"Wow, they're so soft!" Deni said, stroking Basti's right wing. She pressed her cheek against it (so very awkward while trying to walk).
"They really are!" Saori said. "If any of your feathers fall out, can I keep them?"
"No fair! I want one too!" Deni said. "Can you carry people when you fly? Could you taking me flying?

Gyp facepalmed tiredly and didn't answer. He made a tiny sighing noise as he heard Zen.
Violently bright baby blue eyes peered back at the messenger, and there was a loud crackle of shrubbery as they disappeared.

Basti somehow managed to refrain from facepalming. This would be a long walk... He couldn't stop the girls from picking up feathers if they fell, but the idea struck him as a little creepy; it was like picking up their stray hairs to him. Deciding there was no tactful answer to that question, he decided to answer Deni's about flying. "Probably, but not for very long. I'm a lot lighter than I look so that I can fly. I only weigh about a hundred thirty pounds. I could probably carry either one of you for half an hour before my wings couldn't take it any more. And flying will have to take a backseat to getting to my camp..." Basti trailed off, hoping that Cheeva was getting somewhere. He picked up his pace a bit, an easy task for legs as long as his.

Cheeva opeed her eyes. Eyes. Plural. She touched her face gingerly. Her fingers ran over the scar that stretched from her lip to her eye. Long stands of black curly hair billowed into her eyes. Long? Black?! "Where am I?" Cheeva gasped, looking down at the richly embroidered red and gold long-vest. Her stomach sank. "N-no...please...no..." She looked around. She was inside a huge cave - Jamis cave - a cavern that stretched the length of Pera-Mello. "CHEEVA!" Cheva turned slowly. As she moved she caught a glimpse of two figures, familiar figures, who shouldn't have been there. And, beyond them, his long, green-blonde hair as messy as ever, was Kered. Her lip quivered and she took a step toward him. But his green eyes were looking past her, focusing on someone else. He stepped through her inubstantial as a ghost. She shut her eyes, biting her lips. So close...yet so far. Cheeva turned to follow him, eyes tracing up as his had done. There, hovering near the ceiling was...Cheeva. She cocked her head. She hadn't seen herself as the others had. The long black arms and hooked fingers, spiky legs bursting out of the long-vest, dark wings that ran the length of her arms, flaring out at her elbows. And the huge red eyes. "Cheeva! What are you doing?" There was a bark of maniacal laughter. "Chasing rats, like any good little kitty, love." Cheeva - the real one, not the memory - stared at the fear in Kered's eyes. "They've gone too far," he whispered to himself and the blood-drained fom her face. That's how he'd ended his life, terrified of his lover. "Please, come down!" "NOT UNTIL THE b*****d IS DEAD!" her voice was gone, replaced by harsh, grating tones. The Other, as Cheeva had come to think of her. "DEAD!" The cave filled with lights and flashes. Cheeva - tumbled sideways as the ghostly world shook and thundered. Rocks, chunks of ceiling and ancient pillars, clattered to the ground. She watched, eyes blurred with tears, as Kered drew on the moisture in the air and in the rocks. As he tried to form a shield of water against the falling stone. As the shield waivered and broke with a faint, watery splash, hidden under the screaming laughter. Cheeva watched as a rock - the rock - fell in slow motion. As Kered stared up at it. As he shut his eyes. As his lips moved in two final words, "I'm...sorry." And then...the crash and the scream of anguish from above. "NO!" Cheeva fell to her knees, burying her face in her hands. Tears rolled down her cheeks as the memory around her reset.

"Ugh Thanks." Zen tried not to blush as she got off.
"Really? Why do you have such powers?" He wondered, perching on a half circular stage, in the middle of the bridge. It was a place he was comfortable sitting at, and missed having the waterfall whenever he'd typically visit. He took the time to savor his own memory, while waiting for Angela to reply.
Back in the physical reality, Zen was running after Des, who was running after Basti. The Cat was a stubborn woman, he was sure she'd be alright... but no worry in making sure everything went smoothly.

"Is your friend hurt badly?" Deni asked Basti, her face concerned. "He must be if we both had to come along.
**
Enrion knelt beside Gyp. He'd just fallen on his arse and seemed to be a bit flustered.
"Er..are you alright?" he asked him, hesitantly laying a hand on his arm. "Do you need any help?
**
In the bizarre memory world she was currently sharing with Zen, she leaned her back against the rail and watched him quietly for a moment. "You already heard right? I'm a half celestial." She went to sit beside him. "I--I don't really know what you mean when you talk about Celestials but for Des and I, we're talking about a race of very, very powerful fae. I honestly don't know much about them. I was...built. In a lab. And the man who made me didn't really know much about Celestials either. I'm not really sure why my powers are so unstable."
She gave him a weak smile. "I have theories. Of course. But I don't really know much about myself."
(In the real world, she was being being carried by a running Zen and felt thoroughly humiliated by being held this way. She was just curling herself into him trying to be a small and easy to carry as possible.) **
"Quickly now!" Des called over his shoulder to Toshi and Inutai as they followed him. "We don't have much time."

Toshi huffed but kept quiet and did as he was told. However, Inutai rushed ahead to get closer to Des and Cheeva, to make sure she was doing fine.

"I'm fine. I'll just sit here. For a while...." For a very, very, very long while, probably, he couldn't help think to himself.
"--For a while...." The figure retreated further back, ignoring the fact that the bushes rattled horribly loudly as it did so. The voice....why was that voice so oddly familiar? The jewel-bright eyes narrowed suspiciously.

Des looked over at Inutai as he started to run along beside him. "She's going to be okay," he assured the boy though he wasn't sure he believed those words. He wanted her to be okay.
So he fervently believed she would. He hoped that belief would come across and reassure the dog boy.
**
"You can't stay here," Enrion said. "The others have moved on. We have to follow." He heard the sudden, violent rustling of the bushes and drew his knife, standing. "W-who's there?"
And then he felt foolish, figuring it was probably an animal of some sort.

"Yeah, she is. Her, ah, left arm is burned off, and pretty much the left side of her body is charred." Basti for once wished that he had human eyesight, so that he needn't have seen what Cheeva looked like. No one should have to suffer like that. No matter how selfish they were. The Grey Dorks should have expected that. Basti's family had seen countless people of countless races attempt either to rip them off, or do the same to others. It was a fact of life. Everyone wants more. And that's even when saving the world wasn't involved...

"Ooooh....burns are really difficult to heal," Deni said.
"Not to mention limb restoration."
"We should go quickly. If she's hurt that badly." Both girls started walking more quickly. Deni was still cradling one of Basti's feathers against her face though, giving his wings a besotted look. Saori was just walking as close to him as possible without actually standing on him or jumping into his arms.
They lived to help the wounded but if that meant getting to fawn over a hot guy with wings in the process, then they were all for that too.

Say... that was the best idea they'd had so far. Basti picked up his pace a little more, only to find that Deni was still attached to one wing, and that he couldn't go much faster than she without the loss of a few feathers. Which would be unnecessarily painful. So he had to keep himself in step with the two small (to him, at least) girls who were threatening to knock him over. Hmm...That gave Basti an idea. No sooner had he thought it than his wings gradually disappeared and the feathers left his hair.
"I'm sorry, girls, but it'll be faster for all of us if the wings are gone for now. This way, nobody will get knocked over in the process of meeting Cheeva." Basti felt oddly light without his wings, and a bit more prone to leaning forward. Right, well, he would just have to try not to overcompensate, and keep walking. And make it to Cheeva in time...

Inutai watched Cheeva with worry. When Des tried to reassure him, he gave a sheepish smile. "I-If you say so." He tried to look strong, but that failed miserably. He wasn't used to things like this, nor did he want to be.

"We have to follow."
Gypsum sighed, about to slightly sarcastically ask if the messenger was willing to carry him piggyback, but blinked at the loud rustling.
"W-who's there?"
The eyes blinked and decided, quite frankly, the hell with it. she was no ninja anyway.
"I am," a loud, clear voice called back, and started stepping through the bushes forward again, the loud rustling sounding exceedingly loud.
Gyp paled. "No...Nonononono."
Very, very anticlimactically, a tiny girl who looked no more than 10 or so emerged from the shrubbery, and put her hands on her hips as she recognized the at least two feet taller man sprawled against the tree. Her voice was overly loud compared to her body, and her stinging sky eyes matched it, as did her strawberry blonde hair.
"Ha! I knew it was you, you litt...le....pun...what the hell? Did short stuff feed you steroids or something? I knew you had to be a druggie!" She grabbed his shoulders roughly and pulled him up into a not-quite-touching-the-ground-with-his-knees position in a single, fluid motion with very little effort so she could look closer at his face.
"Yep. It is the little punk," She said, blinking in surprise, and dropped him unceremoniously on the ground, where he slumped over slightly. After a moment of thought, she turned to the other, dumb-looking and unmoving man in the clearing. Men. She rolled her eyes and jabbed a middle finger at him.
"Oi! You there! Can't you see the little punk needs some help?"
Gyp paled further, knowing exactly what was about to happen. "Bri, don't."
"Oh, shut your whiny arse up, boy." He yelped loudly as she grabbed him and slung him over her shoulder so that he was face down and (if he weren't blind at the moment) looking at her back, effortlessly and very much like a six-foot-long potato bag.
"Just like old, times, eh?" She paused and frowned. "Well, except you're a lot fatter now. Eh."
Gyp let out a tiny sigh and decided he didn't have the energy to bother with it anymore.
||She points ot everything with he middle finger, just so you know. It's a quirk of hers, based off my dad. >.>;||
