i just like. read it. thought "well that was kind of boring". and probably won't re-read it. o_o; i'm kind of glad it's over 'cause now i don't need to be like "omg must buy book on day of release and finish before book is spoiled by someone who reads faster" every time a new one is out. whee

haha in my opinion, the book was anything but boring.. tho at some parts i was all "just DO this already!" it was more from nerves/frustration than boredom. domokun

feeling like that means i have to put effort into something. i'm lazy. gonk
i didn't really like a lot of the book much at all. i like book 6 best.

You are indeed evil.
Anyway, there's word that JKR is most likely going to release a Harry Potter encyclopedia that may explain most of the burning questions we had at the end of the series, but if it's true it won't be out for a long while.

of course. its in my name. cool
i guess ima hafta get that encyclopedia when it comes out. mebbe she can also include stories past & future about people in the harry potter universe.. kind of like the silmarillion does for lord of the rings. also, here are a few links to info that jk gave on extended epilogue info.
How about the character that JKR originally wanted to kill off and the 2 characters that were originally supposed to be alive?
Arthur Weasley was supposed to die in book 5 (I assume when Nagini attacked him), but was decided to be kept alive. I'm glad that he was kept alive, though, because if he died it would have taken away a lot of the shock of Sirius dying.
I didn't agree with the killing off Lupin and Tonks in the last book, however, especially the way she chose to do so. There was no detail as to how they died or even who killed them (until she mentioned it on an interview later on). I suppose that she wanted to create another character that was born without parents, but I didn't think it was necessary.
I agree with you Shaolin, killing off Tonk and Lupin wasn't good because as you said we don't know who killed them or how they died unless we checked online sites and other places.
Even if Lupin was a "fatherly figure" to Harry it doesn't make sense to kill them as it sounds as if Harry's last hope is gone. But eh that may be just me.
I think it was also unecessary as it just leaves a kid without his parents so it seems that it's Harry Potter all over again cept he's not the boy who lived.
yea shaolin! apparently mr. weezy was sposed to bite the big one in the fifth book... but i think jk made the right choice by allowing him to make a full recovery. she mentioned in the articles linked above that she kept him alive because he is pretty much the only good father figure that harry has (not to say dumbledore wasnt great, but he just wasnt a family man i guess).
my guess was that one of the weasley parents was going to be sacrificed in book 7.. mainly due to their family having just way too many members to come out unscathed (bill's mangling doesnt count as a loss)... my thoughts were that a parent was going to die saving percy, finally bringing an end to his douschebaggery and him back into the ranks of the good guys. burning_eyes
unfortunately, i was wrong on all counts.. and she instead opted to disfigure and sacrifice the twinses.

as far asthe lupins are concerned.. yea, i think she handled it quite wrong. i cant fault her for killing them off, because she mentioned that she wanted to hammer down the fact that war creates losses for many.. but id have at least liked to hear mention a small battle and death scene. the last we saw of lupin, he was an almost-beaten man.. somewhat pathetic in his willingness to leave his family. i wanted retribution for him and his family.. show them going down fighting at least! scream
with their deaths, she also mentioned in the articles that she wanted to echo the same losses that harry had from the last war with voldemort.. i can understand this too, but its a pretty weak point considering his godfather/sirius is the indestructible harry freakin potter.

I actually thought Mrs. Weasley might have died trying to save one of her children (or Harry). But it turned out that not only did she not die, but she was powerful enough to defeat Bellatrix!
When Percy showed up I immediate thought that he was going to be the Weasley to be go. It would have been such a devastating blow if the just-reunited son were to be killed moments later. And I thought it was going to happen during the scene with Percy and Fred, but I was wrong. T__T
