July became aware of himself, wondering what exactly he'd been so lost in thought over that he'd completely blanked on what it was he was doing. The weight of his shotgun was still in his hands. Jay had given him it as a present as a means to keep himself safe.
The familiar weight wasn't enough however to comfort him, something was wrong. The mall needed him. A large massive snake-like creature threatened them all. While it was not attacking the mere site of it made him sick. He raised the barrel of his gun, and took aim, firing without hesitation.

His body trembled as a bead of sweat trickled down his back. July's next shot was not as clean as those that had come before it. Wielding the shotgun was difficult, and made his ears ring dully from the violent sounds coming with each squeeze of the trigger.

July was beginning to find a comfortable rhythm, while the noise from the gun still made him jump each time he would pull the trigger he aimed for the center mass of the serpent and unleashed another blast at the hideous snake thing.

Just when he thought he'd found his stride he stumbled just as he went to fire. He nearly crashed to the ground, feeling himself panting and resisting the urge not to throw up.

As he was forced to retreat, July took one more shot at the creature. It scored it's mark onto it's flesh, before the will to fight was no more. Preservation kicked in in, retreating to a a safer distance. The sickness in his body lessened once he was further away from the massive serpent.

Once she got her stomach to settle, Ellie moves back onto the battle field.
She was about to dash in when she noticed someone swinging at the creature with their pole... Why hadn't she thought of that!? She smiles slightly to herself as she unhooks the hook from one of the rings and casts it out! When she felt the hook catch, she jerks it! Ellie had fished before and she knew how to set the hook pretty well!
Unfortunately, the small hook didn't do as much damage as just stabbing it... Also, what she hadn't thought about was getting the hook out... Roaring angrily at being hooked, the creature whips out it's tail nd sends her skidding along the floor again! Fortunately, the hook came loose with that stunt at least...
