Cody heard what she said but thinking it over with how she said but before he could say anything, he was distracted from her scent by the ringing of the bell but he then went back to how her scent got his attention, "So I assume that its time?" he asked a bit shyly, his tail swaying gently behind him.

Aslinn watched him getting more distracted by his scent and she wondered even more so if he was her mate. When he asked about the bell she pushed a bit of her hait back and spoke. "Yes and no... the bell signals for everyone to gather in the town square for a ....." Aslinn stopped speaking for a moment when something dawned upon her and she lost all color to her face for a moment before she resumed speaking. "....speech that i'm supposed to be giving this year" Immediately standing up she nearly bumped the table over in her excitement before she looked at Cody and spoke. "y-you should attend the speech but normally right after the speech things kick off s-so weeding through a crowd of people m-might be hard i-is there someplace y-you wanna meat up." Trying to find one another a midst the crowd of people would be hard so it would be easier to pick a location and simply meet up there afterwards.

Cody looked at her when she spoke, he thoguht it over when she spoke about the speech but he nodded, "Well I will happily go and watch the speech... and with meeting up, how about near the house... wait, by meeting up do you think that we would end up... you know?" he asked shyly to her wondering what could happen still as he was still a bit shy about it.

Aslinn smiled when he said he'd watch it and was glad he wasn't laughing about her forgetting that it was her duty, she began leading him towards the center of town when he asked about meeting up. "I-i was thinking your grandmother's h-house would be best. I-it is more secluded and since the speech is timed to begin roughly 30 minutes before sunset since right after sunset is when our urges fully kick in." As he asked about what might happen if they possibly became mates and she blushed bright red under her fur before she spoke softly "w-well n-no one c-can answer th--that until the time comes b-but when you sniff someone after sunset and it's meant to be you will know their chemical balance will register in your brain as compatible; however as a male you may get a few rights but only one perfect and a woman o-only gets a perfect. If you find your perfect then you two begin by marking the neck and ummm i-if so inclined y-you c-con-consummate th-the e-evening and begin what mating s-season is for. " The whole time she spoke about the possibility of mating with him it seemed she was embarrassed and nervous, she admittedly knew little compared to others in the village but compared to Cody she knew lots on the subject. Aslinn's mind began dwelling on the focus of mating season as she inhaled more of Cody's scent, it sent her mind into a frenzy and she began having images of him marking her neck.

Cody looked at her when she spoke about where they could meet but he nodded, he thought it over when she had seemed to speak softly and sounded like something was bothering her but when he tried to look away a bit, he blushed as her scent still seemed to be on his mind as did her, he began to wonder if she was the one to be his but when she had stopped he thought it over, "So should... should we go to where you are to give your speech?" He asked a bit shyly to her himself, thinking about her neck and how he did want to mark it.

Aslinn smiled and nodded when Cody spoke about heading to where she was to give the speech. "yes lets go." She took his hand and led him right towards the town square. Once they got towards the outskirts of the square Aslinn turned to him and spoke "find a spot among the crowd i've got to get on stage there's a microphone so you can hear me from any distance away." As much as Aslinn didn't want to leave Cody unattended on the biggest day of the year she could't very well leave him behind the stage since that was somewhat unfair on her part.
