Matthew took the guitar,
spraying it with more care then he did his own.
He laid it don and let it dry.
Matthew then took his and spray painted his name at the bottom in red and a few stars and broken hearts..

He laid his down then turned back towards Ken. "What would you like me to do to yours?"

Asakura took a deep, shuddering breath, blinking a few times as sparks raced over her eyelashes, the dark lashes spiked by the tears. She scrubbed at her eyes a few times, and managed a watery smile. She hugged Rin, even through her tears taking care not to squish the young girl.
"Arigatou, Rin-chan. You're right."
When she pulled away, her eyes were almost dry, and she was still smiling albeit weakly. She sniffled, and rubbed her nose.
"And you're a really good friend, a really good person."
She gulped back more potential tears, but these weren't bad tears; they were the product of the relief that flooded her inside like warm sunshine. She could live normally, despite what those scientists had installed within her.
"I sh-should probably stop crying, it can't be good for my optical systems..."
The android said softly, but more to herself, and with a smile. She paused a moment, then spoke again.
"Rin-chan... what would you say if... if I told you I could give you a new eye? I can, and if you wanted me to I could..."

Rin was happy to see Asakura feeling better, although she had to admit it was strange to see a robot cry to begin with, no matter what kind of tears. Meh, maybe she was human once, but best not to ask. It seemed that most of the people here wanted to forget about the past, and Rin was no exception to this.

"No problem; just glad I could be of assistance, as harsh as it was." she answered as the girl had pulled away from the hug; it had felt very warm, the new atmosphere and mood of the situation at hand. And she had been referred to as a friend

However, Rin was honestly caught by surprise at the robot's question. Her expression had been it's normal neutral self for a moment until the words finally sunk in on what the girl was saying to her.

"Rin-chan... what would you say if... if I told you I could give you a new eye? I can, and if you wanted me to I could..."

For many moments, Rin had no idea what to say. It sounded far too good to be true; would Asakura really want to do that for her?

Unconsiouslly and without much warning, Rin wanted to take a good look at it again; for once, she felt comfortable doing so infront of another, because Asakura was no teaser. Untying the patch around the eye, it fell into her lap. She also removed the cloth from the eye, sitting it in her lap as well. What now stood before her face as she looked into the water at her reflection, was one eye perfectly normal, another gaping hole where the eye should be, but instead there was nothing; just a socket. There was also a scar that was a bit of a diagonal line, starting from the bottom left of the bottom part of her eye, to the upper right corner on the top part of her eye. It was really more like two scars, since the eye was just socket. She blinked for a moment, watching as the covered lenses made her look normal for a moment. But really, what sat before her was some sort of freak, as she opened her eyes. How would she look, with two different eyes? She couldn't even picture what it'd be like seeing out of more than one; it's been many years since she had normal sight, so that other than one faded memory, the rest had washed away with time.

"I.............would they really let you do that? T-The staff of the place, I mean." she asked and turned to the girl, her voice sounding hopeful. She had entirely forgotten that there was the possibility of other people coming up to them, who would freak out at the sight of her. Her focus was on her friend.

Ken watched as Matt went to work on the guitar. It was obvious that he had experience with working with paint and instruments.

At the sound of the question, Ken took a moment to think. "Hm, how about red and green lightening strkes?" he asked in curiousity.

Matthew sprayyed th elighting bolt in red.
He grabbed the green and sprayed anothe rone dagonal and across.
He turned back to Ken and smiled. "Your done...I'm gonna finish mine later...I'm goign to go hand out with Asakura-Chan and Rin-Chan. You cna join me if you'd like.."

Matthew didn't wait for an answer he was already sprinting towards them silently he walked up behind Rin notcing the patch off he smiled softly."I'm glad your finally being yourself Rin...I like the socket it looks cool."

When Rin began to reach for the patch around her eye, Asakura steeled herself for what might be under it; in her years at the lab, she learned what could be done to eyes, things she or anyone else really should not learn. But when the cloth was removed, the android showed no sign of shock or disgust; just a tiny bit of curiosity and, of course, sympathy. She reached out hesitantly, fingers brushing the soft skin just beneath the eye.
"It's a very clean job..."
Asakura noted quietly, in a way that made it sound like some kind of wierd compliment.
"A transplant'd be fairly easy, there's just the worry as to whether the nerves are still there..."
The android sat back on her haunches, and nodded.
"Yeah, I already asked Crystal 'bout it last night... She said there's probably no rules against it... The actual construction might take some time, but it'll be ready within a week, I'm sure... I can make the eye look just like your normal one, it'd just be..."
She paused.
"Robotic..."
Her momentary medical reverie was somewhat shattered, however, by the arrival of Matthew, and she squinted up against the early morning sun to see his face.
"Ohayo, Matt-kun."
She greeted calmly.

Rin wasn't surprised to see Asakura tense up a bit as Rin went to take off the eyepatch, nor did it surprise her to see the robot stop flinching as the eye was seen.

She nodded at teh girl's comment; as strange as it sounded it did make sense. "Thanks, but I can assure you, it didn't always look this nice. It wasn't until we..........let's just say "met some requirements".......when the doctors were able to fix it up a bit better. It used to be all deformed and whatnot, til the operation I had fixed up the look. That was about 5 years ago, and it's why I can wear this smaller eyepatch instead of this ginormous one I used to have to wear. It was ugly, I can assure you." she chuckled.

"Really? It's not against any rules? You have no idea how much that means to me, offering something like that. I-I can't thank you enough. I'll totally make it up to you!"

Even if it never happened, just offereing something like that to Rin had completely made her day. She knew by the vibe Asakura gave that she wasn't just lying to her and leading her on. She paused in her sudden happiness, and a thought occured to her. If it was an anime, a sweatdrop here would be approiate. She rubbed the back of her head in embarassment, feeling more like herself when she talked to Asakura. After all, hadn't the use of words changed to a more natural selection of vocabulary? She couldn't remember using teh word "totally" with anyone other than Ken.

"I-I'll totally pay you back in currency course; it probably takes alot of work to make something like that, let alone insert it. I'll have to look back at those old medical papers to see what the deal was with the nerves; they would've put in an eye if there wasn't some sort of issue with them (well, that, and it's super duper expensive to have that kind of operation with a real eye). Just let me know how much that usually costs, I haven't a clue. I haven't looked up something like that in fore-"

But upon a voice suddenly speaking, she turned in horror to see that it was Matt, commenting on her eye socket. Horridly embarassed and not sure what to do at this point, she put back on the patch quickly, her fingeres fumbling clusmly as she spoke.

"W-Well, I can't leave it like that for too long; gets infected......." she said quietly, suddenly back to her normal tone, though she flashed a quick smile at Asakura, assuring her she had done nothing to switch back the mood.

"Sweet! Thanks!" Ken said, as he admired hte new paint job on the guitar. Very professional looking, and he began putting back on the strings. While it was weird to hear Matt call his sister "Rin-chan", he figured it'd be something he had to get used to. Although his sister seemed to be on-and-off mood wise with this guy.

As he followed, he stared in surprise when he noticed Rin hastily putting back on....her eyepatch?! Ken then noticed she was sitting next to the tall super-fast girl. Ok, Rin MUST know something her older brother had yet to catch with the girl. They seemed to have already turned to fast friends, for as he got closer he noticed Rin flash a split-second smile at the girl. Wow, eye + actual smile....

Not bad for Rin; perhaps this was working already. She seemed to be opening up to at least ONE person; good sign.

"Mornin' you two." Ken greeted them cheerfully as he stood next to Matt with his painted guitar.

"I think your socket looks cute" ((Child like cute..)) Matthew grinned at Asakura, "hello Asakura-Chan." Matthew sat down inbetween the two and gave Rin a one armmed hug.
"Hm..well we'll have to see if we can fix that until...well you know..."
Matthew's smile faded.
"Oh I'm glad you like it Ken...I'd be careful though....if you ever drop that the paint will creak and chip..."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 20, 2008 2:43 am

Asakura's eyes widened, and she waved her hands in front of her hurriedly; with her speed, they were barely flesh-coloured blurs.
"No, no, no, you can't- you don't have to pay me-!"
The robot shook her head, mostly dry hair flipping around her bare shoulders. Boy, it was long. Did she not cut it?
"I mean, I just need some supplies and whatnot to construct the eye in the first place, but I can't, I won't allow you to pay for it. I m-mean, you're my first friend..."
She blinked.
"'Though, admittedly some basic information about the socket and remaining nerves would be very useful so I know what I need to construct and what to avoid in the operation itself..."
Mentally, she ran over the contents of her messenger bag; she had snaffled a whole bunch of high-tech instruments from the lab before the men in black suits took her away. She knew how to use them, sure, but were they right for the job?
The contents of her messenger bag were enough to make Microsoft close down.
"Ah, ohayo Rin's nii-san."
Asakura smiled up at Ken- she didn't know his name, did she? Well, if she didn't she just made herself a complete prat. Despite herself, she blushed. Eyes glancing to Matt, she watched him give Rin a one-armed hug, and tld herself off for believing he didn't do that just to her.
Robots don't have that kind of thing.
She thought morosely.

Matthew blushed, noticing Asakura staring at him and Rin.
He leaned over and gave her a hug. ((OH WITH TWO ARMS!)) and pulled,
slowly away.
He looked up at Ken, "Sorry no hug for him..."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 20, 2008 3:48 pm

Asakura was not expecting that. To say she blushed would be an insult to the amazing shade of red that suffused her pale cheeks, spreading out like fuschia watercolour over wet paper. She was still frozen in her expression of pleasant shock, her inner mechanics remarking over the odd tingling feeling that spread out where Matt had touched her. The machines just put it down to hormones; what did they know about feelings?

The only reason Rin had kept a someshat good mood was the first response sentence from the robot, particularly the part at the end.

"No, no, no, you can't- you don't have to pay me-! I mean, I just need some supplies and whatnot to construct the eye in the first place, but I can't, I won't allow you to pay for it. I m-mean, you're my first friend..."

It gave Rin a warm bubbly feeling inside of her, and she was able to go along with Matt's antics. She didnt blush, but kept embarassed downcast eyes until he let go. As he then hugged Asakura, she realized that she seemed to have mixed feelings on it; one side was happy for her new friend, the other surprised and almost jealous. Side A won, surprisingly, and she watched with a light heart at the two.

Ken didn't say much as he just stood in the background and watched teh scene unfold. He did say a cheery "Good morning!" in a return to the greeting to the robot, but as the boy Matt began to get more touchy-feely he stayed quiet. He hugged both women, and noticed the second one seemed to blush greatly. He watched not with any anger, but curiousity.

Giving her whirling thoughts a mental shake, Asakura returned to the somewhat less pink-tinged present and to the dull feeling swelling around the vicinity of her stomach. It culminated into a throaty growl, and the robot blushed again.
"Is anyone else really hungry? I think I missed breakfast..."
The android said, rubbing the back of her head embarassedly.

"Hm, no weaven't missed it, I believe it hasn't started...
Since Crystal and Benny were talking and not instructing or gathering us..." Matthew rolled hsi eye's before laying down, his head inchs away from Ken's shoes. "Nice shoes...." He mutterd before closing his eyes.

"It should be starting riiiight about now." Ken said while looking at his watch, and sure enough, in the distance the cafeteria doors opened. "We're up fairly early compared to when we were supposed to; early risers, I suppose." he shrugged, putting the guitar away in his case.

"Thanks; they're fairly new. Got them from Billy's Shoe Store." he added to Matt.

Rin nodded in agreement with Asakura, but was surprised to hear that they were early. "Hm, I didn't realize you all were up that early; usually the first few days or so are hardest, especially for the staff, I would imagine." she said, taking a random twig on the ground and stirring a tiny circle in the lake water.

"I was suprised anyone else was up as early as I was."
Asakura remarked with a wide grin as she unfolded her long limbs and pulled herself to her full height, stretching out her arms.
"I mean, from what I gathered I though most teenagers'd prefer to wake up real late. I would if I could, too, but- ah,"
She glanced once at Ken,
"I... get woke up by the sun shining in my eyes... My window does face east..."
The android realised she was repeating herself from before, and hoped she wasn't just talking in a repeating reel or something. Hey, it happened before.
