Subira shook her head at the retort but just smiled to herself. "You didn't scream, Miss Gray, that is my point." The temptation to reveal the irony that had overcome her life was getting overbearing, so parting ways was the best option. The time isn't right... She walked off towards the woods, constantly checking behind her to see if her two new and very out-of-place acquaintences were following.

"Your methods are daunting," Sa-ar intoned as he watched the human leave. "Why do we not wait for her to be by her lonesome and force her to tell all she knows?" Sa-ar narrowed his eyes. "I am certain between the two of us we could be very persuasive."

Grael cocked her head to the side before turning to Sa-ar. "As tempting as that sounds, if we were to do that then we would be risking any human friends she might have to look for her. If she works at the lab then we will be risking a heightened security."

Grael then turned and began moving in a caddycornered way towards the forest. She was staying close enough to smell the human but far enough back soas not to be seen.

"Then we lie in wait for the friends and ambush them... then get answers from them too," Sa-ar suggested as he followed Grael, mimicking her movements, disregarding the occasional stares of other humans he received as they left the premisis of what could scarcely be called civilization.

After a while Subira began to move faster in the cover of the trees, moving with unexpected agility for one who might have been mistaken for a city woman. She retraced her way back to the river she had been to previously as she picked up in speed. Once there she carefully set down her folder on a dry spot of ground. Subira glanced behind her for a moment, then she went down onto her knees by the river. In only a matter of seconds she had transformed out of her human shape, and lunged into the water to remove any lingering scent. Coming out of the river, she shook off the droplets of water from her oily hide, and then walked over to the folder and sat down on it. There she lay in wait, her yellow eyes searching for the 'humans'.

Grael smiled at Sa-ar's rebuttal. "That does sound extremely tempting. Which manner of persuasion do you think would be best?" Grael entertained the idea as she moved through the forest. The human's scent had moved farther away in a much quicker time than she thought it would.

"I am afraid I would get a little carried away if I used those methods." She added as an afterthought. It was an entirely true statement. She wanted to be careful with her vengeance for as long as possible. If she wasn't then she would lose control much too soon and other dragons might pay the price. "I don't want any more of our kind to die because I could not keep my cool."

It was at this point in their conversation that she lost the scent of the human. This was not entirely true, she could smell it faintly. The real shock was that she could smell another dragon nearby. She abandoned her round-about approach and moved directly for the faint smell. That was when she saw the tiny dragon, well, the dragon would be tiny if she was in her natural form. She looked around quickly and spotted the humans papers, the cause of the faint smell. Her gaze flashed back to the dragon curiously, though she did not speak.

"Then allow me to do the persuading. I have no passions in which to carry me to an indescretion," Sa-ar responded, narrowing his eyes. They glinted with a dim glow of green as they passed under a particularily dense canopy which blocked out most of the light. When he noted the smell of the human become suddenly faints he arched his eyebrow. It was strange that his nostrils now should be picking up the scent of another dragon, and like Grael, he made haste. He filled his lungs, about to bellow, then remembered he was in his human form and also trying to be discreet. So he held his breath for a moment, then eased it out in a sigh. Once he caught sight of the puny dragon he was taken aback. He'd never seen one so small. He pondered if maybe it was juvenile... but its horns led him to believe otherwise.

The wingless dragon remained sitting atop most of the papers, her tail flicking at the the tip periodically. She lifted up her snout, as if exaggerating sniffing the air, and then turned her head to gaze towards Sa-ar and Grael. She shifted her weight a little, causing a slight crinkle from beneath her. However, she was equally speechless.

After several long moments of staring at the new dragon curiously, Grael finally spoke. "Did you eat the human that came this way? If so I must congradulate you that you were able to kill her that quietly and consume her so quickly. I must also inform you that I had unfinished business with her."

Grael knew that the dragon would know what she was by smell and didn't bother informing it of such a mundane truth. She was still debating on whether or not she would tell her name to this new one.

Indignation read loudly across the dragon's face as she pulled her head back, forming aditional creases along her long neck. "Eat a human? That is disgusting. The things they do to their bodies sours the meat." She snorted and then shook her head. "I may be viewed as primitive by your kind but I am not savage." The dragon glanced behind herself at the river. "One may have taken an unplanned journey down the river, however."

Sa-ar crossed his arms over his chest, lifting his chin somewhat. "I am sure you are aware that you are on top of human artifact, wingless whelp. Give it here." Sa-ar took only a few steps towards the dragon, thrusting an open hand out expectantly. However, he did not close the entire distance between himself and the creature, relying on her to obediently bring the item over.

Grael nodded as Sa-ar spoke. "Which is precisely why I assumed you ate her, not because of your size, or breed." Grael did not even know what type this dragon was, and therefore had no prejudices against it. "And the only beings on this planet I find vulgar or savage are the humans."

Grael stayed in her place and waited to see what the small dragon would do. This dragon was obviously hiding something, the question was what it was.

The mottled dragon lowered her head, staring at Sa-ar's hands, but did not move. "Why?" Her tail began to sway side to side slowly, an her claws dug into the dirt from tensing them, only to release them again. Furthermore, her pointed ears, an uncommon feature among dragons, were pinned back like that of a cross cat, or perhaps a distressed horse. "So long as you find all humans vulgar and savage, you aren't any better than them. Prejudice and generalizing are human vices."

Sa-ar let his face slip into a most terrible scowl at being refused. He bore his teeth, wrinkled his nose, and furrowed his eyebrows until the pinched skin between them creased. "Do not make me ask again!" He was not in the mood to remark on her other comments, he was too consumed with her failure to oblige him.

Ci'nala heard a faint growl from the distance. She recognized it at once; it was Sa-ar. At first, she started wondering if everything was okay back at the cliffs, then she just shrugged her big shoulders.

Tryst'n, however, did react to the growl and was confused.
"Silia, did you hear that? It sounded like Sa-ar was either in trouble or ticked off."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 14, 2010 7:40 pm

Silia cocked her ear and nodded. "Yes, that's him alright. But knowing the little I do of Sa-ar, I would guess that it's more likely that he's causing the trouble than in trouble," she chuckled.

Glancing over at Anya, she noticed that the girl had drifted off. "Poor child," she shook her head. "She's had quite a day."

She turned back to Tryst'n. "So, now were you able to escape?"

"It is not a generalization but an observation. They kill things for sport and none of them have the proper respect for their place in this world. They have fallen too far and must pay for their many transgressions towards the earth they stand on. They are good for nothing but destruction." Grael had become snappish. She did not take kindly to being insulted.

"The only way to cure our world is to destroy them before they destroy everything."

The dragon craned her neck, looking where a bit of paper peeked out from beneath her girth, then back at Sa-ar. "I am not refusing. I am asking why I should give it to you. It's my find. I doubt you could read it anyhow." She then turned her attention back to Grael, her eyes growing more and more inattentive as she went on. She idly lifted one of her forelegs and spread her claws out, inspecting them with a bored sigh, then rolled her eyes back on Grael. "My how you do go on. I won't argue with you any longer; it wouldn't do any good."

"Impudent fool! I..." Sa-ar caught himself and took in a long breath to steady himself. He had failed to remember that he likely could not read whatever script the humans were using in these latter days. It was nicer in the old days, when they wrote with pictures in large stone tablets, or upon their walls. "Your rudeness does you no credit, you muck crawling peon."

Grael had to utilize all of her self control to keep from pouncing on this tiny lizard. It was true that neither of them could read the script on the papers, making them useless. She had a feeling that the dragon they faced, however, could make excellent use of them. Why else would she hoard them.

Grael looked at the river and a grin grew on her face. It was not the ocean but it would do. The waters began to thrash and wave. The waves grew more wild until finally a large wave crashed down on the miniscule dragon and mad the papers sopping wet and entirely too fragile to be handled by a dragon if they were to stay useful.
