That reminded him, he was supposed to talk to his mother about Lin's education as well. Dammit, he owuld deal with it when he got home, he could see that turning out to be a major debate. The recollection of such a task flickered in his eyes before he turned to the comment at hand.

"Is that so?" Donovan murmured, "Lin.... would be thrilled, but there's very little she's not thrilled about."

"It is," Haradhel smiled. "Half the time, in the summer at least, she comes back with wreaths or rings or necklaces or ... you name it, all made out of flowers woven together. I think she tried a blanket once, but she kept picking the stems too short so it fell apart the moment she tried to pick it up. It looked nice, though, while it was on the ground ... like a mat or something."

Ahren wandered back into the dining room just then, his arms laden with a stack of dishes. "Here, Mama," he grinned proudly. "I brought the dishes for the table for dinner!"

Haradhel smiled and took the stack from him. "Thank you," she told him warmly. "Now glasses, forks, knives, spoons, the usual."

Ahren nodded and headed back into the kitchen obediently.

Arwen dashed into the bath room and headed straight for a linen cupboard. She opened it quickly, and a look of disappointment crossed her face.

"Only the normal towels left," she frowned. "Somebody must have used the fluffy ones." She shrugged. "Ah well." And she grabbed two small towels and dashed over to the washbasins that were against one wall so that she could wash.

"Well, I don't think he mentioned it to Lin at all yet," Celebor chuckled, "so I don't think you need to worry about her bothering you about it just yet. But you're right, she is thrilled about just about anything, when it comes to her education. She loves learning, and I don't think it's just to spite Kakashi anymore."

He started back towards the house. He had always been amused by Lin's obsession with learning, training, and improving. Even he had never been as ... obsessive about anything (that he could think of).

Kara giggled as she watched Ahren head back into the kitchen, "I think Arwen would love Trisha, if she's that quite fond of flowers. Does she press flowers as well?"

She used to do that as a little girl, but she wasn't that good with it. At least not that she could remember.

Miyu followed looking up at the washbasins, after all while she was not as small as a doll, she was still as small as a very young child. Or just a young human child, which ever one would wish to look at it.

Donovan had to agree, if it was just to spite Kakashi, then she would have focused more on her physical training rather than her mental education. Which was a good thing, though it helped that she was always curious.

"I don't think she even remembers the boy most of the time. She has some other goal in mind.. when she's not asking questions."

"Trisha," Haradhel murmured thoughtfully. "I ... believe I've heard the name, but she hasn't been here before, has she?"

She looked thoughtful as she began to set the table for dinner.

Arwen glanced over at Miyu, then headed over to her washbasin and opened a cupboard beneath it, removing a stool for the girl to stand on.

"Here you go," she grinned, pouring water from a pitcher into the basin. "I used to have to stand on it all the time, and some of the kids that come here have to stand on it, too."

Then she headed over to her own basin and poured water into it, and started to wash up.

"Traveling, I believe," Celebor nodded his agreement. "Though, to find a time when she's not asking questions ... is difficult. She's always asking something or other, whether she's training, learning, or just playing. Always asking."

He shook his head slowly, but he was smiling. "One day she's going to know more than most of us," he promised.

"No," Kara replied as she got up to help, "I think she might have been mentioned a few times, but otherwise she's never visited here before. She's actually... the first Second I adopted, before I realized that the vases were something more," Kara giggled, "It's hard not to notice there is something odd about the vase once it starts spitting up feathers."

"I think I'll have to stand on it for a long while," Miyu replied as she stepped up and began to wash her hands first.

It was odd to think of this already, but he had a feeling he knew where Lin would want to stay in the future. Since so much of her interest seemed to lie here.

"When she's busy," Donovan chuckled, "Well.. no.. .even when she's busy. I guess only when she's asleep. Unless she dreams them in her sleep too."

Haradhel chuckled softly. "I heard from Ulani and Ulrich," she nodded. "Except the vase that they saw, Idhril's, was spewing out light or something instead of feathers. Do the different races' vases do different things, then?"

She had been quite amused by Ulani's retelling of that particular story. It had been quite a sight to see, apparently.

Arwen grinned. "It's okay, not everybody grows the same fast," she assured Miyu. "Besides, it's not bad to be small, sometimes it's better than being big."

Celebor laughed aloud at that comment as they approached the house. "To be fair," he grinned, "she probably does. She's quite determined, I have to say."

He took off his boots at the entrance of the house and set his bag to the side. "So everything's set for tomorrow?" he asked, hanging up his cloak and waiting for Donovan.

Kara nodded, "Yes, though I don't know what all the races tend to have come out of their vases. I know angels have feathers... I've had enough angel children stuff several pillows. Vases like Idhril's do spew out light... and mers have bubbles coming out of their vases. Which leaves about two other races, and I'm not sure."

"I don't know... I wouldn't want to be small as I was before, everyone was very scary back then," Miyu replied.

Donovan paused for a moment to think about it before nodded, "Yes, Kara said everything is packed, and really this will be about the average amount of children that we'll bring back."

"What other races are there?" Haradhel asked curiously as she set the plates in their places. "Angel, human, mer, elf ..."

Ahren reappeared with the other dishes, and Haradhel took them and started to set them around the table as well.

Arwen nodded. "I remember when I was little, too," she agreed, "everything seemed so big. The world is a scary place sometimes, when you're that small."

She shook her hands off and grabbed one of the towels, and started to dry her hands. "But now that I'm big, there's still a lot of things that are scary."

Celebor nodded. "I see," he murmured, heading into the kitchen.

"Hello again, Grandma, Aunt Haradhel," he nodded to the women. "I hope you had a good afternoon."

And he took a seat across the table from them.
