She is done! She was going to play games require her mind, not her luck. The handle couldn't be pulled down after her fifth spin and an attendant scooted near to ask her to leave with a polite standard smile.

"I can sit here all night," Lissa mused to herself, letting another coin roll down the machine's chute. "Just keep giving me those numbers."
The bell rang off louder this time, and Lissa watched with excitement as five glittering coins fell into the tray instead. "Oooh, honey, now we're talking," she chuckled, pocketing her win. Everything from here on out was straight profits.

The coins in her pocket were starting to feel heavier, but she needed more. She cranked the slot machine again, ignoring the inquiring look she received from the casino staff.
Again, the machine lit up, and five more coins tumbled down. "Hell yeah, that's what I like to hear!" Lady Luck was on her side tonight, even if only in bits and pieces.

Someone in a uniform began to talk down into their radio, making glances at Lissa that even she couldn't avoid. "Okay, okay, just one more time," she murmured to herself, pulling the lever with one last furtive crank.
A smaller bell rang out, and three coins came free from their prison. "I'll take it," Lissa said as she snatched her small prize, ducking out of sight of the leering casino official. "Sheesh, what's the point of these machines if they don't even want you to play?"

Though she would have wanted to boycott this asinine plot they had forced all of them into, Lease found she couldn't escape the allure of the slot machines. They were loud, had flashy lights and themes and everything - much better than the online versions. One was even Batman themed.
How could she resist?
Sidling over to the machine, she placed one of her coins in and pulled the lever. The thing rattled and spun, the lights flashed and eventually the digital middle part stopped. Coins came out. Huh, she'd won something.
