"Coin?" David smiled a small smile. The kind of smile that didn't say the person was pleased, but rather that you had just said something so stupid that it was funny, but not enough to laugh at. A smile that seemed to pity the person for even believing it was worth saying at all. What use did he have for a little bit of coin? Particularly as small an amount as a lone ninja would carry in their pockets. The idea was ludicrous. "I want information." he stated, deciding to get to the point rather than trying to see if Yamatano could come up with anything better. If he had already resorted to his own money, he obviously wasn't going to impress. "Any and all information Kiri has and will collect on the fall of Iwagakure. And..." He paused, recalling what Jin had been talking about. This was a good chance to confirm his suspicions on that. Unlike Koizumi, Luo undoubtedly kept thorough records, and had been Mizukage long enough to where if that organization existed, he'd know about it. "Anything Kiri knows about an organization called Orion." With his demand made, David went silent, observing Yamatano in order to read his reactions. From the way he reacted to the initial statement, he seemed worried about what he might ask for, but in David's mind, the information he wanted was nothing that could harm either village were it shared, so it was nothing to worry about giving.

David nodded, satisfied with the answer. He hadn't expected to get any of the information immediately anyways. "I don't expect the information now. Once it has been gathered and processed however, I would like a copy sent to me." Picking up the photo and giving it one last look, David held it out for Yamatano to take back. "I've never seen the man before, but you are free to ask around town. I would recommend beginning at the gates." As Yamatano would take back the picture, David perceived an issue that would likely be cropping up in the boy's mind now. He had just promised something, and got nothing in return. Smirking slightly, David decided to add to it. "If you don't find anything, you don't have to give me anything. I would appreciate it if the Mizukage would consider another deal for the information though."

Leaning back in his chair, David waited for Yamatano's reply. As he waited, he absently pulled a senbon from his pocket, spinning it in his hand as he had seen Luo do so long ago. Seeing a Kiri shinobi now was arousing his memories of that day, and he could clearly see now how much that conversation with Luo had changed him. It was likely that day that had changed him enough to put him where he was now. Making a sudden decision, David held the senbon out for Yamatano to take as well. "Please take this to the Mizukage when you return, with my thanks." It was in fact the same senbon Luo had given him, the only one he had ever owned. Yamatano probably wouldn't understand the significance it held, but Luo probably would. And that was what mattered to him.

"I need to get a new office..." David muttered to himself, head in his hands as yet another person entered the room and displayed shock at him being the kage. Yeah, it was true, but he was also trying to hide that fact, so having everyone assume it flat out made things difficult. Looking up after a moment, He raised an eyebrow as he saw that the boy had already seated himself. Rather forward, for one in a foreign kage's office... Kumo must be pretty relaxed about that. Deciding to let it slide for now, David moved back to the question. best to dissuade that now, and avoid the boy going back to Kumo and revealing him. "No. I'm not. I take care of things that the kazekage doesn't have time to deal with. Running a military is a busy job without having to deal with civilians and foreigners as well."

He paused, letting that sink in and leaning back in his chair to look at the chuunin before him, and the genin following him into the room. A smirk slowly spread across his face, as he decided to play with them a bit. The ANBU that had been tailing them since they entered the village had given him a fairly interesting report, as the team had been quite chatty while they were waiting. "And you are Kensei was it? Chuunin, Uchiha, third stage Sharingan, taijutsu specialist. Obviously fire elemental given your clan." Without pausing David turned his eyes on the girl, Sora. "Sora Hikari, genin, no clan, sealing specialist and raiton user." He frowned for a moment, still gazing at her. There was something else, but he couldn't place what it was. Something that was making the Ichibi... Giggle. What made the Ichibi giggle? Giving up on that, he turned to the last member of the group, and a sly grin crawled onto his face. "Moe, genin, ninjutsu specialist, raiton and doton user, with a combination ability of... Magnetic control..." he frowned thoughtfully at that. The ability he had shown sounded much the same as the one who had attacked Iwa. It obviously couldn't have been this boy, but still. Perhaps there was a connection there?

Lowering his hand, with which he had pointed at each person as he listed their attributes, he gazed steadily at them for a second more, a serious look on his face. "Now how about you tell me more about this rogue kumo nin who is supposedly going to kill my last visitor?" It wasn't a request, or even a demand, but an order. This team had let a lot of things slip, but except for that last it had all just been amusing info on a few of Kumo's shinobi. It had been good though, he thought, for setting the pace of the meeting. He had quickly set himself in a position of power in the meeting, beyond just the fact that he was the authority in the room. Knowledge was power for a shinobi, and unless they were intentionally spreading false information, in which case they must have been incredibly well trained actors to fool his ANBU, he knew everything about them except their specific abilities.

As soon as Laxus began to speak, David's eyes locked onto him in an incredibly cold glare, and as he continued to speak, it only rose his ire further, and he didn't even listen to what the boy was saying. Before he could get halfway through his explanation, he would find his mouth covered by a wide strip of sand that wrapped all the way around his head, squeezing tightly and preventing any sound from coming out. "You," David growled, still glaring into the boy's eyes, and now standing up to his not so impressive full height, though one could suppose that along with the show of fury only the Ichibi host could display, and he hadn't let it loose in some time, it would be plenty to flatten the will of a genin to keep speaking even if he could through the sand gag. "Are not your team's leader, and you have no place speaking in this meeting. Still your tongue before I do your village a favor and remove it from you." His piece spoken, David continued to glare for several moments longer before visibly calming himself, loosening his stance, and looking away. "Now, would the assigned leader of this team care to explain?" he asked, looking back towards Kensei again. With an almost lazy wave of his hand he also dispelled the gag on Laxus, assuming the boy would know better now than to speak out of turn. His actions were a bit harsh, he knew, but from what he'd seen and heard thus far, he had likely just done Kumogakure a favor if he'd traumatized that child.
