Hello, new people!
Let me second Fairgrass in saying the Romance subforum hasn't seen much action. For that matter, try all the subforums! They could all use some love.

Hey everyone, I'm Gek. (My username is pretty long and I've just found that to be the best way to shorten it.) I'm 18 and will be a college freshman in the fall.
My favorite genres are fantasy and historical fiction, but I try to branch out. I don't have a particular favorite author, but I like Jane Austen, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes, and Markus Zusak. I don't think I can pick out a favorite book either. There's too many for me to choose from!

Hi, I'm Fran, and I'm a Youth Services Librarian. I end up reading almost soley juvenile and young adult books for readers advisory purposes. I might be a little clueless where adult books are concerned! But if anyone needs a young adult book recommendation, I'm all over that.
My favorite authors are J. K. Rowling and Philip Pullman. My favorite adult writer is David Sedaris.
This guild looks like fun, and I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you! smile

Hello Fran, Maisy. Welcome to the guild.
@Fran: I'm a great fan of children's and young adult literature. It would be great to have more topics about it.

Hi everyone! umm...I'm Berry (from my username to make it easy) or Sam (If you care to remember incase I change my username ahaha).
I absolutely love reading. Some of my favorites are "The Book Thief" "Wind in the Willows" "Alice in Wonderland" "Flowers for Algernon" "Pride and Prejudice" "Cirque du Freak" (series) and "Harry Potter" because it's what got me started reading in the first place.
I live in New York and I'm going to be a sophmore in high school this year. Also, I am a regular theater dork. Cool yes? cool ahaha!
It's so nice to meet all of you n_n

My, my, I went directly to posting without introducing myself. How rude of me, but later is always better than never. I'm Aedes and I'll be internationally legal this december, that is, I'll be 21. I'm not of an ocious girl as I'd like sometimes to be I'm currently studying a career (3th year of seven). Books have been my passion since I was little (even before I could read) and I blame my mom for pushing me to learn reading before the kids my age (she got tired of reading for me, even now I can remember what she said "You want to hear the tale? Well, I'm not gonna read it for you so you better read it yourself"). I can't say I have a favorite author or a favorite book, I read what I can. I like almost all genres though mistery, horror and fantasy are the ones I like the most. And that's the basic me. Happy to meet you.

Hello! (wow, that's redundant...)
I suppose my name shall be Muffin. I am currently a freshman in the US, and perhaps one of the few people supporting reading outside of class.
Out of the 2,600 people that go to my school, ten are in the bookclub, and my friend and I are the only two freshman in it.
I'm not sure if I have a favorite author or not. I love the classics - Austen, Dickens, Shakespeare, etc. - and, truthfully, I'm a bit picky about the books I read now, for they are mostly YA, and therefore often do not possess deep storylines.
Anyway, I'm very excited about joining this awesome guild, so, yay!

Yo peeps! <-This is me being "hip" and "cool". Yeah... I'm gonna fit in perfectly here!
Lemme see... My favourite books... The Farseer Trilogy, The Liveship Traders Trilogy, The Tawny Man Trilogy, Harry Potter, The Picture of Dorien Gray, The Discworld series, The Black Magician Trilogy, Merchant of Venice, The Old Kingdom Series, Eragon, Angels and Demons, The Da Vinci Code, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Dracula, Artemis Fowl, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, The Louise Trilogy, The Bartimaeus Trilogy, Maximum Ride, The Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy series, Alchemist, Gone With the Wind The Vampire Chronicles...
Yeah, I think I went a little overboard, but you get the picture. Mostly fantasy, with a bit of everything else thrown into the mix.
As for authors/poets, whatever: Robin Hobb, Trudi Canavan, Peter James, Dan Brown, Eoin Colfer, Garth Nix, John Keats, T.S. Eliot
Yep, thats everything. Possibly. Maybe. Not.

Hallo people! You can see my username is Arachnakid but I usually go by A-kid or Katt (my mule is Arachnakatt.)
My favorite book is my best friend Trivia_Master's "travel copy" of His Dark Materials (includes written commentary in the margins; her "home copy" is on display in her house.) I also like Where the Red Fern Grows.
My favorite author by far is Mercedes Lackey, but I also like Anne McCaffrey, Pierres Anthony, and Andre Norton. Obviously, my favorite genres are fantasy and sci-fi.
My parents are serious geeks/nerds (aka smart people) and when I was 3 years old I mainly taught myself to read because I saw them doing it all the time. On my first day of kindergarten my mom told the teacher that she thought I was reading at about 4th grade level, but the teacher pretty much blew her off...until the first parent-teacher conference. I am more than a bit of a grammar nazi but I will try to keep my impulsive corrections to a minimum. sweatdrop
