Arianah, some people are just asses like that. rolleyes

Well, maybe you should let the ILs know that like only 3% of babies are born on their due date, least I think that's the number.

We called them today after the doctor's appointment where we found out there was no progression, and they're looking into changing their flight to come later. I'm really glad.

I myself was 2 weeks overdue exactly, and they had to induce my mom because I still wasn't wanting to be born. blaugh

Tetravus's parents just called to say that they're changing their flight to come out from October 19-23. Much better! I feel so much less stress about that now. Hee hee! Watch Boo be born tomorrow since they changed their flight.

Hm.... A rant I say.

Well a handful of you know I was accepted into this guild although I am 13. Well, there are a bunch of people who don't like that.

I made a thread that said if they wanted my advice. You know, aiming for a 'child point of view' thing but no, instead of asking for advice, they started to rant about how "I was just a kid and couldn't help them". Lighten up people! You people just can't deal with a child trying to help you, and that's your problem. You don't want my advice? Don't take it and don't ask for it. That's the bottom line, but no, they had to post and tell me that I'm too young to know what the heck I'm doing.

I thought you all, being adults, would know how to handle yourselves. It seems I'm mistaken, because some of you adults can't deal with a kid trying to help you through your problems.

If you didn't like my advice, you didn't have to follow it, if you did, you should. I wasn't forcing you to ask, and I wasn't forcing you to read or do them now was I? :/

Who am I to say this? I'm just giving a rant in a rant thread. Although, now-a-days, freedom-of-speech is a figure-of-speech

xp Okies rant of the day...I clean my entire house s**c and span even *gasp* scrubbed the toilet gunk that wouldn't come out w/ a brush. Thank God for gloves and antibacterial soap. But that's besides the point. I sat down to put the baby to sleep for his nap and in 5 minutes, my oldest had it so trashed you couldn't tell I did a blessed thing. *sigh* and I was so proud of me too. gonk

stare Spur of the moment rant: people who aren't on birth control, or aren't even female, and lecture you about the risks and side effects of birth control.

I have someone on my friendslist who is considering asking his girlfriend to go on Depo when they see each other next summer, because they want to have sex together non-stop again when they meet up again. rolleyes They're both 17. He is now telling me that I am "obviously unaware of the side-effects" (aside from the ones I mentioned in my PM to him), and is saying that there is a 1% chance that if a woman is on Depo, she will "never be able to get pregnant."

I have not heard that online, I have not heard it from my doctor, and I didn't see it mentioned anywhere in the booklet that came with my Depo package prescription. First time anyone's mentioned it to me.
What I HAVE heard is that after a woman goes off of Depo, if she's been on it for at least a year or two, she might have trouble getting pregnant again until the hormones are out of her body completely (which can apparently take up to a year or two for some people).

He's also saying his girlfriend should go on Depo because "at the rate of 3 - 30 condoms a day, those figures speak for themselves." Yeah right. I've never heard of someone using 30 condoms in one day, male or female. (I mean no offense to anyone, it just seems like he's exaggerating a bit)
I told him it would be for his girlfriend and her doctor/gyno to decide, not him. It's her body, therefore her decision.

Sorry, that's my rant before I head off to bed. I've been on the Pill, and I am on Depo (1 year in January), so I like to think I know a little about it and some of the side effects on a woman's body. I told him to talk to a doctor with his girlfriend, because if he "wants to take that 1% chance", then maybe they shouldn't go on Depo.

On a side note: If someone can back this guy up on what he's saying, I don't mind. I just don't like being told something that I've never heard before anyways, or being treated like I'm an idiot. He said the comment was in Bondage Zombie's guild, so I asked him for the link, and am waiting to see if he will provide it. I will continue to stay on Depo, despite the supposed 1% risk, because it's the most effective birth control I can get my hands on, and it works.

UPDATE: The link he found to the thread in Bondange Zombie's guild.

One person said it. I'm not going to believe such a dumb statistic just because one person on Gaia says it's true. I'll believe it when I hear it from my doctor or my gyno.

I've heard something to that effect actually about Depo. But I'd have to hunt. I know more about the risks of breastfeeding on depo which is not in the pamphlet and OBGYNs swear isn't true, yet me and my collegues see if all the time. Woman comes in to our office with a 4 month old baby saying "I don't know why my supply has dropped so low" Sometimes the supply dip is irreversable since it takes so long for the hormones to clear the system. It is only after we do a full medical history that we find out they took the shot a week or two ago. But that is where I put my focus on Depo and all birth control methods. Men however insisting their women get on hormonal birth control so they don't have to restrain themselves drives me batty LOL. I say "No uterus, no say" but that's me he he he.

I was on Depo for over a year, and it didn't affect my fertility. I only got the side-effects of having no period xd and a bit of weight gain sad .
