{I'm using a spell from one of my family's. I hope you don't mind...here is the family, it basically a smaller version of the Order}

The guard stiffened for a moment and then focused. He drew his sword and prepared for the attack. However as he got his blade into position, he felt a sudden burning inside of his lower throat.

The burning, was soon joined by a feeling that his stomach reign was being sucked. He gripped his stomach, and opened his mouth as the pain increased and seem to spread through his throat.

Shurxena watch calmly, flipping the dagger up and down. "This one is my favorite. Though Puppet Strings is also very interest. The most enjoyable is the...Oh."

She did a quick side step as the guard, fighting the pain, attacked. He swung loosely at her as if his strength was waning. As she set her feet prepared for another strike, she noted that the pathetic male was now clutching the side of his face. "Ah, it appears that it is reach for your brain. I wonder where it will get to first...your mind or your heart?"

{Introducing the Creeping Wire...It needs flesh contact to begin working on the victim. I should write that.}

Larexith said nothing but rather stood there expressionless and calm. She noted the girl's words. Although it was helpful that the girl explained the process, she didn't quite like so much taunting. If the girl was truly trying to impress her, then she would make talk short and brief. Seeing the guard dieing in pain slowly was amusing to her but she was still rather interested in the other spells the girl may have.

"I certainly hope that's not all you have to offer. You might want to hurry your demonstration before this one dies. You won't be getting another," Lari smiled at her blunt statement. Hoping it would be enough to motivate the young drowess.

This Matron must be one of those that doesn't enjoy the full beauty of pain or maybe she is simply unstable...I think the latter, Shruxena thought as she darted a dry glance over to the Matron.

She let out a silent huff of air before pulling her hood off completely. Lets see here...Oh, I know! I don't use it often but... She smiled as she pulled three fine pieces of thread from her hood. She muttered quickly as she placed one on the back of her hand, another on her elbow and the last at the top of her shoulder. Still muttering, she turned her eyes back to the guard, who was still fighting the pain, though it was now making steady progress further up is face.

Suddenly his hand, which carried the blade, jumped. Shurxena made her arm parallel to the floor. The guard did the same. She gave a grim smile as she moved the arm through a few passing wings.

Carefully, testing her control, she raised her arm as she too carried the sword and put it at the guard face. She forced him to cut deeply right over where strain facial tissue was. "There now...," She said quietly. "I should stop moving up your face now."

She then raised the arm up and then forced the guard to swing at his own leg. She hammered at his knee joint in till he buckled, clenching his lip so hard that it bleed.

"This is very handy for fake suicides and blamed killings. You know those killing where one person kills many and then themselves...very useful for that. It is one of the more physical ones though...Are you attempting to move your other arm?" She directed the question to the guard was weakly trying to move his arm to grab the sword. She sighed and then started to mutter again. This time her hair appeared sharper, more stiff.

Quickly she raised her free hand, pulled and strand out that looked more like a needle and throw it so that it hit the guard elbow joint. The guard flinched, and let the arm fall. She then quickly picked up the cloth that had served as her hood and used her teeth to pull out two more threads. She crouched slightly pointing, holding one thread between her teeth another in her hand. She held out her arm pointing behind the guard.

She murmured around the thread. There was a soft tink sound before she straightened. Then she walked calmly over to the guard, so was still battle the waves of pain. He glared at her as she raise her hand, find the perfect spot of where the shoulder was almost parallel to the floor. She quickly murmured, which was followed by another tink sound. She walked back, "I would advice you male not to move your arm again...You might lose it."

The guard simply glared at her and the rapidly raise his free arm, only to have a cut appear right at his should joint. He jerk back, only to be cut on his back. "This is called Silken Thread, it was a favorite back home. Though normally you have to lay it out before hand, most can't just do this on the fly. Hey, male, how about I give you a break. I'll finish you off nice and quick?"

Lariexith cackled manically, "Impressive, my dear! I certainly hope you have a grand finale to finish him off!"

Shurxena let a small smirk flight across her face as her hand shifted into her pouch and let her feet carry her close to the Guard.

Kneeling, she whispered into the males ear, "I know the pain is bad, however I need you to trust me when I saw I'll try to make it quick. Do you?"

The guard twitched and then stiffly nodded. She forced herself not to smirk as she stood, "Open you mouth and drink this," She whispered and as the guard obeyed she let three drops down his throat.

Stepping back she murmured under her breath for a moment and then stopped on the far side of the room. It was only then that she let the smirk all the way across her face, which worried the kneeling guarding. All she mouthed was, I promise.

Then she raised one of her hands, and the guard eyes bulged and his veins became more pronounced. The scream that he had been holding back broke from his lips and not a moment later the veins on his sword arm broke free as he lifted the sword.

As she focused on lifted the sword. He started to scream insulted at her, in till she started to pulled at the his throat veins. He gagged and then started to through up blood. He attempted at that moment to turn the blade on himself. As he leaned forward to gagged he sliced his shoulder losing the arm completely, Well that wasn't suppose to happen...oh well, it just mean I should wrap this up. It was rather fun...

She sighed before she released the spells on the guard
completely. Letting the guard kill himself, though she wasn't fully sure about that since the potion often made people suicidal without the weaver doing anything. She quickly checked herself and was happy to see that she was still clean before turning to the Matron, "Have a demonstrated my abilities enough to meet your expectations, honored Matron?"

Lari raised her hand as she swept the cone of anti magic away as she stepped out to further investigate the damage on what was left of the guard. She then nodded her head as she moved back over to the seating away, "Very good, my girl. Very good."

She then turned around and leaned against a chair as she assumed a more relaxed position. Her gaze drifted up to the archers in the rafters. She didn't seem to make any gesture to make them at ease but they caught her gaze and shifted back and disappeared into the darkness.

The Matron then dropped her gaze to meet at level with the drowess, "Do you feel pleased with your demonstration?"

Shurxena looked at the guard. At first she had been proud of her trade, but now that it was over the glitter of the moment was gone. She had come to hate it. When you get into the kill you tend to get flashy, my friend. There is no helping that...unless of course you gain some control, her closest 'friend's' voice echoed through her head. Which is true, I was overly flashy...I really am not fond of it anymore.

Sighing, she said, "Matron, I happy that I could deliver something that pleases you. However...I would have like something more quiet and would have used fewer spells. That said, I can handle louder if that is what you desire."

Lari held up her hand to silence the girl, "I was looking for a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer. What you did was what I ordered you too. I asked to see the extent of your power and you gave me a demonstration. You asked if I liked your show and now I'm asking you.. Do you feel that you did your best? If you were standing in my position, would you be impressed?"

The Matron pressed the drowess. Hoping to see how confident she was with her work. Confidence in her work would tell her how confidant she may be in her ambitions. And would effect her judgment on the girl.

Shurxena was slightly shocked. No one had asked her who she actually felt about her about her work. Pausing in thought to calculated a good reply, she realized that the Matron was trying to test her again. She isn't interested in my true thoughts...she just wants to know if she is safe from my little tricks.

"I'm sorry, honored Matron. I shall answer as you wish," She took a short breath before continuing, "No, I was not pleased with my demonstration."

She looked down at the dead guard, step back a bit when she noted that some blood was nearing her foot. Oh, yes. I pleased. I pleased I taught that disgusting male to show respect those of higher standing.

The Matron smiled and quirked an eyebrow, "Really? So are you saying that I shouldn't be impressed by your presentation?"

The Matron laughed twisting the girl's words without realizing the facts behind the twists.

"My dear, I can honestly say I am liking you more by the minute. You really are quite amusing. I can't help but give the rookies a hard time. This is a powerful House and I require only the best. Its what has got me this far. But I have noticed the pros and cons of your power. Regardless if that demonstration was your best or not. You seem to like to take your time. Which is no surprise from what you told me that was how you were taught. You also liked to do a LOT of narrating. Though I didn't mind you explaining to me the effects of the spell and what not. The taunting you gave to the guard was a bit annoying I must admit. At this point I'd like to see you as my Royal Fool. An entertainer, a jester! Your spells and narration would fit perfectly for that. Of course I'm not saying your sorcery is nothing but a big joke. But, I would suggest less talking. If you get caught up in your little act then another foreigner could just come up behind you and stab you. You have a lot of potential. I know you know that. Then again.. I have not seen you in battle so I can't make judgment on how you work things. Coming from a drowess who has practiced battle mage magic before I even started Priestess training, take it as my advice and nothing more.

We do a lot of raiding here in Tor'afin. Most of the raids come from the surface. One of my many family heirlooms I inherited was an elven city which is where we tend to raid and get our shipment. The Weaponsmaster we have here also has a surface city in his control. So I would like you to take that and put it in perspective. We're a battle lusted House. We enjoy carnage and victories. So in order for you to join this House then you will be required to be always thinking that you're in a war. Which is what my concerns were earlier. When you're in the heart of battle, time is of the essence. Do you think you can handle that?"

Shurxena was tempted to say that she knew quite a bit about constant battles. However she held her tongue and kept her thoughts on the Order's Annual Purge.

Its sad that no one outside the Order has ever heard of the Purge....So much fun...so much fun. Each year a list of the weak and pathetic members would be delivered. Then they would be hunted. Oh the fun of that time. Though it really was just a more intense version of every other day, She thought smiling a little. Still those were the days I loved the most. Those three months were wonderful.

Letting out a sigh of wistfulness before she said, "Yes, honored Matron. I can handle everlasting battle planning and constant strategies. I will also take you advice to heart...you wisdom will not misplaced."

The Matron nodded at the drowess's response before continuing, "We have many positions available here. Although, the way we work things is much like Ulorbbath itself. In order to get a rank you desire is to earn it. So I'm thinking of letting you become a commoner for now. After looking over your skills you seem to fall more into the spellcaster category which is the highest ranking commoner we have. However, your skills in retrieving information could prove to be useful for a Scout which is a minor assassin in our house. Given those two choices, what do you think would be your choice?"

She sighed, the woman really couldn't think that she was going to place her under a pathetic male's control in this scouts duty. I've learned to tolerate they're presences. However I don't think I can handle working under one...I'll simply have to kill him...

At the same time, she knew her tolerance for playing the casters game of movement was even less. No simple kill and move in that job....
"No offense, Honored Matron, I have very little interest in books and studies...I prefer to learn by experimenting, it is far more amusing than a book," She said stiffly reflecting on the her time as a student.

Lari narrowed her eyes at the girl. She was working her for a better rank. But the Matron knew she had to have the drowess in her collection. Her work was absolutely remarkable and could prove useful in later schemes. She thought about having her for a Priestess but shook the thought away as quickly as it had come. That would put her far too close to the Matron position. Then she thought, Head Assassin and Archmage was still available. Archmage could suit the girl for awhile but eventually the position would bore her and might cause her to look ahead to more dangerous positions. But Head Assassin might work. The schemes already began to fill her head.

"Well... there is a Noble position available that might follow in line with your work. Its a spot that I need quite badly at the moment, come to think of it. How would you fair with Head Assassin?"

I wonder how many string will come with it, Was the first thought to cross Shurxena's mind followed by. And are when can I start kill off the weaklings?
Those question's remained in her head however as she said aloud, "I wouldn't mind the position at all, honored Matron."
