Yamikumo acted impressed and interested, but in reality he could care less about some two-bit kid checking up on his dad's team. All that he would really want was to see if Kakashi's kid inherited Kekkei Genkai was passed down to his child, a piece of information that would be useful to one who experiments like Orochimaru. Yamikumo was tasked with preparing for every Shinobi he could face during the planned battle between Sarutobi and Orochimaru and this son of Kakashi was one of the targets he needed to watch out for. It only required four to place up the barrier and Yamikumo would be left to fight on the outside during that. Orochimaru had conduct research on Kakashi’s ‘gift’ and presumed it to be an unnatural Kekkei Genkai, something that Orochimaru was trying to figure out.

Kikyo shrugged a little.
"Sensei tends to hide stuff that a signature ninja can figure out." she said, smirking still. "Name's Kikyo." she hollered to Kovu. "The guy with pink hair is Blade." People began looking at Kikyo with angry eyes. She was starting to get on their nerves, but she shrugged them off. Unlike most people here who were newbies, Kikyo wasn't feeling threatened or scared at all.

The Flash Step was a very common Shinobi technique and it allowed one to move extremely fast, not noticeable by the human eye, but noticeable by a trained human ear. Yamikumo tracked each light movement made by the technique and could predict what a person would do with such a technique against him; the use of Chakra for that technique cut the air quite well and that was what made the technique approachable to Yamikumo to sense.

Yamikumo's clan was not well heard of, so he assumed Kovu would assume the Kekkei Genkai came naturally to its users, but in reality Yamikumo was very intensive upon his own training with it. Still, most Genin work hard despite Yamikumo's actual rankings as a Shinobi and it wouldn’t seem odd for a Genin to have talent; Konoha was up to its neck in annoying Genin talent and would it be odd if at least one non-Konoha Shinobi was talented and a Genin? Yamikumo wasn't sure entirely; Dosu managed to kill a Chunin or two on missions and for that, the world seemed unbalanced.

Yamikumo kept the secret of why he truly became blind; to avoid being a host for Orochimaru. With Yamikumo being blind, Orochimaru couldn't properly use him with his other techniques, thus rendering Yamikumo safe from that fiend's grasp. That was the reason Orochimaru was after the Sharingan; to achieve a greater Kekkei Genkai then the one Yamikumo possessed.

Kikyo let out a sigh of impatience. She was starting to get a little annoyed.
"When are these stupid exams gonna start?!" she asked. They had all been here at least half an hour, just waiting.
Blade looked at Kikyo.
"Just chill." he said, sighing a little. Kikyo was sometimes a real hard-head.
"I'm just getting a bit bored, is all. Happens all the time." Kikyo replied, smiling. the smile held a mischievous grin behind it.
