"Are you here to banter Philosophy, or confront your fears?" The man asked her, his orange blade snapping to life in his hands as he sid into a stance.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 12:52 pm

He didnt like it.
The room was too open, only two doors and little cover lining it's circular walls.
Its purpose he could only guess at, but given the lack of sanity in the Sith forces, Pash could never be truly certain of the room's function.
His target lay on the other side of this room. He could not bypass the room. Regardless of his suspicions, he had to pass through it.

Pistol drawn, the jedi shadow darted into the room, making a beeline for the door on the opposite side.

Before he got there, the door slammed shut before him, a sudden echo telling him the one behind him had sealed shut as well.

Instantly Pash checked to secure his face mask against poison gas. and he spun to sweep the area behind him with his pistol barrel.
He heard dark laughter and resisted the urge to groan.
Before the attacker even emerged Pash knew what he was dealing with and was cursing his luck.

"So this is the little worm who has been causing us so much trouble." A disembodied voice echoed. "You've walked right into my trap."

A man manifested in a puff of smoke, clad in black armor that maximized flexibility and stealth while presenting an intimidating sight to the few who could see him: A Master Sith Assassin.

"I am Lord Darog, Master of this Academy." The man said in a grandoise manner. "And you will never leave here alive, bold fool."

Pash had seen this kind before. No matter where you went, there was always a Sith somewhere who was obscessed with the dramatic. They were more annoying than a sack of gungans. In about a few seconds the fellow would start monalogueing describing how incredible and impresive he was, give a few patronizing compliments on Pash's skill, perhaps divulge some secret agenda, and invite Pash to join the Sith.

"Your skills are admirable." The man began. "But compared to those of the Dark Lord of Stealth, they are insignifigant."

And there it is.
Before the man could continue Pash opened fire, managing a triple tap before Darog could start his next sentance. His opponent scrabled for his lightsaber with a curse and Pash snatched a smoke grenade off his belt in his opponent's distraction. He activated it and dropped it to the floor.

Instantly thick blue smoke shot from the grenade, blanketing the room in an azure smog cloud. Pash could hear the Sith lord curse again as the Jedi made use of the cover and let the smoke envelop him. The Smoke was tinged with a gasous chemical compund that fouled with infrared sensors, rendering heat sensing visual equipment useless. It rendered the two of them blind, setting them on equal footing as long as the smoke lasted.

Now it was time to see if Darog had earned his title.

“With-out questions one can’t turn ignorance into knowlage.” She replied twirling her saber as she closed the gap between them. Remembering Lord Xrandla’s stance and attack from early Aurora mimicked them, swinging her blade in a horizontal ark at his neck. Attacking an opponent was something she was not used to doing, and it showed in her stance being off just a bit and her swing was lacking the grace and fluidity of his own movements, but not by much.
PostPosted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 3:21 pm

Xrandla slapped her attack aside easily with his own saber and fluidly brought it down upon her shoulder, the training saber sending a stunning jolt into her upon impact.
"If simple mimicry was all that was needed to master swordsmanship, we would all be soulless masters, not understanding why it works but doing it unquestioningly. Its not enough to imitate a move. You have to understand the when, how, and why. Now try to hit me again. And this time apply your wits to something other than your mouth."

Aurora clenched her teeth at the jolt of energy made every nerve ending in her shoulder come alive. She danced back a few steps from him to regain her footing and set up for her next attack on him.

“Do I talk to much Lord Xrandla?” She asked as she brought her blade up and made a faint swing at him, before flicking her wrist and making the saber curve over in a short ark at his exposed side.

He easily slapped it away again and landed another blow on her shoulder.
"You speak as though you believe that you know something. You are here to learn from me. Not I from you."
He repositioned himself and gripped his saber in one hand, letting his arms hang at his side. "Speaking of learning: Fancy maneuvers are meaningless when you havent mastered the basics. Now again."

Aurora stood where she was, not wanting to be backed into the door she had entered thru. Rubbing the feeling back into her shoulder from the stunning effects of training blade, she kept her mouth shut as she listened to Lord Xrandla. Nodding her head she complied bringing the hilt of the training saber above her head, blade pointed up at an angle behind her as she slid into a familiar stance with graceful ease.
Her breathing slowed to a more even pace and the world out-side the room faded away, leaving only her opponent and herself. She attacked him, aiming for the body zone that was his weapon arm and side. Determination drove her on as she did not want to feel the shock from his saber again, she would not flinch at his aura and she would not be driven back, she would over come and defeat her fear.

Stryder listened to the report on the Bathurst and its accompanying force with a calm expression, taking in the casualties that his deception had gotten him.
"And the Destroyers?" He asked.
"Mild damage, Sir." the Tactical officer informed him. "They blunted efforts of pursuit and jumped shortly after the Bathurst."
"I see. Have them go back on patrol. Have the damaged ships drydocked for repair and the lost fighters replaced. I want the squadrons back up to full strength as soon as possible."
"Sir." The Tactical officer went to relay Stryder's orders and the Jedi meditated on the battle to come.
The Sith had taken the bait alright. They would strike soon. It was just a matter of being ready for when they showed up....

Xrandla avoided the temptation to smirk. She was finally getting serious.
His blade snapped up, parried the blow and forced it away.
"Good. Now I know where to begin with you. Turn off your saber and return it to the charging rack on the wall. We are done here today."

“Yes Lord Xrandla.” Aurora said as she shut down the training saber and bowed to him. Her light blue eyes ran over the room to stop as she spied the charging rack on the wall as indicated. Making her way towards it, she glanced at all of the lethal looking weapons that hung along his training rooms cold stone walls.
After securing the hilt into its charging port, she walked back to the door and gathered up her boots, for she would not put them back on until she had left his training hall. She turned to face Lord Xrandla once more.
“Thank you for the instruction session Lord Xrandla.” She said to him and bow again before opening the blast doors to leave.

Blaster fire was heard all around, drowning out the sound of charging men through the entry hall of the base. A loud explosion echoed down the hall when someone tripped a hastily prepared booby trap, taking out a few on both sides.

It was only a matter of time before they would eventually breach Crazy Train's office. He knew his men couldn't hold out forever. Getting up from behind his desk, he went through a door leading deeper into the base and made his way into a small hangar. He ordered the few men inside it to get what they could onboard his ship.

He couldn't leave yet. If he opened the secret hangar door that would reveal the ground above to be another way into the base, his men would know he felt the situation was hopeless and follow him in an escape, leading the police forces right to the few safe houses he had.

The cyber-lord of the sith paced furiously around his room, noticing the knock upon the door as a student stared at him with a sensual desire.

"I humbly beg your attention," Sonya began, biting back every word she said. "I wish to make a proposition you may find interesting."

"State your name!" Cyneticus demanded.

"Sonya Kai'ser, but I prefer to be called Lady Maliss."

"You're the student of Loki, no? What buisness do you have with someone such as myself?"

"My master told me you wanted to destroy the Lord Nakara, but he feels it nothing more than a suicide mission. If you will hear me out, I believe I can succeed where my master failed. I need to ask several things of you, sir, before I do go."

Sonya had slowly made advances towards the cyborg in front of her, as he pondered her words. "You are intriguing me, Sonya. Tell me of the guile you will use, but bore me or infuriate me, and I'll have your head!"

"Understood," Sonya said with a curtsey. "I will apologize first of all, by saying that it is common saying around the academy that Nakara is the better technologist. Pardon me for asking, but why is that rumor being spread when you, a man who is half machine, clearly live with the metal and know it better?"

"Nakara stole half my brain, an adaptive AI adjunct, the clown. With that, he stole my designs and beat me to the punch. Without my adjunct, he'd be nowhere."

"Ah. Then I can promise the destruction of Nakara and the retrieval of your brain, mi'lord," Sonya replied, slowly working her way around the cyborg. He was disgusting, but she'd try her femininity on him anyway. "I will go become the greatest apprentice of the baffoon. I will update you on all of his movements, and sabotage him to a point where you can strike him down with all your hatred. He, like all sith, has a weakness which I feel I can exploit," she said, rubbing her finger along the cyborg's chest.

"Sex won't work on me, Lady Maliss. That part of my body is robotic. However, Nakara is nothing but flesh, one which is constantly changing size and shape. Your ability to manipulate wills won't escape me, but Nakara does not have that immunity either. But what do you want in return?"

"I want what every sith wants. Power, respect, you name it. I will learn some from Nakara, but I want you to use your machines to make me even better. I will lead your armies as their general, a mixture of oil and blood which will make me stronger than any jedi and most sith. I want the power, and I'm not afraid to do it. I want the respect that is due for taking down that shapeshifter, to serve as your hand, absorbing everything into me for you to use. But first, I need you to transfer to me to the Nal Hutta academy to start my search."

"You will probably die, but at least you will do something to divert his attention. But how to secure your loyalty?" the cyborg asked.

"You don't have one. But no gamble comes without risk," Sonya replied. "Everyone doesn't believe I have a chance, so what good does it do to make me pledge loyalty if I'm going to die."

"A logical premise. I am not without my doubts, but we'll put you to the test," Cyberneticus agreed. "The shuttle will be waiting for you."

"Thank you," Sonya muttered, backing out of the room, impatient to leave as soon as she could.

The rocks shuddered as geological depth-charges crashed into it, launched from portable mini-cannons the support troops had brought on their bikes.
Inside, smoke billowed and lasers knifed through the haze followed by helmeted and armored cops. Streams of data and radio chatter flashed back and forth:
"Fourth hall, Clear!"
"Room six, barricade! Lock it down, Lock it-!"
"Inco--aaaghHH--"
"Delta group,Status!"
"advance, advance-!!"
"-Try to take some alive, those two may want it-"
"Confirmed, will try; siren may want that....hey, sigma group-!"
"-closing on targets-"
"Backup, Backup!"
"Pull out, that hall's trapped!"
"State you loca-AAHH!"
"2749...! 2749!! Come in, Come IN-"
"Man down-"
"Prisoners, second deck-"
"Form Up! Take the first floor!"
................
Door shattered under blaster fire, disks where seized, and a few droids got shattered, including a protocol model that didn't know when to shut up: troops get twitchy with droids babbling in the the middle of a battle....
Within minutes, the first level was swarming with cops, the armory was seized, and bodies lay strewn about where they fell, along with a few uncooperative prisoners. The invasion was thus far working as siren desired; the hideout was falling....

The Mandalore's Fist landed on Obroa-skai. His hunt was hiding in an abandoned home. A loud sound caught his attention. It was the hunt. "Brai" he thought. Slowly, he crept behind the man who was looking around for Deakin. "Reach for the sky," he ordered. Brai seemed to try and bribe him. Deakin followed along shaking his head yes. "You can't bribe me" he said slowly. He screamed as Deakin hit him in the back of the head with the rifle stock. "N'jurkad" he muttered. Quickly he threw the body in, and closed the door. Throwing him in the prison cell, he went to the cockpit to plot course for Nal Hutta. He took off his helmet and drifted asleep.

A few hours later, the ship landed. He went straight to the hutts. Deakin dragged his prisoner to one of the Hutt's. He was shouting and resisting. It was a 10,000 credit bounty. His rifle stock was retracted, and raised in one arm.

"Captured alive," he said bowing "like you asked." The prisoner decided not to bow. "Wrong move" he said kicking his knees down. Soon enough, his payment would be given, but for now, he sat down and had a drink.
