Creativity: Is it original? Does this piece add a new twist to the tried-and-true formulas? Style: How was the author's use of imagery and language? Did his or her words come alive? Mechanics:
These too should be on a ten point scale for the judges.
And I'd be happy to judge, so long as the judging be after may 23rd.
Also, I've gotten zero entries for the political project. Then again, I've made zero threads promoting it.

Contest thinggie]10 - Godly masterpiece. [/quote] I have a feeling ol' Jaho wouldnever in his lifetime give this to any piece....and if he does, the piece should be treated as a godly masterpiece. xd
[quote="Herr Jaho Also, I've gotten zero entries for the political project. Then again, I've made zero threads promoting it. Quite the perplexing quandary, eh? Also, I'm not too good with nitpickign stories, I'm easily satisfied...I found this here story http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6843164 but I'm not sure...check it out will yeah? A quick read through would suffice...I haven't put it in the Critique thread because the author hasn't gotten back to me on permission status.

Nay, I would give that rating to any story I've ever wrote. But actually, Keldan got two tens from me on her story in the very first contest, which I do believe elevated her to victory by 4 tenths over second place.
Anyways, I've got a thread up in contests for the project now.
Also, feel free to buy an Avy on a Stick. wink

Haha. It's about time, Jaho! wink Good luck with the project! Wanna provide a link so we can all visit your thread?
Kraeela, I'll go take a look at the story you found now. I'm sure it'll be fine!

Jahoclave Also, feel free to buy an Avy on a Stick. wink Duuude, Jahoclave! You just gave a great idea! Why don't we come up with some sort of signature product to sell? We're currently running on donations, so it would be great to have a another source of income as well. Maybe I'll actually be able to pay you guys, hehe! Anyway, I'm sure we could plead with Dev into creating some cute graphics for us to sell... Now we just need to come up with a brilliant marketing ploy! Any idea for the product? Speak now or forever hold your silence. (Or is it peace? I can't remember...)

It's Piece. Too bad we can't charge people to feature their artwork on our cover... You know, like advertising their art shops. Then we'd get kickass graphics for our mag, and we'd get paid to display them. xp Though, I doubt that would work. If only we could market plushies. http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7111848There's a link to the contest forum thread. Though, if we could get some advertising going we could at least start paying authors of submissions. I don't really care much about actually getting paid gold, since I really don't need it. I'm sitting on some pretty decent stocks.

Jahoclave I'm sitting on some pretty decent stocks. *plots to secretly send teh Jaho tumbling down to the ghettos of poverty. Meanwhile....* I don't really care for getting paid either, though I think we'd get more by way of submissions if we paid a decent sum. A contest I was judging just closed and I really really really loved the winning entry and am awaiting reply if we could use it.

Glad to hear you guys aren't thinking of mutiny at this point, lol. Thanks for being such good sports! wink But I guess working on the 'zine does earn you more gold since everyone's posting so often! Very well then. I hope you hear from your winning author, Kraeela! We definitely need more entries for the issue right now. I also visited the link you posted earlier, and I think the story's pretty good. It needs a bit of editing though, so post it into The Mound once the author replies. 3nodding Finally, I'm thinking about posting some kind of reader's survey in the writing forum. The thread will direct readers to our past issues, and then they'll fill out a quick survey for what they like and didn't like! Good idea or not?

By the by, I was curling up with the second latest issue of Writer's Digest (from the library) when I came upon an article about a new discovery that minscule fungi growing in the dusts between book pages causes hallucinations when inhaled.
So....if your heart races and you feel lightheaded....unless hte book is uber awesome...go open a window and take a break.
O.o

Especially my distate for reading books checked out from the library. I've never liked their smell. Speaking of which I need to talk to Penden or Clarion about removing Tanasha's sig privlages untill she removes me from her sig. There's one thing about praise quotes, but negative posts, especially those out of context. Especially ones taken from the context of telling somebody to stop being an elitest ********. I swear, Elitest ******** assholes that are so damn ego-centric, and intollerant of other peoples' views bring out the worst in me.
