RP Name: Jonathan "Candyman" Walthers
Branch of intended service: Naval Armed Forces, Surface Warfare
Current Location: Bus
Objective: Arrival at camp

For the what felt like the 50-thousandth time on this long bus ride, Jonathan "Candyman" wiped his brow of the sweat from this god-forsaken heat. Whether it was because he was more used to the colder climes of his one-time home, or because the A/C was out, Jonathan simply could not tell. Regardless, it was better than getting covered in sausage-grease. He'd even managed to evade his Father's wrath at his going the "plutocratic-fascists' collective army of oppressers of the People." What joy! He snorted derisively, scratching at his mild five o'clock shadow. This had just not been his week. He leaned against the seat, trying not to jostle the shoulder of another recruit sitting next to him. For lack of anything better to do but stare out of the window at the passing trees, grass, pastures, and more trees, he hummed absent-mindedly to himself.
Better to distract yourself than jinx yourself with anxiety, He thought to himself. He grinned. Least my commie friends didn't hear of my heresy and witch-craft... He chortled to himself, knocking his arm against the recruit next to him.
"Oh...uh, sorry, mate. Didn't mean to bump you..." He said in quiet apology, futilely attempting to scoot away from the recruit. He didn't turn to face him...her? Not much room for it.

((Great, except for the part of the Recruit you faced. Only do internal actions.

Basically it's like this. Never assume anything. Ever.

Otherwise you would have passed! blaugh ))

(Outstanding!!! xd Thank you, Commander! Shall I assume that I am allowed to post in the Naval Training area, now? Or is there something else I need to do in this process first before going on?)

((NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING! scream

Never Assume = makes an a** out of U and Me.

But yes.

As long as you know not to control other people's actions. 3nodding ))

(Derp. Of course sir. I shall do so right away. Thank you again for admitting me to this guild! xd )

((lol, thanks for joining! blaugh ))

Katana Drifers
Army
Bus
Arrival

He got up early, even before the alarm clock rang at 5.30 a.m.After cleanse himself up,he had his breakfast with his old, sick father. No words spoken between them, both drowned in his own world.Katana wanted to speak to his father, but he seem to be ignoring him.Katana sighed, and patted his father's shoulder before leaving the tiny, messy dining room, taking his luggage with him. When walking past the door,he doesn't looked back,as he knew he will shed his tears, looking at his pitiful dad.
He stepped to the bus stand, and waited. The bus came early today,as like the driver knew he wanted to leave as soon as possible. In the whole journey,he kept quiet, and lost in his own world. He only woke up when the bus halted, and after paid the fare,he walked into the area, the Army Base Camp.He sighed, and silently bid farewell goodbye to his father.Braving himself,he walked into the dark alley on the foyer for registration to be a new recruit.

For Suicidesoldier#1 : Sorry my mistake.I didn't read the AMP and I don't really ever being involved in RP.So sorry, sir!

((Well... that's okay! Most of what you did was speedhacksz, and to be honest, and you improperly followed the story plot.

Your supposed to be on a bus, talking to yourself, thinking, or describing remote events on the bus, and then the bus stops, and you start to get off (or get off).

As for the rest, you let me, the Drill Sergeant talk to you, and then you respond accordingly; if you get to that part. 3nodding ))

Tihian "Tihi" Remorant
Infantry
Bus
Arrival

As the bus shook and rumbled over the uneven ground, Tihian stared blankly at the other faces in the bus, though she did her best to avoid any direct eye-contact with anyone around her. Her angered and furious tongue longed to unleash itself upon her fellow residents, along with a man who identified himself as the 'Drill Sergeant' and was now screaming his head off at someone in the bus. His voice was quite loud- almost unnecessarily so, as the interior of the vehicle seemed to amplify it into a deafening roar. Though she did her best to keep her eyes and mind blank of emotions, the insufferable heat of the day and loud, booming voices made it difficult to keep her temper even and her voice silent. Was enduring all of this verbal abuse and sweltering weather really supposed to make her stronger? Put that with the physical conditioning she would have to complete, and this place seemed to be a place that was designed with her in mind- a place of suffering, just for her.

Slanting a wistful look towards the others around her, Tihian settled back into her seat, though the feeling of sweat running down her back from the intense heat created much discomfort for her. Disgusting, she thought with a grimace. And to think, she wasn't even in the encampment yet, let alone under the physical, mental, and emotional stress of the military's brutal trainings. Today was a day she detested above all others: having been kicked out of her house unceremoniously by her parents, being shipped off to the military to fix what didn't need fixing, and now the the ride itself was showing its own tormenting side- all in one day, no less. What more could possibly go wrong in a single day in her life?

As the bus began to slow, the heat seemed to magnify itself, as though to literally roast everyone inside alive. With the vehicle coming to a stop, Tihian peered out the window, feeling a mixture of fear and apprehension stirring beneath the anger that simmered and threatened to burst forth. With her clothes sticking to flesh like a second, sticky skin, she closed her eyes, begging for it all to be over. It was impossible to find any sort of positive view in this current situation, and her pessimistic side only reassured her that more troubles lay ahead, and there was nothing anyone could or would to stop them.

((Pretty good. Good sentence structure, spelling, and grammar. You as well used a wide variety of ad-verbs and adjectives, which was nice.

You also mostly described minute or less than controlling actions, mostly internal information. You described the Drill Sergeant, or me, yelling, which under normal circumstances could be considered puppeting, but given the fact that I was yelling... it's okay! blaugh

You presented the correct exploitation of that kind of event, which was very nice.

So, you passed, with flying colors! blaugh

Just make sure to familiarize yourself with the AMP and you should be alright! ))

((Yup, I read through the AMP, and I'll be sure to keep it close by, to ensure that I don't go overboard with any of the RP posts I'll be doing later. Sorry if the way I typed made me sound like I was puppeting the Drill Sergeant, but I was having a bit of trouble phrasing it, and I suppose it came out a bit wrong [in the sense that my post sounded like it manipulated a character that wasn't my own for a moment].

Ahmed Benjamin Diamond
Air Force
Bus
Arrival and Recruitment

It was as if passing through some rift in space and time as the young man sat quietly in his seat on the bus. It smelled of grease and sweat as the humid climate of the summer that the vehicle was passing through made perspiration a more than common thing amongst the occupants of the bus. Sitting on his lap was a brown paper bag containing the sustenance he was given by his mother for the long ride. Peanut Butter and Marshmallow fluff sandwich, and a can of Ginger Ale. While this was indeed his favorite snack, having it packed for him so "lovingly" and given to him by his mother was frankly thoroughly embarrassing. He felt the familiarity of home dissipate into nothingness as the bus rolled on the pavement. Though the landscape was still green, he could make out nothing else. Too much was plaguing his mind. Leaving home for good. Perhaps it was fear for himself, but more for what he left behind. The best friends of his life and the family he loved. He would be away for an untold number of years. He projected about four years. He assumed that he would be able to contact them every so often. But it really wasn't the same as seeing them. Perhaps the sentiment he currently felt was loneliness.

That seemed about right. Ahmed, in the bus full of nervous recruits who left people behind and who loved their family and friends very dearly, was lonely. He figured that the others felt the same way and technically in that sense, he shouldn't be lonely - but everyone felt the same way. Alienated. He spoke to no one, and no one spoke to him - and if they did, he didn't notice, and didn't respond. He was generally outgoing, but in a place like this, the apprehension of the task ahead and not knowing quite what to expect and the powerful looking build of some of the recruits here who probably had played football or something in high school held his tongue. Ahmed was just...fast. Strong? Not so much. But there were girls as well. Somehow the presence of women on the bus made him feel a lot better. They weren't so threatening, so imposing. He could almost relate to them. Not to say that he was effeminate at all, but he knew that generally they wouldn't pick fights unless he picked fights with them. Perhaps, though, picking fights was just part of the training, the conditioning. Mentally, at least. He didn't like to think of himself as a wimp. But in the face of such imposing characters - even the bus driver looked burly and intimidating to him, at least - he quickly changed his mind about that assumption.

The pavement passed into gravel, and the transit to the alternative universe was complete. Everyone outside was in uniform, ruler straight, ever more intimidating as time passed by. The buildings were less than attractive and much less than comforting. Tents and concrete and heat and sweat and dry gravel and the crunching of boots on said gravel and everything about the place was unnerving, but he stood his ground. No, his pride wouldn't let him run away. When he took a challenge on, he never backed down. He rose with his belongings, and in a not so orderly fashion exited the bus into the complex after it had rolled to a stop. As soon as he got out, he lined up with the other recruits, and didn't move a muscle. No matter how many times he could be driven so out of his wits that he throws up, no matter how many times the spittle of a drill instructor wet his face, he would stand there. He imagined himself to be something of a stone obelisk rooted there, unconcerned at the passers-by, the leaners-on, or the weather, simply a monument to endurance and the test of time...but it could be said that Ahmed just looked like a recruit holding in the biggest s**t of his life, tense and sweating like a mule. But he kept his eyes open. That was the difference between standing there constipated and standing there petrified by nervousness and apprehension.

(( Very good. Nice grammar, spelling, and sentence structure; as well as a decent story as well.

The only thing you maybe did wrong was get off the bus and stand in line before you knew whether or not you should stand in line, but, given that you were supposed to do, it's not such a big deal.

Great job! blaugh

I see. I'm kinda feeling my way around this one; I haven't RPed many boot camp or basic training scenarios, so this is a sorta new thing to me. But thanks! smile
