Brief Personality: Kondo is the kind of guy you take out drinking knowing you've got a strong competitor on your side in case of a bar fight. On the other hand, it's an unspoken rule that this is a lion you want far, far away from your children and your wife; he has no soft spot for the youth and not a hint of respect for women to be found.
He is abusive to his thralls without remorse. Not just physically, but emotionally as well. There have been incidents of fights breaking out among him and other lions for laying a paw on someone elses 'property' simply because they annoyed him and he felt entitled to do it. (Providing that as his reasoning doesn't exactly help keep the peace.)
Like every little newborn cub, he started out as harmless as anyone. However, he has grown to become a wicked soul unmatched by all but the most cruel of lions, many of which reside in his beloved pride. No one can argue, if nothing else, Kondo does not love the Stormborn. Rather than calling the group his everything, it seems more appropriate to say it's his only thing.
Buuut... He isn't above chilling with his fellow man over some mint and 'war stories'. As long as they act manly about it.
Brief History: Kondo's father was a talented fighter, but an epic a*****e, if you want to be blunt about it. He upheld the title of Captain well and with one of his own reavers had a litter of cubs, most of which died due to complications. So did mommy dearest.
Instead of getting angry the birth had killed his mate, Kondo's father praised him as the only acceptable member of their family and considered his late wife and children weaklings from then on. The stress he put on Kondo to be as good a fighter as himself was immense, and he even went so far as to insult him for mourning over his dying body after he'd lost a particularly vicious fight.
Up until then, Kondo had spent any free time with Gunnar and Taraxa. He admired their relationship quite a bit. But, his father's dying words broke something in him, and from then on he began to change. Eventually, he found a mate in a weak-willed Freeborn whom he pushed around and was at times suspected of abusing.
When she had children - one son and two daughters - both his girls had drowning 'accidents'. No one could prove he'd done anything, and Kondo admitted to nothing. His mate suddenly became more forceful and joined the ranks of the Reavers with her son. They started to resemble more of a loving family - to the outside world.
Many suspected when they vanished during a raid either all three had been killed, or Kondo had indeed fallen in love with his wife and fled the pride. While his wife and son did make their escape, it turned out Kondo had allowed them to follow him as their Captain (a rank acquired after his father's death) because he was suspicious they were doing so with plans to take off.
After he tracked them down and killed them both for 'treason', Kondo finally returned home. (He is distraught to find Taraxa has kids he treats so nicely and a sort-of girlfriend. Also, Gunnar isn't beating Fera's a** for that sissy singing of his! WTF man?! )
