It was not long before Lillian pulled the Jeep back into its parking space. She tried getting out of the Jeep and sneaking into the house, yet there was her father, right at the back door. She had thought that he'd be at the front of the house, yet she guessed that he'd seen the Jeep was gone and went to the back to wait for her. "Lillian! You get over here right now!" Mr. Stacey barked at his daughter as he watched her getting out of the Jeep and trying to get inside unnoticed. Lillian really did not want to be caught, but she never was good at getting away with things like that. "What," she said bluntly in reply to her father, not even looking at him. She knew that this would get her into trouble and she knew what she was going to do would get her into even more trouble, though she wasn't going to let her father push her around any more than he had. She deliberately kicked him as he came over to grab her, causing him to go down hard and she decided that she'd speak her mind while her father was unable to speak. "Daddy, I don't care much if you don't like me being out after dark. I'm almost an adult, so you can't tell me what to do forever and I am not going to let you walk all over me and tell me what to do with my life anymore! If I want to be out with my friends after the sun goes down then I'll do just that. I'm so sick of you putting me down and saying that I have to be your perfect little angel and only do what you want me to. I swear you're just too controlling and I hate it... Mother hates it too!" she said, her voice turning nasty at her father. As she stared down at her father she felt her phone buzzing in her pocket. She ripped the phone from her pocket, opened it and said, "What?" her voice still very vicious. "Huh...? Oh, hey... Sorry I am just angry with Father... Yeah... I guess that you could come over tonight, seeing as Father's probably not going to be objecting to anything." she spoke in a seemingly one-sided conversation. "That was Ryan and Brendon." she said to Adrian in a low tone so her father couldn't hear, as she walked to him, explaining that they were her cousins; the ones that she had mentioned about over the phone with Ivory. She had not a clue of the fact that they weren't really her cousins, nor that they were not who she thought they were, though she was definitely going to find out just who and what they were when they came over that night.

Adrian 's eyes narrowed slightly when her father went down, though he was cautious when the man rose with a look on his face that was close to murderous. "Don't even think about trying something. I may respect you because you raised her, but that doesn't mean you can't pull your head out of your a** and realize that the more you do what you're doing the faster you're going to push her away," he said as Lillian spoke on her phone though he listened to her when she spoke. He noticed something momentarily strange about the man, though it wasn't that the man was simply an a*****e, though it was as if something were fighting to surface since he'd seen a clear flash of regret in the man's eyes. He could be getting manipulated, he thought.

Lillian wanted to just punch a wall or her father, thouhg her hands were still sort from the cuts due to her trying to help remove the thorny branches that had been on Adrian's ankle. Her breathing was heavy and she didn't know whether she wanted to scream or just cry because of how her father was acting towards her. She listened to Adrian and she smiled; he was standing up for her and against her father. She figured that he would have, though she just liked the fact that someone was on her side. She motioned for Adrian to follow her to the side of the house where her room was and she looked up at the fire escape, though when she did she noticed there were two men at the top. She didn't recognize them right off, though when they jumped down she saw that it was Brendon and Ryan. "How...? You called and asked if you could come... after you were already here?" she asked, though the two men said nothing before they made an advance on the girl. She did not know how big of a mistake it was to let Adrian behind to confront her father and go to the side of the house where not many people would be able to see her. In the blink of an eye Ryan had Lillian pinned to the wall and Brendon was right there as well, pressing a firm hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming. 'Adrian! My cousins... trying... to kill me or... something...' she she screamed mentally, hoping that Adrian would hear her. She did not know why her 'cousins' were acting this way, though they clearly were not what she had thought them to be as they smiled, both revealing fang-like canine teeth. 'They have pointed teeth...' she thought a bit faintly, yet not any less terrified, as her eyes grew wide at the sight.

Adrian walked after Lillian, though he paused upon seeing Lillian's mother through the window before glancing back at her father. He twitched as he heard the telepathic cry before he moved in a blur of air before he snapped one single word. "Aka-arvo," he spat as he seemed to materialize out of thin air. His heel slammed into the side of Ryan's head with a thud as he simultaneously twisted without landing and snapped a hard roundhouse kick straight into Brendon's face. He was unaware his irises were glowing a hot silvery white color or that his own canines had lengthened.

Lillian's whole body was shaking from fear as she looked at the two men she had thought to be her cousins, yet she felt now that she was wrong; very, very wrong about that. She prayed that Adrian had heard her and it seemed that he had as she felt both Brendon and Ryan being slammed off of her. She stood there, nearly crying as she looked at the two men, who clearing did not like being beat around. They both got up and snarled at Adrian in an almost animal-like way. This confused Lillian, though she was frozen with fear; she couldn't even collapse to the ground because of it. "Look Brother, it seems that this one thinks he's going to save her from us, though I don't see how he could best the both of us." Brendon said, wiping blood from his lip. Ryan said nothing as he glared at Adrian before moving with incredible speed, trying to get to Lillian again. Both of the brothers were determined to either kill the girl or make her like them, though they were more the type that loved bloodshed and prefered not letting their prey get away.

Adrian smirked slightly as he shifted his weight, ramming his elbow hard straight into Ryan's chin from beneath before he drove both palms straight into his upper abdomen with a heavy crunch that signaled broken bones in a shoving movement that left Ryan tumbling into the fence at the opposite corner of the house nearly eight feet away. "You'd be surprised, considering," Adrian started as a bolt of lightning struck with a thunderous boom feet from Brandon as he cocked his head, not surprised as he'd focused the energy to his will. "Though," he said as he shifted his arm, revealing the crossbow that had been in Lillian's bedroom before firing a single silver cored arrow that hit Ryan's forearm, pinning it to the fence just below the elbow. "It doesn't help when you threaten someone who has little to lose," he said with a low growl.

Lillian felt that she should try doing something, though she also felt that she'd only get in the way if she tried to move from where she was standing. A thought came to her mind however that made her eyes grow huge and she was mobile once again. Looking over to Adrian and the two men who were clearly the evil type of vampire she spoke to Adrian, hoping he'd hear her. "I'm going to try to keep the others from seeing this mess... I just hope that you can clean it up without getting yourself killed..." she took one look at the men, especially Ryan who was writhing in agony as he clawed at the silver arrow that was pierced through his forearm that was pinned to the fence. She shook her head trying to rid herself of the sympathetic feeling that was bubbling within her for the two men before disappearing around the back of the house and heading straight inside to her father. She apologized for her actions, even though she hadn't wanted to and she said that she was just angry. However, Lillian's father looked his daughter in the eyes and said that he should be the one apologizing. "Daddy... you don't have to... You were only trying to protect me, though I know that I'm safe when Adrian's around, whether I've known him for a day, a week or my whole life. I trust him and even if you don't I'm not going to make a different decision about having him as a friend. To be honest he's one of the best friends, as well as one of the truest friends that I have made in a long time." she said before giving her father a small hug and heading back outside to see what all Adrian was doing. Just before she got out the door she heard her father speaking, "Lillian, you can stay out after dark, but just please give me a phone call if you do from now on." Lillian looked at her father, nodded and headed back outside and around the side of the house, followed by a very curious stray kitten that had wandered into the yard from two houses over. She wasn't too sure what she might see, so she took a deep breath and was trying to expect anything, though that wasn't all too easy to do; for she knew that if she saw anything too gruesome she'd more than likely have to supress a scream.

Adrian leaned aside, narrowly evading Brendon's swift punch as he shifted the crossbow up and released another arrow, this one glowing white hot. It impacted Brendon's chest, shoving him back almost to where Ryan was as the vampire writhed as his body crumbled into smoldering ashes. "You threaten Lillian or her family, then you won't survive long enough to regret it," he said with a low tone as Ryan's arm began darkening and smoldering. He glanced to where Lillian was coming around the corner of the house. "Lewlkuras," he muttered as he shifted his arm in a throwing movement, a barbed spike shot from his fingertips before hitting Ryan in the chest just beneath his sternum. So there are the kinds I'm familiar with plus the ones that Blade would likely be more familiar with, he thought.

Lillian looked at the scene before her and she bit her lip, trying to keep from screaming. She didn't like the thought of seeing people dying, although, these weren't exactly 'people'. "That is so not cool..." she said before squealing as she felt something rubbing against her leg. "Oh! How cute!" she said once she looked down, just before she scooped up the kitten, all of her attention pulled from the fact that there was one vampire that was now ashes and the other one that was crumbling into a pile of ashes right along side what used to be Brendon. As she snuggled the kitten she looked to Adrian and she nodded in the direction of where the vampires had been and asked, "They are dead, right? They won't come back, right?" she asked, almost begging for him to say yes to her questions as she cuddled the small orange tabby kitten to her. As she awaited an answer she thought to herself about cleaning the mess from the vampires up. 'I wonder if I should clean that mess up with the gardening hose...? Wash it under the fence maybe...?'

Adrian tilted his head as his hand snapped out, a burst of air scattering what was left of the vampires. "They should be dead, though it is clear that they assumed forms that would be familiar to you.... in all likelihood, as much as I dislike the idea, your true cousins are likely dead," he said quietly as he gently hugged Lillian. "It seems that the type of vampires I have encountered in the past are not the only ones out there, though I just hope we don't run into a blond telepathic waitress looking for help," he murmured jokingly.

Looking at the watering hose, Lillian was about to go get it, though she noticed that Adrian snapped out his hand and the ashes blew away. "You read my mind," she said in a joking manner, though she figured that he really had heard her thoughts. "I hope that they are, though if you're right about that... I don't want to think that those foul things killed my cousins... I didn't really know my cousins well, so it wasn't easy to tell that they weren't acting normal; however, I could tell something was a bit different about them. I mean they went from really nice and they wanted to get to know me and then they sort of just stopped caring, you know? My uncle... I think that he's still alive, though he doesn't much like talking to me... or anyone really. I guess it might be because he knew that his real sons were killed? And I think that I heard those two threatening him once when I was on the phone... They must have 'butt dialed' me because I don't think that they knew that they had called me." she said and went on to explain that she listened in on everything that had been said, including the fact that Brendon and Ryan, well that's what they called themselves, had said that they'd destroy everything that he cared about if he didn't follow along with their little plan. Although she said about how her uncle had retaliated and spoke of them getting what's coming to them, even if he had to do it himself. "I didn't much get what my uncle meant about 'doing it himself', though he sounded really serious... I mean what could he have done to those guys?" she asked, though it was mostly to herself. She knew that she'd probably try to find out, though with everything that she was finding out she did not really think that she'd want to for fear of what might happen if she did try to talk to her uncle, even if he was distantly so.

Adrian tilted his head with a faint half smile. "Hmm, I don't know, but you're more likely to know your family better than I would," he said quietly with a faint half smile. He actually hadn't read her mind, but had noticed her glancing towards the water hose and guessed what she'd been thinking. "I think someone else twisted and manipulated them, then used them like tools though I don't see how or why," he said with a slight shrug as he hugged her gently. A low gurgling growl sounded as he realized he was hungry.

Lillian would have hugged Adrian back, though she would have dropped the little kitten if she would have. The kitten let out a little mew as it rubbed its small head against Adrian as if asking him for attention. "I think that this kitten likes you," she said, smiling. "I know that I should know my family, though with them being distant relatives I barely knew them to begin with... I think that there's something off about that uncle of mine, though maybe he's only just obsessed with those wolf-dogs that he has caged up in his backyard, even though it's more like a small field... I mean he has like ten or more of those things... And they all looked at me like they were going to eat me too... Had I gotten any closer to that fence, that is." she said, shuddering at the thought of those wolf-dog hybrids that seemed to have a bloodthirsty look in their eyes.

Adrian chuckled as he tilted his shoulder, letting the little kitten climb clumsily onto his shoulder. He could feel the slight pricks of its tiny claws, but didn't mind it. "Hey, at least you know you have them. I don't, short of my godparents," he said with a faint half smile. He wondered if she'd realized that Ivory was his godmother or not.

Lillian smiled as she watched the kitten move from her shoulder to Adrian's shoulder. She thought that it was cute that the kitten wanted so much attention, though she knew only too well that her father probably wouldn't want a new kitten in the house. "I know that you're right, though that uncle of mine likes those wolf-dogs way more than he should. I think he thinks of those dogs as his kids... I know some people are like that with their pets, but I mean he takes it way too seriously... It's really awkward. And we can go in to get something for dinner. I know that Mom probably has leftovers that you can get. You'll love that chicken, even if it's leftover." she said, licking her lips at the thought of having her mother's home fried chicken. She had thought about what Adrian had said, about her knowing that she had her family and that he only knew his godparents. A thought came to her mind, though she wasn't sure that it was right or not. 'Naw... it couldn't be them... maybe...' she thought as she took the kitten from Adrian, stuffed it under the jacket she had on and made her way to the house to try sneaking it into the house, to her room without her father noticing it.
