As Demyx transformed, Cora eyes went back to their normal soft white glow. When she looked down at Demyx, she was astonished to see that he had also inherited some Valcori traits. His eyes glowed right back at her, and one of the locks of hair that fell into his face was snow white with a reddish sheen.
As the change was complete, Cora felt an overwhelming attraction to Demyx, but she pushed that aside. "You will soon get used to the change."
She walked to him and the window, and as he spoke and gestured towards the outside, she only gave him advice.
"We must hurry and find Rose first, to try and see if she's with Alice." She leapt lightly up onto the ledge and perched on it with her vampiric grace. "When it comes to traveling with the speed and precision me and Syvra do, all I say is trust ur instincts. If the change is too startling, close your eyes and tune into my movements with your senses and our connection if you have too."
She leaped into the air, and as she fell past the balcony like a whistling needle, she uttered one last word of advice.
"And whatever you do, don't let one drop of blood touch your lips."

Demyx hesitated on the windowsill. He remembered the countless times he had descended slowly, trying to get an escape from his work. Now was different. Now, as he leapt he could watch the ground rush up to meet him, and feel the wind rush past as his feet hit the ground running. They were at the forest’s edge in no time. Tangles of vines and branches tried to barricade them out, but they were no match for the two vampires as they tore through the area, lithe as the wind itself. In the end, though, as the trees became thicker, Demyx resorted to Cora’s advice, more confident in their bond then in his own eyes. But then a strange sent caught him, and suddenly he veered to the left, his eyes open and blazing. Behind him, Demyx could sense Cora following in his wake. Everything happened very quickly. He dove into a clearing, right at the source of the smell. The worst hunger he had ever felt had taken him here, and now it was pulling him for the object in his arms. Almost too late, he realized that he touched warm flesh, and that it was Rose in his arms. He was kneeling down, hunched over her quivering body. Her eyes were wide and filled with terror.
“Demyx, what has happened to you?” She asked, and her voice scared him. It was raspy, like she had been choking.
“There is no time to explain,” He said gently, but in his voice there was something feral. Inside, he was fighting the hunger. He glanced longingly at Rose’s neck, only to find two fresh puncture wounds already there. He gasped, running his hand across the wound.
“Did I do this to you?” He asked quickly, suddenly unsure of himself.
“No,” Rose whispered. “It was…” She coughed harshly, convulsing as her lungs struggled to right themselves. When she opened her eyes, there was a figure standing just behind Demyx, at his shoulder and peering down. She lifted up her hand, pointing shakily at the vampire.
“Her! Demyx, it was her! Kill her now!” When Demyx looked at her in confusion and did not move, she scrambled for her silver dagger in her boot and leapt from his grasp, barreling with all of her might at Cora. Demyx lashed out with his newfound speed, catching her by the waist and pulling her back. Rose struggled against him, giving up only a moment later to breath heavily in his arms.
“So you have betrayed us too?” She said in dully, her eyes distant. “Just as Jack did?” She tossed the silver dagger weakly at Cora’s feet, obviously giving up all hope.

Cora felt his exhiliration and shared in it, reveling in the power of night despite the sunlight. But she smelled blood, and she knew the scent of the person lingering in it. Demyx changed direction fast as the wind and she did so at the same time to follow him.
She appeared over Demyx's shoulder, glad to see that Demyx had taken none of the forbidden red nectar still dripping from Rose's throat. When she heard Demyx's question, she froze, but she could sense in their connection no solidifying of the bond, no signs that meant he was a vampire forever.
Cora breathed easily when Rose said he hadn't, but her breath caught when Rose accused her of the act. Demyx and Cora's eyes met, instant understanding passing between them. Syvra's work, they said in unison within their minds. Cora was slightly shocked as Rose pulled a hidden dagger from her boot and ran at her, but she stood her ground. She knew that a silver dagger could not harm her. Other things could.
She bent down and picked it up, but at the mention of Jack, she looked at Demyx. Jack, your cousin? She instantly knew she was right. She decided to tell Demyx in her mind something she had forgotten to mention. By the way, as a vampire, you are now more attuned to my mind as you are now the same species. Our thoughts are synchronized, so we will know each other's thoughts in an instant. Also, don't forget you can control your power, but be careful.
Cora frowned and walked over to Rose, handing her back the dagger. She tried to appear as harmless, warm (despite being a vampire), and unlike her sister as possible. "Do you know I have a twin sister Rose?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 7:58 pm

Rose shied away from the vampire.
“Your lying!” She said in an accusing whisper, but Demyx shook his head.
“No Rose, trust her. Syvra did this to you. Who you see now is Cora,” He said, but there was little emotion in his voice. Rose blinked and focused on Cora’s face. The only thing that made Rose believe was the girl’s eyes; they seemed so much softer then the ones that had stared with bloodlust into her own not so long ago. She nodded very slowly, reached her hand out to pluck the dagger from Cora’s grasp and slip it back into her boot.
Demyx was only half paying attention to what was going on . His eyes were focused on the forest floor, and he was still shaking his head.
“No, it wasn’t Jack. You must be mistaken Rose,” He said, his eyes darting up to hers.
“Listen Demyx, I know this is hard, but….but Jack tried to kill me. He wanted to drown me to force Alice into helping him. Its his disease, Demyx. He wants healing. And…he wants to kill you, too.”
“NO!” Demyx roared, and fire snaked up his arms suddenly. “Jack would never! He is like a brother to me!” But Cora’s thoughts were pounding at his mind, forcing him to believe the truth. Rose was speaking, too, but he couldn’t hear her. The fire ebbed away, leaving no trace that it had ever been there.
“Maybe….maybe there is just something wrong with Jack. We can help him. We can…make him better….and…” He trailed off, turning his back on the group. There was a long moment of silence, and when he turned around, his face was hard and cold, like Demyx held no emotion. Cora could feel his strongest emotions and read his thoughts, though, and Rose could only imagine what he was feeling.
“It is my duty to make sure any threats to the clan are dealt with. All traitors…,” His strong voice almost failed him, but he went on. “Are to be exterminated.”
Demyx pushed past the two girls, heading toward the edge of the clearing. He turned to face them, but he could not meet their eyes.
“Rose, I suggest you stay here where it is safest. Hide, but do not follow us or go back to the school for a while.” He hesitated for a moment, debating something in his mind, before taking a few steps forward to embrace her. “Rose….,” He pulled back, holding her at arms length. “No matter what else happens, Jack is to die. If we fail to kill him, you must find someone else to do it. But don’t try to do it yourself. I really need you to stay safe. Because if I die tonight, "He looked hard into her eyes, "...then you are to take my place as the Liceryth clan’s leader. Ill trust only my best friend to the job.” He kissed Rose’s forehead as tears formed at the corners of her eyes. She was shaking her head.
“That’s a nice thing to say, Demyx, but your breath is wasted. Go save Alice, but come back later to say good morning! Ill have mango tea in the kettle and ramen in the microwave, just like you like it.”
Demyx laughed, giving her another kiss on the forehead and a drawn-out hug before retreating once again to the shadow’s edge, beckoning Cora to show him the way to Alice.

Syvra unceremoniously dumped her charge onto the couch before flopping onto a nearby chair. She'd already taken Alice's pills and hidden them, but she doubted that would last long. As she sighed, her fangs retracted to their normal length, and she smiled, finally able to close her mouth all the way. She looked over at Alice, and she still noticed she was bleeding.
"Oh yeah! Lemme get some bandages," Syvra said, her enthusiasm enough to throw off the suspicous spirit elemental. As she went over to a nearby cupboard to get a first aid kit, she thought to Alice, So, I bet you're wondering why I haven't drained you dry and or killed you or handed you over to Jack.
She came back over with the kit and kneeled down in front of Alice, ignoring her slight recoil. "It's because I have no love for that madman."

((Will post Cora's part later!))

"Lair." Alice spat out.
"I will not fall for your tricks...." But Alice's words were interrupted by a familiar presence in the back of her mind. Alice remembered this feeling instantly.Cora....hurry.. Was all She was able to say, not wanting to waste anymore precious energy. "I will never trust you..."

Syvra caught the spit in a vial she had concealed and after she was done bandaging Alice's neck wound, she secreted it in a hidden cupboard. "Go ahead and keep calling Cora here. I need to talk to her anyway."
She could almost feel the shocked expression on Alice's face and she smirked. "Do you honestly not think I don't keep track of my own twin sister. I suppose you don't know that she's also traveling with someone?"

--------------------------------------------------------------

Cora withdrew from Demyx and Rose, leaving them a little peace. When Demyx waved good bye to Rose, her heart almost broke for Rose, but she hid that from Demyx's thoughts.
"You need to follow me EXACTLY and land on EVERY tree I land on and touch nothing else! If we are to do this right, you need to follow the pattern. That's the rule here, follow the pattern."
As she leapt up into the trees, starting on the one that Syvra had stood on only minutes before, she continued the story in silence and thought.
Some of these trees did not grow on their own. You know how the trees surround the school? Well, it so happens that centuries ago, before the wars but when suspicion started to rise between the different species, the Valcori created themselves a safety net at the school.
They uprooted different trees, seemingly at random, and planted some of their own that had been watered with lamb's blood since they had been a seed. They are indistinguishable to all but the Valcori clan, because the glow of our eyes finds the glow of our marks.

Every tree she landed on seemed to glow white slightly, and she wouldn't doubt it if Demyx could see the glow as well. She continued. It was a place where the Valcori offspring could hide in case of emergency. Eventually, the location and the secret was forgotten, at least, until me and Syvra discovered it in ancient texts. We memorized the pattern of jumps and we begged our convent to come here. My clan was reluctant to relinquish me and Syvra, there first and second best fighters, but seeing as how they dominated at the moment, they figured they could call us back at the drop of a hat.
Needless to say, we've been in hiding all this time. We're slightly wanted, if you get my meaning. But when they come here, they never find us. Syvra has taken Alice to the Solace, as it is called, and the Solace is where we go now. Follow the pattern. Always follow the pattern.

She paused on a branch, turning as Demyx landed next to her and she said one thing before continuing on.
"There will be blood, so control yourself."

Demyx did his best to keep his own mind silent while he listened to Cora’s. It amazed him that there had been a hiding place for vampires out here all along, and despite his frequent visits to the forest, he had never caught even a glimpse of anything resembling a home. He had been following directly behind her, careful not to misstep, when suddenly they halted. He perched himself next to her on the branch, silently marveling at his new balance and grace. During this slight pause, he couldn’t keep his mind from straying only for a moment to Alice and Rose, and even to Jack. It hurt him deeply that things had to turn out this way. There were enough tragedies without kin turning on each other. And that’s when he realized that Cora would have to hurt her own sister. Maybe even kill her. She was making the same sacrifices that he was. Somehow, that gave him strength. They were together, at least.
“There will be blood, so control yourself."
Cora’s words pulled him from his thoughts. He nodded slowly. She looked like she was about to bound off, but he reached out his hand quickly to take her own. She turned to face him, and he pulled her into his arms, putting as much passion as he could into a very short kiss. Demyx stared into her eyes, feeling that he must say something about how he felt, but he remembered that Cora could read his thoughts and knew just what he wanted to say. The right side of his mouth twitched up into a smile, showing a gleaming fang. He dropped one of her hands and tilted his head to the side, signaling her to lead the rest of the way.

Alice should have known. But never the less she hadn't seen that one coming.
She sighed, feeling her energy slowly return. Absorbing that small amount of Syvra's soul had sustained her. The spirit inside her consumed it, making her energy flow easier, thus her energy would return faster than usual. Alcie knew Demyx would be traveling along. And idea struck her.
"Who is traveling with her?" Alice asked, staring Syvra down. Her eyes boring into hers.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 10, 2008 9:29 am

At Alice's question, Syvra closed her eyes contacted Cora. Cora dear, hurry. If she gets much stronger, she'll try to escape, and I'll have to use force.
Opening her eyes again and smiling at Alice, she walked back over and resumed her laid back position. "You'd know them, Alice dear, but I don't think you'd really recognize them." Syvra's grin turned wicked, her eyes crinkling with mean laughter. "I suspect you'll be quite surprised, even scared."

-------------------------------------------------------

Cora felt Demyx's heart aching with pain and betrayal, and she tried her best to sooth it. What she didn't expect was the determined glint that came into Demyx's eyes and the passionate kiss that she received and returned. She read his mind, felt his feelings, and they were almost one. But unless he tasted blood while turned, they could not be complete. She saw him smile, saw the fang glint in the light. Cora was unexpectedly turned on by this, and she blushed, turning away as if continuing on so he couldn't see it.
Cora received Syvra's contact and sent a thought back. The pattern is almost complete, we will arrive soon. She glanced back and wondered if they bond that she and Demyx had also allowed him to hear the contact between the twins. She wondered if he could also see the faint golden, glowing line that started at Cora's heart and led to Syvra's heart, their connection. Sometimes a Valcori would catch a glimpse of it when their eyes slid out of focus, but for a transformed Valcori? She did not know. All she could do was wonder and question.
She kept leaping to the white glowing trees, and as she saw the last one come into view, she whispered into the wind, "The last comes up. On the last branch, you need to bend your legs and jump for all you're worth into the center of the clearing ahead. Use your senses and your partial Valcori blood to detect the center. The white lamb trees will open a sort of black portal into the hiding place, making us and it invisible to all looking. Don't panic when we enter the clearing and don't do anything you will regret when you encounter the smell inside."
With that, the last branch had arrived, and she bent her legs and propelled herself high into the air, letting the wind whistle and sing in her ears, the song of speed. Already, she could sense the portal widening, and opening it, it looked like a black hole opened up on the roof of the school.

Alice stood, and looked around. "Fear is something of the past at this point." Alice replied. Her voice distant and vacant of any emotion. Her words rang true. She was no longer afraid. All her life she had been in fear of someone using her powers....like Demytrix tried....and like Jack tried. All her life she knew she could never fully trust a person, yet she did anyways. And all it ever did was lead to pain. Who was she kidding? She could never have a normal life...
Tears stung Alice's eyes but didn't dare spill. This was the end for her. She knew this day would come eventually. But she had hoped the ending would be less tragic.
But now it was going to end...no one will ever use her again. Not Jack, not Syvra, no one. All the pain, the hiding, the lies were going to end!
The end of people putting their lives on the line for her.
She sighed.
Her hand instinctively going to the bandage on her neck. Alice's fingers slid between the bandage and the wound; with one swift movement she tore the bandage off.
She felt the air rushing to the open wound. She always hated bandages.
Her energy still wasn't restored completely. But it didn't have to be....not anymore.

It the back of his mind, Demyx heard a girl’s voice. He strained to hear it, but it escaped him, and he was left wondering whose it was. He finally settled on the fact that it was just some of Cora’s stray thoughts. He didn’t have much time to think on it further, because the yawning black portal was getting closer by the second. He braced himself for the leap, throwing all of his body at the tree and using the momentum to carry him toward its center. As he looked up at Cora, he thought he saw the shimmering of a line of gold, but before he could even form a question about it in his mind, he was plunged into the darkness of the portal, ready to face whatever was on the other side.

Syvra's eyes narrowed and she sat up, intending to put a new bandage on. Before she could however, she heard what seemed like a thundercrack and Cora's familiar voice shouting, almost screaming, "Syvra! Cover Alice's wound! Hurry!" Syvra leaped to do the urgent task, clamping a hand over the naked wound. She held Alice back as two people came into view, wrestling for control. It was Cora and Demyx, and Demyx looked half Valcori but in bloodlust, his eyes glowing red and his fangs extended and snarling with almost as much feral ferocity as Cora and Syvra could.

----------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as Cora landed in the yawning blackness, the scent of blood filled her nostrils and soon after as Demyx followed, she heard a feral growl rip from his throat. She turned just in the nick of time to throw her arms out to block him, the collision of their bodies resulting in a sound the size of a thunderclap. "Syvra! Cover Alice's wound! Hurry!"
Demyx's eyes glowed red, his fangs extended, snarling like an animal, filled with the legendary bloodlust. She did her best, wrestling him and always staying in front of him, hampering his efforts, shouting at him in his mind doing her best to fight to the logical sane Demyx on the inside of the bloodthirsty being she was trying to prevent from tasting his first blood.
She eventually wrested him to the ground, pouncing on top of him and invoking some of her own vampiric strength, straddling his stomach and holding his wrists down. He struggled like a madbeast, craning his neck towards the blood. Cora, like Syvra, could almost feel the shock crossing Alice's face, and fear.
PostPosted: Thu Jan 10, 2008 6:45 pm

Alice stared at Demyx struggling on the floor. Fear flooded her. She felt Syvra's hand on her wound, trying to keep the scent from Demyx. But both her and Syvra knew the efforts were in vain. Demyx's sense of scent was far too sensitive. Her heart picked up spead at an idea. This could be her chance....
She tore Syvra's hand from her wound launching herself at Demyx.
"Kill me Demyx! Take my blood!!! Please!"
Her voice cracked despite her attempt to sound strong. Tears streamed down her pale cheeks.
"Take my blood!!" She yelled again. She was slowly loosing control over her emotions.
She needed this to end fast before she had second thoughts.
Using her telekinesis she opened the wound further, the blood spilling in little rivers down her neck and shoulders, staining her shirt.

"Foolish girl!" shouted both Cora and Syvra in unison, both sounding terribly angry.
"Would you have Demyx live foreve as a monster for your own selfish ends?!" Cora cried, her voice piercing Alice like a spear. "You are no better than Jack!" But Demyx tried to use me as well, she thought, and she faltered at this and nearly lost her grip on Demyx.
"Syvra!" Cora pleaded.
"Already on it," Syvra said almost immediately afterward from directly behind Alice, and as Alice turned a wild eye to look at her, Syvra backhanded her with a fist directly in the temple, knocking her out.
"Stupid girl," Syvra muttered, hauling her to a seperate chamber and locking her in, knowing that it wouldn't hold her for long if she came to. They had to calm Demyx and get him used to the scent of blood soon or he would be unstoppable. Either that, or find a loophole in the blood rule.
