Whenever you think "left, left, left, right, left" while walking in step with your friends and random people. When you start humming band songs and cadances. And when you start to finger your music in the middle of class.

(: -When you try and make your Gaia avi look like a marching uniform. -When you buy a series of band books. (: (The Line series and Band Geek Love series. xD)

When you 'convert' your lover to a band geek in order to both show lover the awesomeness and to spend more time together. When you have to walk in time with anyone you're with and get frustrated when they change tempo without a warning of some sort. When you randomly speed up or slow down your pace with songs in your head. When you even try to bike in time with the music you're listening to (can be a bit difficult).

Fenrir Esbjorn As a percussionist/bass player, these are the ones I do. ~When out somewhere, you habitually tap your hands, fingers and/or feet to a beat in your head or one going on around you. ~Listening to songs you instantly find the beat and figure what time it's in. ~You have, or want to, name a pet after something music-related. (Crescendo, sonata, etc) ~When having sex, you move to some imaginary beat or to the beat of the music you're listening to and never break the beat. (This one I thought was quite funny when it was brought to my attention) It's like you know me!

When you find yourself stalking everyone in your band and they are stalking you too! When a joke about a trumpet solo ends up as your status on MySpace

-You make a site, complete with forums, band jokes and band comics, dedicated to band. -You turn your entire band into animals for said comics -For said site, you create a playlist of music. -That music is almost all classical

All of this was off of a t-shirt i found at the band night
If you think its hard to: ~Carry 45lb of dead weight on 1 shoulder and stand up straight ~Practice in the heat and play in the snow ~Get along with 200 people you love(no really) ~Stand in close proximity to 20 guys hitting the drums with all they've got while bopping your head like your into it ~Blow until your lungs explode ~Wear an 80lb wool uniform in the 110 degree heat ~Watch your music and the director while exhaling, moving your fingers, coordinating that with your tongue, tapping your foot, while continuously listening to the other players around you so that you can make 1 of 1000 adjustments ~ Learn several different languages (some that are completely made up) ~Maintain good posture while holding a horn and running the 100yd dash(some players occasionally fall thus making it the 100yd hurdles) ~Understanding the subtitles of "As loud as possible" and "a little louder than that" ~wear those 1930's q-tips we call shakos and chill in public ~Play one of Michael Jacksons greatest hits on an Oboe ((i prefer Baritone)) ~Listen to a bad tuba section- listen to to a good tuba section((i would say for all besides Baritones)) ~Remember to show up for performance with all the little things that you might need like white gloves, your band uniform, YOUR HORN, you know...little things then MAYBE your not tough enough to be In The Band
oh yea my favorite website to go to is called www.playauditorium.com

You know that you're a band nerd when:
-you come up to random ppl walking ahead of you and say "left right, left left, right right" and see them tripping over themselves
-you get hit by a flag, no matter what instrument you play (mostly clarinets)
-your favorite site becomes jwpepper.com
-when you have kept all of your music since 6th grade
-band shoes make a diffrence
-knows tht plastic reeds are best for marching
-Woodwinds are smarter than brass and EVERYONE is smarter than percussion
-when you and your best friend's instruments make babies and you name them (my boy clarinet married my bestie's-a girl- clarinet and made her saxophone- Allie xd )
-when the WHOLE band, including the color gaurds and dancers, know the tuba parts
-pep band is the easiest and most fun
-knowing the whole entire stands music by memory (we have atlst 56)
-leaving your music/colored pin on the field AFTER band camp (EPIC FAIL)
-when clarinets nvr get called out for sectionals bc were so perfect heart

You know your a band nerd when:
You constantly hum your songs You pretend your fingering your instrument (yeah, hardy harr harr) You tap your foot to the music all the time for no reason Your favorite genre is your pep band music You think of yourself as an athlete (no really, marching band can be a workout) You can tell that someone is out of tune when a bunch of other instruments are playing
I could go on and on and on...
