car accident. It had been a rough day. But... Kalen hardly ever drank beer. In any case, as Skyy began speaking to his uncle, Kalen's eyes settled on the empty bottle in his lap and he felt the urge to play the part of a host and get the other another drink. When the dark-haired boy hung up, Kalen smiled mildly. "I suppose that's a good thing to have..." he agreed, looking back down at his drink. He paused for a moment before consuming the second half of his drink in a long swig. Kalen then held out his hand for the other boy's empty bottle. "I'll go get the case..."

Kuno smirked when he heard what Kaya had whispered. He only heard it due to the earring he wore, the Stone of the Wolf. He'd found it a few months earlier on a Dungeons and Dragons website, and decided to make it real and make it his own.

Apple cocked his head to one side, confused. The rents...? "Umm... I just... I live with my family... I help out around the house and sometimes do part time jobs," he said with a bit of a shrug. His hands were scrunched up under the table, clutching the hem of his sweatshirt, his legs kicking slightly under the table out of habbit. He really did look like a child, especially with the way he acted.
