So randomness. I've been poking around on amazon, adding books to my already rather extensive wishlist. Anyway, while reading reviews and comments I noted something about my reactions to them. Is it weird that I tend to take (often negative) comments about a book being highly scholarly or academic as recommendations?

I don't think that would be that weird. Maybe to those that are a bit fluffy that would possibly be a weird thing.
I mean shouldn't we take those kinds of books if we actually want to learn about something?

I seem to prefer books that don't just have good reviews but bad as well now that I think about it kind of goes along with that saying how does it go "well behaved women (or books in this case) don't often make history" -unknown
so i kind of know what you mean
