Hal listened, and frowned a bit as he did. He was...rather thankful that Doomsday didn't get to "recruit" anyone himself. "We should see if we can find Zatanna then. As well as the ones you teamed up with if you have any idea where they are now."

"Last I heard," Billy said, munching on a piece of chicken, "Paragon and Alex were headed to New York. I have no clue what happened to Zatanna, unfortunately."

Hal nodded. "We have to make a trip back to New York anyway. Do you think you could help us find them? If they were able to hold off Doomsday, we could certainly use them."

Billy nodded. "Sure I could!" he said. "Paragon has the power of Shazam now, so I should be able to detect him."
Carlie, meanwhile, narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "So... This Alex girl... Is she pretty?" she asked, her tone somewhat jealous. Billy looked to her, and then gave a half-hearted shrug.

"Good. That should be a few more we'll be able to try and recruit." Hal said as he nodded. He looked over at C.J. a moment when she asked about Alex and arched a brow at her. "I think we'll be a little too busy to worry about that for a while anyway."

Carlie looked to her father and shrugged. "Whatever you say, Dad," she said, although she did cast another short glare at Billy, who was pointedly looking away.
"So, what do we do? Head to New York? That'll be fun," Carlie continued, gnawing on a chicken breast.

"I think that would be best. See if we can recruit them, then move on. I want to stop back at the house we were at earlier. Ask that woman a few questions about that..."guest" she had. Maybe see if she will help us as well." Hal replied.

Hal frowned. "There is a small group of powerful beings teaming up. Taking advantage of the lack of heroes out and about. Many of the heroes have been kidnapped. We can't find them. We need to find out what happened to them and try to get them back before things...really get bad. Before Doomsday isn't the only Black Lantern around."

"Kidnapped? Holy moley..." Billy said, gripping his head. "So... Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash... They're all gone? Kidnapped, I mean? This is bad... Just knowing they were gone is bad enough. But... kidnapped..."

Hal nodded with a frown. "I have a feeling the thing we tried to fight off earlier had something to do with the person that took the heroes. It stole two dolls from a woman's house we were at, a magic user I believe. Want to make a stop there to try and find out more. That's...really the only lead I have right now."

"Dolls, huh? What would a malevolent spirit want with dolls?" Billy asked, frowning as he looked down at the table, his eyes looking but not seeing, as he focused on the question he had just posed.
"Maybe some nefarious possession deal or something... Or maybe the spirit or whatever is a little... Erm, effeminate?" Carlie asked, grinning a little.

"Alright, then it's settled. We find this woman-- er, I mean, you lead me there-- and we'll figure this out." Billy said to Hal, looking up at him.
Carlie stood up and stretched a bit, her back facing the other teen; Billy looked in her direction and immediately turned red in the face before shooting an apologetic look at Hal.
"So, I'm full and finished with my food; do we go now?" Carlie asked, and indeed, her tray was filled with chicken bones and empty side-dishes.

Hal gave him a little 'it's okay' smile', then stood up from his seat. "Yeah. I think it would be best if we get this sorted out as soon as possible." he replied.
