Zdura nodded thoughtfully at Luo's explanation. The untempered will of a shinobi, to seek conflict and triumph over it, the desire to get stronger and stronger, to be the strongest of all. It was a desire held by most all young shinobi, graduates from any academy. The best tempered it with wisdom and knowledge, as himself and Luo. For some it dulled, becoming refined and focused rather than the wild unfocused will to power of their youth. Some kept it strong, becoming berserkers on the battlefield, war shinobi. But the few who did not learn in time how to control that will... Their fate was the worst of all, as one young boy had learned earlier that day. One could only hope that they were able to learn from that mistake.

"If you would like." Zdura spoke up again after a short pause to think on that matter. "I would be willing to train that other boy, when he recovers. Perhaps not in his element, but in the more important things." He wasn't sure why, but he felt the need to make that offer. It would be a shame to see the boy fall because of the mistake that could lead him to redemption. If Luo had to force someone to train him, as was likely from they way they had spoken of it, the training itself would be forced. An unwilling instructor did not teach from the heart, they didn't build up their pupil to be their best. If he could help avoid that, he would. Because there was something in that boy too, that reminded him of himself as a child. The anger and loss, the need to fight and prove yourself better than... Something. He hadn't seen a headband, but was the boy perhaps a survivor of Iwagakure? That would explain quite a lot. The anger and loss, his village was gone. The will to fight and prove yourself. He had been unable to save his home from whoever had attacked. It was a trauma he had felt himself, not once but twice in his life. He had gone down that path of rage as a boy, and been saved from it by one person who stepped out and taught him better. Perhaps, he could be that person now.

Finishing the rice ball he had, Luo listened somewhat attentively to what Zdura had to say. Internally a response was generated almost in a heartbeat, however externally he took his time giving an answer to the proposal Zdura set forth. After about a minute of silence as he washed down the rice ball with the water he had left, he placed the glass down and looked over at him. "Quite the offer, however I must unfortunately decline. I can already see what foreign ideals have done to his method of response to certain situations, and I'd rather not further destroy his chances of becoming a shinobi of the mist. Not because I believe your teachings would be incorrect or even just plain awful, but because it is not the way or Kirigakure. If he is to be a Kiri-nin, then he will learn the Kiri way, in whatever fashion that may be. You can do something else for me however." As Nikko placed another glass of water in front of Luo, he motioned for a check. As usual however, Nikko's hands shot up in disapproval of the young kage's request. With a sigh, Luo made a twirling motion with his left index finger and then once more tapped the bar for a check. The man shook his head and muttered a simple 'Alright' before going to get what Luo wanted. It was clear to Nikko what he had done and more than likely would become clear to all the other shinobi who were eating there once they tried to pay. If Luo was not going to pay for his meal, then he would pay for the meal of every Kiri shinobi there.

As he waited for him to put together the lengthy check, Luo turned once more to Zdura. "I'm assuming you are familiar with escort missions. Since I can and have assumed that to be the case, and I assume you to have been quite a capable shinobi of Otogakure, then surely you can handle escorting me to Shimogakure. The Village Hidden in Frost separates Konoha from Kumo. It's a territory owned by Kumogakure, and therefore the most optimal neutral meeting ground of myself and the Raikage. I need two escorts and although I'd rather none, it would seem.....disrespectful to appear too good for what was requested of me. My first escort has fallen ill once more, and my second has inexplicably yet to return from his mission. I have found one replacement, however I need another. Care to fill that position?"

Zdura frowned, but nodded, to Luo's answer. "Understandable." was his only verbal response. He didn't like it of course, as it was a hit, however small, on his abilities as a teacher. But it was right in the end, thus why it was understandable. Luo didn't know him, or his methods, and he didn't know the ways of mist that well yet himself. But then Luo added on that he had a different task for him. Before explaining though, he requested a check, apparently wishing to leave soon, if not immediately. What followed was amusing to the clone in the highest order. As a bartender for many years, Yasashii had seen the exact gesture Luo used done several times, usually by partying men who wanted to share their mirth, occasionally by rich traders who were passing through to make a kind gesture. But here it seemed Luo was doing it just to mess with the shop owner. Zdura considered actually ordering something after that, but it still seemed pointless, considering he didn't seem to need to eat anyways.

As Luo continued into the explanation of his task, Zdura found himself intrigued. A meeting between the Mizukage and Raikage, and he wanted Zdura as an escort to it? "I would be honored." Zdura answered honestly. Even asking him was a gesture of trust on some level from the Mizukage. Unless of course it was to keep a personal eye on him, but even that could be considered an honor to some degree. The chance to be the personal guard of a kage though, was one few ninja ever received.

"I do have one request though." Zdura added, carefully. He normally wouldn't have asked this of him, but an escort mission meant you were leaving the village, and likely soon. The chances of another mission in the meantime were slim, and he had things he needed to buy. Well, not needed, but they would make life easier by far. "I know the last mission was basically a failure, but if I could ask for even partial payment from it, or a forward on the next mission even, I would be most grateful. I don't after all, have much in the way of financial support quite yet." he finished, quirking a smile at his tiny joke at the end. It was a fancy way of saying he was broke. A state, he had to admit, he'd never suffered before, not since he was too young to worry about money at all.

As Nikko seemed to be busy furiously writing and calculating all that was ordered and how much Luo owed, Zdura's response came quickly. He admitted it was an expected response for such a request, however for him it was a matter of circumstance. He had delayed the trip for far too long now and needed to do something about it, and just as well since gregar had yet to return with the information on Zdura he had requested, the man still needed to be regarded with some level of caution. So, it was a no brainer for Luo to simply ask the man to accompany him so that one of the sharpest pairs of eyes in his village could keep watch over him, as he himself kept watch over Luo.

Soon however, there was a mention about his last mission and the pay he wished to receive. "That mission was inconclusive, however you will still be paid partially for it. Still, that payment is usually deposited directly into a shinobi account. Since you don't have one yet because you aren't a citizen, the accounts office holds that money until a name is designated to the miscellaneous account they keep that money in. However, you should know that all kage escort missions in Kiri require that half of the pay be issued upfront prior to the engagement of the mission. A kage doesn't always hire government shinobi for such a task, some may even simply hire a clan or an assassin they've come to know. This clause insures that whomever the Mizukage's life is entrusted to is bound by monetary contract to protect them at all cost. Fortunately, assassins in this country hold money to be as vital of a contract as blood. So, once I draw up some quick paperwork you'll have some money to keep you for a while."

"That certainly seems acceptable." Zdura nodded, satisfied with the knowledge that he would be getting a bit of money soon enough. The additional information about escort missions in Kiri was interesting as well. A peek into the village's workings. With everything said and done, it seemed the conversation had most likely come to an end. Zdura really had nothing to add, and Luo was probably wanting to get to... Wherever it was he was going from there. Standing up from his stool, Zdura nodded to Luo. He didn't bother extend his hand to shake Luo's this time, as he normally would, since Luo surely wouldn't accept it from him for quite some time, if ever. "I'll let you go then. I'm sure you have a lot to prepare. Please send for me when you're ready to set out." With that said, Zdura gave a short bow and stepped back. He wouldn't leave just yet, in case Luo still had something to say, but as soon as the dismissal was clear he'd head out. Probably to his apartment to wait for word on the money.

As the bill for the restaurant's meal came, Luo wrote a series of numbers on the receipt and signed it. One would speculate the numbers to correlate to the account he held at Kiri bank, and one would not entirely be wrong. However, what one who thought that way had to realize, was that above all else Luo was not a fool. That bank number, was to an account he kept the minimum amount of five gold in until it was necessary to use. Then knowing it took the bank a week to process all receipts received with account numbers, the man would wait literally until the bank was open for one more hour to transfer the amount he had charged to it earlier that week. Apart from keeping up with the clan's finances, he just as well had to somewhat monitor the quite extensive cache of gold he'd built over the years during missions that he simply had no use for given his status within the village.

Standing up as Zdura bowed, he nodded his head at him simply muttering an "Alright," before turning and beginning to take his leave. However, it was then that he heard the restaurant go silent, and one jounin squad leader he recognized speak up with head bowed calling him 'Lord Mizukage.' With a slight sigh to himself realizing more than likely what was about to happen, he turned around to address the lot. On the behalf of the other shinobi he thanked the man for their meal, and then they all bowed and a resounding 'Thank you sir' filled the room. He really wanted to avoid the response, much rather having donated their lunch as an anonymous benefactor, however he should've known better from a bunch as attentive as this one. Without hesitation, Luo gave a bow as deep as the one they gave him, something most officials simply did not do and considered 'beneath them.' For Luo however, it was merely a necessary sign of mutual respect. After all, their day to day work these days was harder than most of the boring stuff Luo had to deal with (at least in his opinion).

"No shinobi of Kirigakure, thank you for your service to your country. If I or even the village could afford it, all of your meals would be paid for. So please, as you were." With such a seemingly saccharine method of leadership, one who didn't know the young kage had to wonder how he got anything done, and exactly why his shinobi respected him so much even in every small decision he made. For Luo however, there were more than a few shinobi in the bunch as well as in the village that revered him for a feat he found to be the only true misstep in his career as a shinobi. As they rose to meet his gaze all with smiles, the seemed to nod at varying times before sitting back down and finishing their meals. Turning back around, he gave Zdura a final nod before walking toward the entrance and pushing back one of the blue drapes to the shop, headed down the alley back to the office.
