Janis surveyed the rooms with a critical eye. She even looked around the nursery a little nervously. It feel right, but at the same time it was odd. She was still new to that. This place was well made, but plan and stark. She finally turn to Cornelius with a dragonic smile. "I love it. It definitely needs a feminine touch, but I can take care of that. You did a great job." she said, nuzzling him. For a moment, she looked back over at the nursery. "Cornelius. After your parents got together... when did they start having children?" she asked with a blush, not looking him in the eyes.

After your parents got together... when did they start having children?" she asked with a blush, not looking him in the eyes. Cornelius wrapped his neck around hers and said, "If you think it's good, well, then do what you need to, but as for your second question. I'm not one hundred percent sure. I think my mother knew she was having me after the first two or three weeks of marriage. It's kind of instinctual I feel, maybe a tradition or something to have children fast since we're not many in number."

Janis nodded. "It makes sense." she murmured, looking back at the nursery. Her gaze fell to her abdomen her eyes warm. Maybe.... She shook herself. NO. She couldn't be. Not that fast. It had only been a little over a week sense they married. Plus she'd only had a quick stomach flu. It was nothing, she convinced herself. "Well, now we have a place to put all the book you can collect." she said, pushing away her thoughts.

He almost swore that he heard her say "It makes sense," before looking down at her stomach. She then tried to change the subject to which he answered, "I have more than enough space here definitely, but what makes sense now? Tell me honestly because you look like you're hiding something." he said sternly as his eyes fell upon her stomach. He might have been imagining things, but to him her belly seemed to jut out, just a tiny bit, almost as if she had eaten a bit too much and might be a bit bloated. That was understandable. She had just had a the time to get used to hunting and eating a lot of meat in the previous week or so they had been together.

Janis looked away guiltily. Why was she nervous to voice what was going through her head? It was only speculation at the moment. "Well. It's nothing really. I was just thinking about how weird my actions were about the meat and then suddenly getting sick. Thought that I might be..." she shifted uneasily. "...might be pregnant popped in my head. I know it's kind of a big jump, but I can't help thinking it." she finished explaining. "I haven't gotten sick again, so I'm not sure at all."

We should maybe try and check this somehow. Perhaps, Sampson knows methods to confirm this." Cornelius definitely was concerned as well and he let this sound in his voice, especially after she spoke about how she had been around the meat they had eaten and being sick. He reached out with his neck and licked the tip of her snout with his rough tongue. "I'm sure we'll be okay. It's not like we've not started preparing. For example, we could try out the lava pool if you want." He looked over at it and watched as a large glob formed and exploded before splattering on the floor near their feet. "It's a bit hot, but it's almost like a sauna to us right now. So just don't stay in it too long." He tried to change the subject in hopes she wouldn't be so down cast seeming.

Janis nodded. Feeling better about it. Plus, if she was, wouldn't that be a good thing? She supposed, but right now it made her nervous. She didn't know if she was really for that. Well, whatever happened Cornelius was here and they handle it together. She chuckled when he licked her. "You're right. But are you sure about the lava?" she asked skeptically. Any human would already be extremely hot being this close to lava. She felt okay, but she wasn't sure if that meant she could get in it. "You sure it's safe?"

"You sure it's safe?" "No," Cornelius stated as he stepped towards it and sniffed the sulfur rising from the pit. "Perhaps, we should just let our eggs rest over top of it." He stated as he looked back at Janis before getting a blast of sulfur on the back of his neck, leaving his scales there black.

Janis rushed over too him and looked closely at the black spot. She raised a paw to touch it, but froze. "Are you okay? Did that burn?" she asked worriedly. If this is what it did too him, there was no way she was sticking her egg in that. It would kill them.

Janis nodded. "I'm fine." she nodded. "Mostly." she added as she felt nausea start to creep up on her. He had good timing with his questions. "For now come away from the lava. I don't want you burned more. We should washed that in the water." she said, starting to shove him out of the room in a way that told him there would be no argument.

Cornelius allowed her to lead him away from it, but he uttered as they did, "We should cover it up if you don't like the lava pit." He would rather not have one of them fall into it if they were not going to keep the thing. On a side note he asked as they walked, "How far along do you think you are in your pregnancy? We should try to determine that so we can maybe find another spot for you to build a nest in these tunnels down here."

Janis looked back over. "That would be a good idea. May we can just use some water to cool it and cause rock to cover the top. Then the room would just be very warm." she suggested. She thought on his question. "I'm guessing around a week. I think. I don't think it would be more. I'm surprised I even noticed this early." she with a chuckle. She felt like she was. "I almost can't believe it."

"If you think about it. I'm going to go up to the surface and find Samson. Why don't you go back to that area we were just in and see if you can do just what you said. I doubt I can help you with that project since I can't move water easily without buckets, which we don't have. I'll be back in a few, but I need to talk to Samson." He then moved on ahead and exited up at the top of their stairs to the cave's main area. Walking outside to where the lake was, he spread his wings and used the air currents to fly up to the cave above him. He was sure he heard Samson digging above them and now clearly saw a hole in the rock wall. Flying towards it he waited at the so called entrance to Samson's home. He hated to leave Janis, but he felt it was important he spoke to the older dragon.

Janis smiled, pleased he was so excited. She looked back at the cave with the lava and chuckled. "Okay. I'll see you when you get back. It might get a little steamy in here." she called after him. She shook her head and turned to start taking care of the problem. The entrance was a tunnel only a dragon's length long. It was well made if still rough. Hearing Cornelius's entrance Samson looked out, his deep green scales a little dusty. "Come on in, I'm just trying to straighten this place up." he called. Inside was a large natural cavern, high and domed. The stalactites and stalagmites broken off and set aside. It was lighted by torches against the walls. There were a few tunnels lending back farther. One side was already smooth while another was still rough. Samson sighed as he sat down on the finished side and looked at the younger dragon with a tired smile. "It still needs work, but I'm getting there. So what brings you?"
