They had, of course, informed her it would be some sort of test of strength. A fight, she had assumed.
Well, they weren't wrong.
At the very shock of seeing some facsimile of herself, Hollandaise literally bristled. Thorns broke through her skin, her sap-like blood glistening on their points. There was something inherently offensive about a copy of herself, something that smacked of seconds chances that should not be given, of places that she could not longer fit. Hollandaise bared her teeth and barreled into herself.

Harmony could not believe the utter gall required to think up such an event. It was bad enough that she had to participate under the monster dorms due to her living situation (the dorm exercise outfit was hideous, too), but her double was wearing an ugly sweater. And jeans. It was like looking at someone entirely other than herself.
Which should have made it easier to hit if she wasn't in such shock.

Her mouth twisted behind the surgical mask she always wore. Why was everyone making her work? Her tail lashed out as she stood there, arms crossed over her flat chest. The teeth slashed at the garish sweater. Even being nude was better than wearing that.

The resemblance in the body was near-perfect though, she thought idly. Harmony wondered if it was exactly the same, but there would be no way to find out beyond a stripshow. How low-brow.

Every self-respecting red lamprey demon (she could not speak for the white lampreys - they were far too inbred with monsters to adhere to any form of demonic code) knew to use their tail at every conceivable time. The nails, the mouth, these were left as surprises or desperate measures.
