I guess you did. 3nodding
I'll just quickly point out that one generally uses 使う(tsukau) for 'to use'. Also, you got your order of words wrong. In fact, your whole second sentence sounds rather awkward and incorrect.
How about: あなたは「ジャパニース」を使いました。でも「ジャパニース」の代わりに「日本語」を使うはずだを思います。 Anata wa "Japanese" wo tsukaimashita. Demo "Japanese" no kawari ni "nihongo" wo tsukau to omoimashita. You used "Japanese". But I think that in place of "Japanese", [the term] "nihongo" is supposed to be used.
Well, there are plenty of ways to say it, but that's what I came up with... even though that isn't really the easiest way to say it, I guess. 'Kangaeru' may very well work in this situation, but I usually use 'omou' when it comes to what I'm currently thinking about. Personal preference.
日本語はなかなか難しいですね。 Nihongo wa nakanaka muzukashii desu ne? Japanese is pretty difficult, isn't it?

Konichiwa. Watashi wa Ze-Hyan desu, soshite watashi wa Amerikajin desu. Doozo yoroshiku. Good afternoon. I'm Che-Hyun, and I'm American. Nice to meet you.
How would you say it's fun to speak Japanese? I'll make a pathetic attempt:
Tanoshii wa nihongo imasu (?) o desu ka.
Nihongo wa omoishiroi desu yo. Japanese is interesting!
That was not right at all, I can feel it. Oh well. Aiko (le Nihongo one)...I read your article on 'wa' and 'ga' but I still can't understand the difference between them and when to use them.

That was not right at all, I can feel it. Oh well. Aiko (le Nihongo one)...I read your article on 'wa' and 'ga' but I still can't understand the difference between them and when to use them. first: che hyun works fine in japanese (チェヒュン) second, like wakaru can be used for shiru, omoshiroi can be used for fun but to literally say "speaking japanese is fun" 日本語を話すのは、楽しい(面白い)(です) nihongo wo hanasu no wa, tanoshii(omoshiroi)(desu) 1: this sentence sounds more natural using omoshiroi 2: the desu can be dropping because: the verb to be (is am are) does not TRUELY exist at japanese. desu/da/degozaimasu/dearu are only used for: masculinity politness adding a closing feeling to the sentence sometimes it just is stare of course じゃない・だった・じゃなかった must be used. (also da/desu/degozaimasu/dearu may not be use as adjective whereas all it other forms can (verbs do this to) ) and truely: Tanoshii wa nihongo imasu (?) o desu ka. is pathetic and wrong sweatdrop
