Rota trusted Alyx. His skill was one that he used as a baseline for what he should try to accomplish. He knew that if Alyx was near him, he could depend on him. As the spider careened near him, he brought his around to his left side over his head, and brought it down on the arachnid with ruthless vengeance. Rota brought his blade down, and ground the spider into the rock of the cave floor, pivoted to its left side, and while still forcing it into the ground, he pitched his sword forward to his right side, returning the spider to sender. Name: Rota Level: 1 HP:21 Rota smiled as he shouldered his sword once more. "Well, when the time for that comes, I'll be there. I wouldn't miss a battle alongside you for the world." History is built of failure after failure until one rises and builds their throne atop the failed legacies of the ones before. He felt that he had been reduced to being the footstool of the throne too many times. This was his chance to build himself a throne, and even there were ones erected beside his, that did not mean his would be ignored. All he needed to do was not trip at the finish line. Roll1 63+10=73*1.5=109 Roll2 8 Name: Rota Level: 1 HP:21 Rota clenched his left hand into a fist, and pounded into his right pec, doing a short bow in reciprocation. He hadn't known Alyx for very long, but he was a trustworthy ally for this harsh world they were both trying to trailblaze through. As he pulled up out of his bow, he saw a spider trying to take advantage of their respectfulness, only to get slapped towards him by his brother in arms. The creature had no idea what punishment it was in for. Even if it did, Rota did not care as he felt his muscles tense and his grip in his right hand tighten on his sword. Rota lurched forward, bringing his right arm forward and cutting the spider down the middle vertically. As the sword was buried in the ground, he used it as a pivot point and shifted to his right towards Alyx so that his back was facing him. During the motion, he used his leverage to pull the sword out of the ground and back onto his shoulder. It still made him wonder where that strength was coming from. "We're doing a fair job of thinning them out, I'll say." He hadn't been keeping track of how many they'd killed, but Rota had the quest, so he'd be the one to know when they were done. Alyx was having fun slaughtering spiders. For some reason (probably the immense piles of loot he received from killing them) they were his favorite mob. He just had incredible luck. He was wearing nothing but spiders at this point, and he was not the least bit bothered by that. He was the Gloomking, a White Knight, dressed in silk and shimmering armor. He looked fantastic, was his point. Name: Rota Level: 1 HP:21 Rota cracked his neck as he waited for the next one to line up. "Yeah, that one makes eight. Just two more to go." it was crazy how easy of a time they were having with this. Rota attributed it to the Gloomking, mostly. he was a tremendous asset, and Rota had no idea what he would do without him. That needed to change. If Alyx went down, or he was on his own, he had to be able to stand on his own. He could not co-depend on Alyx. it wasn't fair to him, and it wasn't a long term strategy. They'd be able to start really working once Rota got his level up a bit. Soon, they'd be able to take as many spiders as they wanted, or could move on to take boars. Alyx was a little let down that none of the spiders had stood back up, if only for his own personal edification. He wanted to get more of those trophies. With all of the spiders he'd killed, he only had one spider trophy. Statistically, he should have had many more, but maybe they were just rarer. A way to be kinder to the newbies, he figured... But would the admin really do that? Enough level ones had died already fighting spiders that it didn't seem like they should care if they make it a little more terrifying for them... Roll1 7+10=17*1.5=25 Roll 2 89 Name: Rota Level: 1 HP:21 As Rota was thinking to himself, he saw the next contender leap from out of the undergrowth directly at Alyx. This would not stand.This was an agreement between him and his brother in arms, and as such was not a moment to be interrupted. He cocked back his sword past his left shoulder and struck out at the offending arachnid. Rota's blade swung true as he moved past the creature with his strike, slicing it but good on its own left side. Few spiders survived a combined strike between Alyx and he, so he turned his back on it to keep appraised of any other threats in the area. All of this commotion couldn't be good. Name: Rota Level: 1 HP:21 Like Lemmings to the cliff, the Spiders could not escape the wrath of the warriors near their cave. He almost felt bad at the slaughter they had caused adjacent to their den. None of them had been able to put up an admirable fight...At all. He squeezed the leather of his vest as he remembered the Boar that was the only worthy opponent he had faced so far. It had taught him so much about how to fight in the gloomwood. "Nine down. One left." He couldn't falter or show mercy. The woman had entrusted this task to him, and he fully intended to see it through to the end, tedious or not. Current skills in use: current equipment:
