Draxis muttered quietly, partway to himself, but also so Air could hear, as he held the staff. "You're lucky. Only defense mechanism on this thing was triggered by you.. one easily rectified at that." Turning the staff, he whistled softly. "Ah, so that barrier t'Commander was talking about is partway the fault of this. The staff holds the magic, but something else works as the anchor for t'barrier, at it's centre. If we destroy this, the magic should subside...Ahhh, interesting. Rather than the amulet like Traj said, it was this bugger that controlled all the armour pieces. Something else actually construced them though, guess it was that. If the armour was still about, it might be possible for someone with strong magic powers t'control em- which means we're destroying this staff as soon as possible." Looking up for a moment, Draxis had a playful smile on his lips. "It's also used for communicatin', as we've seen...several connections. I'm unable to do anything with 'em, not without a specific codeword. Of course, the spell would have been casted on the staff, so there may still be traces of this codeword somewhere. Give me a few minutes to scour." Head back down, his hands and swords grew much brighter as he thoroughly searched.

As Draxis searches through the orb, feeling every bit of it, he finds something that seems like an encryption. As he starts to analyse it, he finds the word shinn, but it's difficult to decipher how this word should be used in order to establish a connection.

After another twenty seconds, with a look of satisfaction on his face, Draxis put the staff down softly. "Shinn. Seems to be a prominent word. I'd be willing t'bet a load of silvers it's used to start a connection. Only thing is, I've no idea how we use it." Moving over to Air, he gave a small wave with his hand- an attempt to nullify the spell that had come over her.

Draxis stared at her oddly. Hadn't she been on the roof? "I won't bore y'with details. If we destroy the staff, we destroy the barrier...Good plan considering this thing was used to command the armour. A different artifact creates the armour...the amulet maybe? Finally, we can use this to communicate...if we work out how. It has something to do with the word Shinn."
