((Oh...I'm not a surface-dweller, by the way. :3 Chalthara's a drow. The soldiers aren't though. Sorry if that was confusing...?))
Chalthara's eyes narrowed at the Vhaeraunite, though not in a way that was outwardly angry. The way in which she looked at Kal'Daka was more analytical than anything else. She didn't like that patronizing tone the woman was taking, that was for sure, but she said nothing of it. If she was who she said she was, nothing could be worse than insulting her. That would bring the wrath of the city upon her for sure.
"From what my master told me, your lord was hostile towards our troops without provocation and refused them admittance. If this is not true, then perhaps we should be rethinking the situation," Chalthara said, acknowledging that her words were for all the nobles present, not solely Kal'Daka. "That, of course, is why I am here -- to decipher what is truth and what is not. There would be no gain to fighting a war, just useless loss of forces."
She made no mention of where the leadership of the army rested. It would be more amusing if the mercenary came to the conclusion herself that Chalthara was in charge.

"I don't think I could of believed it if I hadn't heard it myself, you just said something intelligent and didn't use any insults and very little profanity. Bravo." Llmryn mocked Kal in front of the girl from the opposing army, moving to stand beside Kal. "I'm afraid she is right, to move this many men without asking for clearance from the city head does cause quite a bit of trouble. Do understand, 'their' intentions are not as violent as one may think. A quick conclusion is best. Right you it would be in the best interest of you, your men, and my time if you would surrender and move from there. Your surrender is just to get things moving, failure to do so makes things from here on out much more...complicated. We wouldn't want a 'useless loss of forces' would we?"

((XD I know you're not, sorry if I wrote that confusing))
"Several thousand men show up at your city's gates, you have no idea who they are, why they're there, and they snuck in under your defenses. Is taking defensive action then hostile, or standard operating procedure?" a white eyebrow cocked, shattering her face into a half smirk. "And you're stalling against my demand. Let me rephrase things a little more clearly for you: If Izaran is here, and you're hiding him, you'll hang regardless of if he's guilty or not for defying a direct order from the city council. If Izaran isn't here and you're stalling to cover yourself, you'll have no repercussions from me at the very least. His idiocy is not your own." She shrugged, and was in the process of looking up at Val'atar for his input when that ******** waste of air sucked more in to spew out more septic waste. She didn't say anything. Oh no. That'd be both letting that drag queen win and would continue to not only discredit her, but discredit everyone here, and disrespect Val'atar. That was something she would NOT tolerate under these circumstances. Slowly, she turned her attention back to the girl in front of her. "Name and rank."
((XD look out Llymmy. You are so not walking outta this without paying for that! *snickers*))

((Mmkay. 4laugh ))
Chalthara managed a smile, though it was a dark and mocking shadow of one. "Pardon me for not introducing myself before. I am Chalthara Kenrahel, former apprentice of Lord Izaran, and current commader of this army. My master has fled for reasons unknown even to me."
Her lips curled into more of a smirk as she angled herelf to regard Llmryn. "More complicated for whom, I wonder?" she mused aloud with a laugh that was kept very much to herself. She did not outwardly show mirth very often.
Quickly, she regained her serious demeanor.
"Surrender is not something I shall remotely consider until Patron Druu'giir gives us his terms. Perhaps I may also have his assurance that were I to surrender, no harm would come to me or to the soldiers under my command?"

"Oh I like you, well said my dear, well said. I can't speak for the Patron Druu'giir myself, that you will have to take up with him." his fingers trace along the silk like skin of his cheek. "I admit it would be a complication for me if you chose to take a more troublesome rout in handling this confrontation. But still, I have just as many plans for this situation in the case of blood shed as I do in the case of a more peaceful outcome"

(sorry for my absence last night, i was getting drunk and dancing downtown... i wa sthe freaking life of the party, i swear! xd ) Valthier had been spacing out most of the time, but bits and pieces got into his brain. he was always so bored when it came to discussing rediculous war details. so this girl was abandoned by her leader and teacher, and had his problem shoved into her arms to take th blame... how cowardly.
"i say we just let them go, they can set up some kind of an outpost a designated distance and we not allow them peacefull entry into the city. plain and simple. this girl is no threat, she's a scapegoat!" val's tone was one of incredulity and disgust. he hated dishonorable dealings, with a passion. he had no reason to dislike Chalthara.
"what is your answer then, girl?" he asked lazily, not even looking at her directly.
he furthermore found that teh ward in his arms had gone completely limp. useless, he scowled silently and dropped her lifeless body to the ground, shoving it out of teh way with his foot.
(okies, getting off. i'm sure valy will get on to post a few times soon.)

-Standing some distance on a cliff in the cave, a black hooded and frail figure was watching the tense situation below and had observed enough to make his presence known.
The specter silently appeared in between Chalthara and Druu'giir less then a few yards away. He slowly turned to her, and carefully raised his left hand and pointed a bleached bony finger at her, then he raised an hourglass from his belt and shook it a little.
After staring at the Drow for a few moments he slowly turned to Val'atar and did the same. this time however he stared from under his hood at the city behind him.
Seeing as how his existence ways made clear, Myrkul vanished with is finger still pointed at Druu'giir-

Erelala had followed close behind Val'atar taking up her position on the field. Her eyes searched over everyone, assessing many details that may come in handy. The tips of her ears twitched as she listened to the dribbling on of everyone around her. "Blah blah blah blah." she thought to herself. Her luscious lips curved at the corners a smile forming as she looked upon the others beside her.
Erelala raised a brow as she watched Valthier kick the limp form of Seth away. Realizing that he now had lost two of the females closest to him.
"You seem to like everyone Llmryn" she spoke and laughed, her voice laced with an underlying musical quality. Shaking her head she let her eyes sparkle and turn back to the child like leader of this enemy army. "Now then why don't we settle this matter quickly. Though if its drug out I know I would enjoy the exercise and excitement." Erelala did not look upon Val'atar but knew and understood his composure and mind.
She blinked as the hooded figure appeared in the midst of everyone. Watching, finding him curious, as to what exactly he pointed to. An inner part of her wishing to come out.

At the appearance of the cloaked figure Reivan lowered his eyes and took a step back, putting him slightly in the shadows of the others, his grip tightening around his hidden weapons.

and valthier, with his extensive studies of the Gods, recognized teh figure and his aura. his body tensed and he shifted his footing, set his jaw, examined warily. heknew he had nothing to fear from the Death God in his undead state, but still... the presence of a god was always an unsettling one.

-He had stood there, silent and curious as to how they would all act if he ceased to be the sail for this little ship of fools. Each had spoken their turn and implied their own takes and sarcasms to their demands of the enemy, but little was decided or even offered. It seemed he would need to once more take up the slack and hurtle this into the full front as he often did. It seemed to Val'atar that was his fate in life.. to be the catalyst. He had served such a purpose many times in his past, as the lover of a powerful Matron or as a general while disguised by spells on the surface. It had always fallen to him to provide the moment of uncertainty that fueled situations of great opportunity. So once more he became what was needed, drawing up his wings to hang about his muscular form like a cloak before he speaks. his words were soft, yet they cut through the other noises like an arrow through cloth.. carrying his voice to the ears of all those nearby-
"Life or Death."
-He paused.. allowing the moment to build, he knew each had paused in their thoughts because his spell would ensure it. The effect was merely a bit of beguilement.. easily learned magic, but it was often the little things that carried the most value when you needed to make an impression. Holding up his clawed ebony hand, he lifts two fingers.. a cruel light filling his sanguine eyes as he gives his terms. As he begins to speak, the first finger curls back down-
"You can choose to surrender your army to the city and most of your lives will be spared. Your men will be confiscated and most likely divided amongst the noble houses to augment their defenses of the city. Each of your men will be searched and magicly scryed to prevent any trickery, then they will be quartered until after the council decides how best to divide them. You yourself will become my guest until I speak with Eclavice and settle what your own involvement in this duplicity was."
-His second and last finger curls back as he continues-
"Or you can all die here. While your forces are numerous, you lack one thing which I possess. You have weapons.. and perhaps even magic, but..
..you lack a Dragon."
-So said, he extends the now curled fist and opens his palm.. trembling slightly at the cost of power to complete the spell as a ribbon of pure blackness flows from his hand.. growing into a vast vortex that seems to curl over the army and then coalesce just behind them. The vast and terrible form of a Shadow dragon takes shape, its cruel and abysmally dark eyes sweep the cavern, bringing fear to any who gazed upon it. Massive it was, easily the height of the lower ramparts, yet long and curled about itself.. much like a vast shadowy serpent. it very movements caused the ground to shudder as its scales rasped over one another, its long neck carrying its great head to and fro as it contemplated whom to attack first-
"Your former lord was a fool who knew very little about the Underdark child.. and even less about me. I do not play games, nor do I suffer those who think to out maneuver me lightly.
Know this.. fight or surrender, twenty of your number will be fed to the Deep Wyrm. If you fight however.. I promise you that number will be far greater."
