"Our friends?" Barth said, sort of relieved that the cars had all ground to a halt. Would they not have to destroy the cars after all? He rather liked his. Even if it had gotten a smidge...excited.
"Fight back against...who?" Was this part of their room, or something else? "Is err, is there trouble?"
Calder and Freya both volunteered to help. Wearing skirts was probably less than conducive to car-wrangling.
"I'm err, I'm with the rest of the group. We're all together."

The RescueThe consensus was enough. Her form disappeared entirely, the strange bumper cars suddenly shook, what seemed like a trap where the seat of the car would have been opened, and engulfed them into darkness. THE DOOR - Your student is now HERE thread, and then react accordingly. If your character's HP reaches zero, they will of course, dissipate back to home base.

Swept up in the blackness that surrounded him, Herryk squeezed his eyes shut and waited for the dark to dissipate. He could only hope that he was prepared enough to be an asset to the others.

Barth found himself falling.
The cars had survived, but whether his group would was another question entirely.

Calder expected to hop out and follow the ghost. Dropping down to nothingness was not his idea of traveling. Any form of movement where his hooves weren't firmly on the ground he didn't approve of. He could only hope that what ever place they were going and whoever they were helping wasn't around fire and might provide treats after they helped.
A kelpie of priorities he was.

Nooooooooo! Christof wanted to go zoom! He had hoped they could bring the cars with them. Alas. Not even time to dissect the things, he dropped off and away.

As the students arrived again, they found themselves in darkness. Complete and total darkness. Staggering from side to side resulted only in hitting walls that felt squeaky and slippery to the touch, like polished glass. There was no sign of the bumper cars, no heat from lava, and no stink of brimstone and burnt cotton candy.
Wherever they were, it was not where they'd been before the battle...
A thread of amused, mean-spirited laughter floated overhead.OOC As usual you will get the puzzle proper once everyone has arrived and reacted! :>

((Entering from yard))
The first thing Herryk noticed was the utter darkness that engulfed the room. The second thing he noticed was the laughter. Mean sounding. Wrapping his arm around Freya's shoulders, Herryk drew her tightly to his side.
"Careful," he whispered to his teammates. There was no telling what was in store for them.

Christof crept into the darkness with baited breath, feeling Freya's arm around his hunch, his little wing fluttering under his jacket in anxiety. He could hear Herryk's breathing, and prayed Calder wasn't too far behind... it was... odd... doing this without Barth.
Barth was always there for these trips. Always nearby to keep him in line.
But now he was alone.
Not alone.
But Masterless. Which was close enough.

Freya pressed against Herryk as he pulled her closer, but it only made her pull Christof closer in turn. She turned her head back to try and see Calder, but the room had gone dark, and it made her cling to her companions all the tighter. Whatever they were about to face, they were going to do as a wall of friendship.
.. Even the thought sounded lame. She bit her lip to keep from laughing.
Still, it was clear she wasn't going to let Christof go anytime soon. She'd seen the way he flew at the door once they were left without Barth.. her friend was lost without him.
In truth, they all were. But him more than others.
She gave him a comforting squeeze, and responded to the laughter with a short, sarcastic one of her own.
"Hahahah!"

Calder was not far behind and bumped into the group. "..sorry." He whispered, trying to see in the dark. Usually his eyes adjusted, but there wasn't even moonlight to give him a bit of help. This was complete darkness. The laughing didn't help him, and he wasn't in the mood for it. It just kept going.
"WILL YOU SHUT UP!" He shouted, glaring up in the direction he felt the laughing was coming from. Being closed in bothered him too. It really got to him. Very tightly packed. He felt even more uncomfortable, upset, and downright bothered.

The laughter sharpens, and suddenly the room fills with a surprisingly soft and gentle light... though the reason for that gentleness becomes apparent very quickly. The light is reflecting off of almost every possible surface. Your own face looks back at you wherever you turn - it's only when you look up that you find somewhere that isn't covered in mirror.
The room is small, with no apparent entrances or exits. The reflections everywhere are disorienting... but worse is the laughter. Something flicks in the corner your eye - was that one of your comrades, your own reflection, or something entirely new?
Then the laughter stops, and each member of Misery Inc. hears something hissed mockingly into their ears. Something different for each one...Freya: "Did you forget about me?" A familiar valkyrie figure seems to dance in your peripheral vision. Is that... Thor? Herryk: A frantic hail of barking sounds, as if some dear little puppies are in serious trouble. "Awww, too bad your master isn't here to save you," the voice coos. A sharp yelp of canine pain punctuates the sentence. Christof: "Failure. Failure. You left your Master behind?! You're not fit to be of service to any Master, you waste." The cackle sounds worryingly familiar. And my, there are an awful lot of mirrors here, aren't there? Who do we know who looks through mirrors...? Calder: "You left him. He needed you, and you left him... now you'll never get to..." The sentence leaves off tantalizingly, letting Calder's mind fill in the blanks. Is that a curl of thorn in your peripheral vision? OOC React to these assertions however you'd like! From this point forward you may puppet the voice in continuing this thread of accusation in a way best suited to your character. You CANNOT hear what the voice says to other characters! The weird reflections also cannot be viewed directly and seem to vanish when viewed head-on. They are only detectable out of the corner of your eyes and it's unsure if they're even really THERE or not. Mirrors ARE smashable though after you hit them they regenerate or, if you shatter them completely the shards vanish into fog and reconstitute. Another prompt will come in a while...

Christof gaped. The mirrors themselves sent panic bristling through him. The mirror in his bathroom had long been removed. He had made sure Barth's was covered whenever they spent too long there. But here... there were... it was all...
And then the voice.
His mismatched face went pale as he took a trembling step back, breathing coming in sharp spurts as he covered his ears, but still he could hear it.
A sigh. We'll have to start from scratch again... He couldn't take it, fumbling forward with a howl as he swung his meaty, clawed and spiked left hand into the closest mirror, sending shards flying. No sooner had he moved onto the next, the first reformed like growing ice.
Shut up shut UP SHUT UP SHUT UP-!

Herryk blinked a few times as the room slowly filled with light. Mirrors. Everywhere. A puzzled expression flickered over Herryk's face as he peered around. Strange. There didn't seem to be an entrance, and there didn't seem to be an exit. The draugr rubbed the back of his neck as he took in the mirrors.
And then... the voice.
A cold, chilling dread slammed into Herryk's gut. Those barks sounded utterly familiar. The voice spoke again, and Herryk's eyes widened. "No! No, Herryk is here!" The agonized yelp drove Herryk into action. It sounded just like... just like...
"Nanna!" Herryk's voice was filled with choked panic, and the large draugr moved from side to side, feeling along the wall for a door, a space that he could fit through, anything. "No! Herryk is here, Nanna!! Herryk is here!" His team all but forgotten, Herryk shouldered past Freya, Calder, and Christof as he searched the walls for any weak spot, any hidden door.
"We have to save them! We have to save Nanna and the others! Please, please help Herryk!!" His face was contorted into an expression of utter dread and horror.
