Chica was entranced by his display for a few moments, until she finally looked at the screen. ...2 points"o.o" Chica hopped from Alex's head to the machine's top, checked to make sure he wasn't looking, then sent a discreet current of electricity into the machine. When she hoped back, the score red a whopping 16,000. Much better.
Taking a deep breath, she went into a tent with a bunch of different kinds of arcade games, settling on a really simple looking one. She actually got a decent score. The machine spit out seven tickets, and Autumn was feeling much better about her luck now. She hoped things will start to look up more while she continued to play games.

✿ ❀ Isis rolled her eyes a bit at Leon's comment, trying not to let her amusement show. She was still kind of mad at him for his comment but who could resist that cheesy grin. Ugh. It was annoying how hard it was to stay mad at him. The concessions would help though, maybe food would be a nice excuse for her mood lifting back up. That and Dumuzi and Theo being able to arrive. As they stood in line, Theo inquired a bit about the dance party and how frequent it was for two island to host them. Isis left that one for Leon to answer, given that he knew a lot more about this stuff than she did.
Besides, she was up next to order food, so she got her water and bean buns before stepping to the side and letting Dumuzi order. She seemed pretty interested in what Isis had bought, getting the same thing herself before moving aside as well to let Leon decide on his food. Meanwhile Isis and Dumuzi both dug into their bean buns with relish, Dumuzi a bit faster than Isis, managing to finish and then ask if she could ask Isis a question. "Sure! Fire away~" Isis encouraged with a smile, nodding as Dumuzi asked if she'd been to a lot of contests because of her work.
The next question though, Isis had to think about for a bit. "Hmm... That's a good question.... Really, there isn't a general type of 'contest people'. Everyone is unique, they have their own quirks to make them stand out and be noticed more, either from their elaborate costumes or their signature pokemon, even the move combinations they've created to dazzle the audience." Isis explained thoughtfully. "Every time I think I've seen it all, I meet someone new, or see something so different and wonderful. I've met all kinds of people. I suppose if I had to narrow it down into categories, I'd say you have the snobs, typically the ones who participate in elite beauty competitions. The fuss over their pokemon so much and are always pretty rude to anyone who hasn't earned their respect. They practically consider themselves royalty and expect to be treated as such. I guess that sort of thing works for some audiences, people seem to be drawn to them because they're always so calm and cool on stage. I think it gives people something to look up to and want to emulate, I don't particularly see why you would want to be rude and fussy all the time though..." Clearly Isis wasn't very fond of these types of people.
With a sigh, Isis moved on in her explaination. "Then you have the really bubbly fun coordinators who are just so excited about contests, like me! They're just happy to be there and they clearly love their pokemon and are proud of them but in a sort of best friend or motherly way, and are happy to show off. They're the people pleasers, the people who love to 'wow' judges and the audiences with cool move combinations." Isis explained with a grin. "Then you have the nerds, and I say that with the utmost affection of course. They appear in the smart contests with their robotic pokemon like Porygon and try to show how careful calculations and combinations of moves at just the right moment can earn you a victory. They dress up pretty funny a lot of the time, so it's interesting to watch, and I have to admit the combinations are pretty brilliant." Isis shrugged, moving on to the next category. "And then there's what I call the 'athletic group', all the muscle heads and the cool cats entering tough and cool contests. They look like blackbelts or boxers, guitarists and bikers, the ones who want to show off the power of their pokemon in a contest rather than all the glitz and glamor of the cute and beauty contests. This is where you find the tomboyish girls and the guys who want to prove that contests aren't just a girl's game. The trendsetters, the alternatives, the rebels. It's pretty awesome to watch, I mean, I've always favored beauty contests myself, but it's a nice change to go see a cool contest or tough contest every once in a while and admire the strength of a pokemon in a place other than a gym. I've seen Machamp lift entire risers of people with only ONE of their four arms. It's awesome!" Isis said excitedly. "And that's just some pretty loose categories of a lot of stereotypes for each contest. It's the best I can give as a summation, but the reality is, everyone's different, you just have ti figure out how to stand out in a crowd, get people to notice you by being.... Well.... You. Just with a few exaggerated characteristics of yourself." Isis shrugged and gave a smile, hoping that was a good enough explanation to satisfy Dumuzi's inquiry. ✿ ❀

Theo looked at Leon as he answered his question. So, it was sort of a tradition's tradition then....What the heck was he saying? Tradition's tradition? Thank the heavens he hadn't said that aloud."Sounds fun! I just hope I don't end up being kicked out for being an awful dancer. And....Partier, I guess."Talking about this remained him of a ball he attended once when he was nine. He'd knocked over a caterer by accident and ran to his room crying of embarrassment. Looked like Theodore spotted him. He looked happy to see him. Was it because he liked the security Aston provided or because he had taken them up on their idea? The knight wasn't sure, but regardless, knowing Theodore was happy to see Aston there was a relief. Giving a brief bow to Theodore, Aston looked away to give him some form of privacy with his new friends and focused on watching Presa play the games. He watched Nachtigal try to climb up his leg, and after a few failures, Aston knelt to pick the Piplup up before petting him. Okay, so the name he had chosen was only fitting in name, but still.
Two out three bottles was actually a very good result, especially since the two rings just seemed to glide gracefully to the bottles. Presa was very happy to be doing so well. Aston would be swimming in a sea of tickets in no time!

Dumuzi’s eyes softened as she listened to Isis tell about all the general groups of people who were in the contest areas. It was certainly interesting to hear about it and it was a good heads up for her too, it sounded like there was everyone from all walks of life for you to meet there. Dumuzi bit into her next bun as she continued to listen to the explanation that was given to her. ”It really sounds like you’ve been to a lot of contests before. My mom mentioned that she had been a few contest before but she never really got into it too much. I don’t know if she just missed it too much or my brother and I just didn’t have much interest in it. Honestly, I don’t recall ever seeing a contest performed before so everything is going to be really new to me. It sounds like it could be quiet an adventure.” And honestly, it sounded more than a little intimidating as well for her. Some of those people sounded like the ones that would pick on her at school because she just… didn’t quite fit in. She had always been the weird one, the outcast of the school and the invisible person who just did their own thing until someone wanted someone to put down or otherwise make miserable. She wondered if she would fit in… and how? She couldn’t help but wonder if she would end up like she did back in her younger school years. It wasn’t something that Dumuzi was getting a lot of confidence from. Dumuzi took a deep breath and looked upwards for a moment. ”I… I don’t know how I’m going to find a way to stand out amongst all of that. They all sound like they have their own interesting little personalities and quirks that make them stand out and be special in their own way. Honestly, I’ve never really done anything to stand out before and I’m not sure how to go about it. When I first heard about this stuff from Taz –the Coordinator who showed me the ropes- I was thinking that I would make my own costumes and stuff, but it seems like that might be something that won’t necessarily be enough. I can’t help but think this is just as much of a showing of you than it is your pokemon…”
Dumuzi honestly had never thought of it that way before, she had assumed that it was going to be all about the pokemon and the performances, but with all the personalities there and the way that Isis described their interaction with the crowds, she was starting to feel a little less confident. Snobs, nerds, toughies and Cool kids… she was already starting to feel a bit overwhelmed. She had spent so long trying to blend in or be noticed by going with the flow that this wasn’t something that she was going to find very easy.
And yet, despite her sudden fear and apprehension, she felt a little bit more liberated.
She didn’t have to be anyone but who she was, and all though she didn’t really understand how you were yourself with a few traits exaggerated, it sounded like it could be a lot of fun. The thought made her feel nervous to be sure, she already had butterflies in her stomach just thinking about it. But if there was a chance to be herself, wasn’t that worth taking the chance for? Despite this train of thought, there was a certain, strange comfort in the status quo of being just… normal and mundane. This was going to have to be something that she really worked on. Something that she would have to take step by step and discover on her own… and maybe during the process she could find out who she really was, where ‘Feya’ fit into all of this and what was the thing that made her feel whole. She didn’t realize when she decided to give this a try that she would be thrust into a situation where she really had to think about who she really was. Then again, this was why she started her journey was it not? It was funny how things turned out, perhaps it was just as much her destiny to steal Titania and do this as it was for her to come across this interesting and complicated interaction of worlds that they called ‘Pokemon Contests’.
”When I first took off on my pokemon journey I wanted to make a team of Fairy pokemon. I can’t explain why very well, but I’ve always felt this strange sort of connection with them. I’m going to keep with my fairy type team and win all the categories that are out there. I’m not sure how many people have Fairy types in the contest ring, but I’m going to do my best to show that my favorite pokemon can be everything, even Tough and Cool, the things that people don’t usually think that Fairy types are.” Dumuzi looked down at her half eaten Red Bean bun that was still in her hand. She gave something of a rather… defeated chuckle. ”No, maybe that shouldn’t be my goal. I think I should make that my secondary objective and make my primary objective with this to have fun and learn about myself and my pokemon more. I started my journey as a pokemon trainer because I wanted to get out of my big brothers shadow and give my parents something to be proud of me for, and by doing so, I put so much pressure on myself that every little set back or defeat on my end only made things hurt more, it made the challenges more daunting and it stripped the fun out of things for me. So, maybe I should try Coordinating from a different perspective and see if that works for me. It may sound silly, but maybe just having a goal like that would make things less stressful. If I challenge myself to do better next time or to keep up and improve what I have, maybe it would be more to my advantage. I don’t have to be a top Coordinator, if I get there along the way then that’ll be just the cherry on top, right?” Dumuzi tossed a look over to Isis as though she was hoping for some level of confirmation to her train of thought, she just couldn’t muster a mentally of ‘win, win, win’ as it wasn’t within her. She didn’t want to win at all costs, she wanted to win because it was something that she was passionate about and loved doing, just like what Miss Viola said. Maybe that way, defeats and setbacks wouldn’t so much as hurt as they would be a minor disappointment, but something you could walk away from as a learning experience. Dumuzi’s face lighted up a little bit. ”My youthful inexperience is showing, isn’t it?”
Dumuzi took another bit of her snack. ”So, is there a certain category that you really like maybe more than the others, and are there certain pokemon that you love to see perform?” Dumuzi was genuinely curious, she had never seen a show before so she was interested to see if there were any crowd favourites, and if so, how she might be able to sway some opinions more in her directions with the display of her Fairy types.

Blushing a bit when Down bowed to him, Theo scratched his cheek and looked away coyly. Jeez....He was so formal. It was sometimes annoying. Looking at Dumuzi as he spoke, Theo stayed quiet. But, he did think Dumuzi would stand out. In a good way, of course! He was just so....Theo didn't know the word. But, there was something about Dumuzi that just made him pop out.
Theo landed two rings on two bottles. He was certainly doing well so far. Pocketing the five award tickets, Theo hummed and moved onto the next game.

Press peeked into the arcade tent and looked around. Those were some weird games. Walking up to one, she jumped onto the stool provided and looked at it. After a few minutes of watching some of the other players, she was confident she could do well. And, she certainly did!
