 Professor Kain
"This week we shall be viewing Oneiromancy which is divination based upon dreams. It is a system of dream interpretation that uses dreams to predict the future. Many can have these and not realize it till it happens, hence deja vu.
A unique exemplar of a book of dream-interpretation survives from pre-Hellenistic Egypt, the so-called "Ramesside Dream-Book", the surviving fragments of which are translated into English by Kasia Szakowska.
Dreams occur throughout the Christian Bible as omens or messages from God:
* Jacob dreams of a ladder to heaven (Genesis 28 ) ; * his son Joseph dreamed of his future success (Genesis 37) and interpreted the dreams of the Pharaoh of Egypt (Genesis 41); * Solomon conversed with God in his dreams; * Daniel interpreted dreams (in the Book of Daniel); * the Magi are told in a dream to avoid Herod on their journey home (Matthew 2). * Joseph, husband of Mary, was directed to flee to Egypt (Matthew 2); * Paul was told to go to Macedonia (Acts 16).
Dream divination was a common feature of Greek and Roman religion and literature or all genres. Aristotle and Plato discuss dreams in various works. The only surviving Greco-Roman dreambook, the Oneirocritica was written by Artemidorus (2c.). Artemidorus cites a large number of previous authors, all now lost.
Oneirocritic literature is the traditional (ancient and mediaeval) literary format of dream interpretation. The ancient sources of oneirocritic literature are Kemetian (Aegyptian), Akkadian (Babylonian), and Hellenic (Greek). The mediaeval sources of oneirocritic literature are Āstika (Hindu), Persian, Arabic, and European.
The indigenous Chontal of the Mexican state of Oaxaca use Calea zacatechichi for oneiromancy. Calea zacatechichi also known as Dream Herb, Cheech, and Bitter Grass, is a plant used by the indigenous Chontal of the Mexican state of Oaxaca for oneiromancy (a form of divination based on dreams.) The plant naturally occurs from southern Mexico to northern Costa Rica. It has been scientifically demonstrated that extracts of this plant increase reaction times and the frequency and/or recollection of dreams versus placebo and diazepam. It is also employed by the Chontal people as a medicinal herb against gastrointestinal disorders, and is used as an appetizer, cathartic anti-dysentery remedy, and as a fever-reducing agent."

I look over to Aludra and give her a nod. I mouth the words, After this. I then face the board and begin writing notes on, Oneiromancy. I write down so much notes that my hand begins to hurt again. I do what Aludra told me last time to squeeze my knuckles. After surviving the writing down of my notes i look down at my work and read over it. - Divination based upon dreams - It is a system of dream interpretation that uses dreams to predict the future - Related to deja vu. - A unique exemplar of a book of dream-interpretation survives from pre-Hellenistic Egypt. - The so-called "Ramesside Dream-Book", the surviving fragments of which are translated into English by Kasia Szakowska. - Dream divination was a common feature of Greek and Roman religion and literature or all genres. - Aristotle and Plato discuss dreams in various works. - The only surviving Greco-Roman dreambook, the Oneirocritica was written by Artemidorus. - Artemidorus cites a large number of previous authors, all now lost. - The indigenous Chontal of the Mexican state of Oaxaca use Calea zacatechichi for oneiromancy. - Calea zacatechichi also known as Dream Herb, Cheech, and Bitter Grass, is a plant used by the indigenous Chontal of the Mexican state of Oaxaca for oneiromancy (a form of divination based on dreams.) - The plant naturally occurs from southern Mexico to northern Costa Rica. I packed up everything and put it in my back. I gave Aludra a nod, i stood up, tucked my chair in and walked towards her. I quickly whispered to her, Meet me in the courtyard after you're done packing up. I walked out of the classroom and walked towards the castle doors.

Aludra Yvette... She nodded and finished packing her things, it wasnt alot to pack since they hardly did any wand work or activities in the class. Aludra waited for the students to get back to their note writing and snuck out the door to follow Chris to the grounds. It was pretty exciting to be sneaking away with him. ...6th Year Slytherin

Slytherin.First year.
Adding to what christopher had said,Dorian raised his hand" Oneiromancy is even practised by muggles in the form of oneirology, as they seek to better understand the functions of the brain. The ancients saw them as divine messages and omens. Oneirologists also seek to better comprehend the effect of substances on a person's dream-patterns, as did shamans in the past through the uses of various plants as mentioned before, to induce particular dreams that would allow them to communicate with higher states of existence and so on. Dreaming occurs during REM sleep, and activity has been recorded in the amygdala and the lymbic system. During this period of sleep, muggle scientists believe and have tested that the brain tries to consolidate recent memories and reinforce old ones."

"That's some very interesting observation, everyone. I'm impressed. With Christmas being this week, there will be no lessons. I plan to begin class again, next year."

"Also, I updated the extra credit panel. Nothing hard. I'll check them after the break.
Also, I've been doing some doodles, if you'd like one, send me a note."
