Layna blinked down at the form who approached the fountain and then changed from a wolfish form into a human. The human was horribly familiar and it sent her body into a shaking fit. That silver white hair... that tall form and strong muscles that rippled into the light. Who was it?
Then a thought flowed through her. Ceon? No, it couldn't be...
She slowly pulled herself along the branch until she was closer to the fountain, and stared down at the figure with an unmoving gaze. Breathing in, she took in the scent of the person and tried to match it to the one she remembered from long ago.
But this scent was full of dirt and grime, and unbearably masked in the smell of alcohol. She couldn't be completely sure. She remembered Ceon's scent being one of earth and strangely cinnamon-like to her senses. This was not the smell. Perhaps the strike of white hair threw her off.

As the leaves rustled from above him in what was the dead silent park, Ceon stood up abruptly and whipped out his pistol, his arms trembling slightly as he scanned the trees. "Who's there!? Show yourself!" Sharpened fangs molded over the ivory bricks that were Ceon's teeth and his tail sprouted out through a hole in his pants. Stealth was something he never took to well, ever since he was shot by a sniper in the city all those years ago. His gun was loaded with UV bullets, just in case something followed him back from the bar.

The feather ornaments in Layna's hair jingled and waved softly against her cheek as she watched the figure become hostile at the sound of the branches shaking. Either he was really on edge, or drunk. and by the smell that cloyed upon his body the latter seemed more likely. She felt her body crackle with energy as her teeth lengthened to sharp points and sleek black fur sprouted upon her body. Her body grew in height and weight, until finally the branch she sat upon broke beneath her. As it broke, she leapt forward at the figure and grabbed the gun that was held in his still-human hand. she did not take, instead, she just gripped the barrel. Her other lycanthropic hand gripped the man's shoulder tightly as she stared at him with gleaming silver eyes.
A growl echoed from the depth of her stomach, her lips pulling back to reveal her long teeth. Feathers still managed to stay attached to her fur as she shifted, and they jingled softly, waving in the wind that had been caused from her falling.

It wasn't until Layna had Ceon's shoulder and gun in her grip that he recognized the smell. She was so close, and the scent was so strong. It permeated his senses and froze him up in an astonished stupor. His lip quivered, and his whole body did soon after as he released his grip from the gun. Those silver eyes petrified him as he mumbled, "L....Layna...."
His eyes were wide, and his pupils were as round as the moon, but Layna's glistening eyes shimmered with that animosity that all lycans have.

Layna's Lycan ears twitched and she stared at the figure whom knew her name, yet the look of terror on his face confused her. He was a Lycan as well, so why would he be afraid of her. Why is it you know my name? Who are you to know my name? She called, touching out with her mind toward Ceon's to speak while in her Lycan form. You are unfamiliar to me, and I dislike this. She growled, her lips quivering.
She released him and backed up a few steps, her silver eyes watching him with in intensity. The last three years had lead her to go back to the roots of the Lycan society, and living with her family pack had definitely helped with this. She had learned to protect herself as well as control her lycanthropic side, though the old ones had shunned her for the creature she had birthed there, Mariaka. So even when she had returned with her children there once more, they had shunned her, but took great pride in her son, which she loved. Gabriel had known a steadfast world, and being six now, he was a strong, healthy boy. Mariaka had become her mother's pride, even with her strange demeanor and quirks.
As she stared at the man, whom she knew naught who he be, she wondered why it could be she frightened him.

A single tear, a tear of pure joy leaked from Ceon's left eye as he stood there, awestruck. He reached a hand out and stroked her dark fur, savoring each strand of hair. After all these years...you're finally back...Layna...it's me....Ceon.
The lycan features that stood prominent on Ceon's body faded away, leaving a vulnerable human shell. He thought she was gone for good, and he could blame nothing but his own actions for losing his family.

Layna stepped back as she felt his fingers run through her fur, her silver Lycan eyes shocked, and she let out a snarl that echoed through the tree. This was Ceon? what had happened to him? He was a despicable mess. He smelled like a bar, and vampires. She snorted and swatted at him with her paw, pushing him to the ground. You stink. The voice that spoke in Ceon's mind was sardonic.
She snapped at his face, teeth bared to the fullest. You smell like a** and liquor. She snorted again, silver eyes metallic. And women. Seems you've moved on, eh? Layna let out a coughing laugh and stood on her legs, her arms stretching in languid delight at the feel of muscles uncramping.
She then turned her eyes back to the downed Ceon, her tail flicking as she watched him.

Slowly but surely, Ceon turned into his lycan form, towering above Layna and almost touching the branches. His eyes did not change though. No, these eyes were a melting pot of every thing he could feel at the moment. He moved his snout close to hers, enjoying her scent, even though she was hostile. I've been drinking, but I can't get drunk like I used to. I haven't touched anyone in a long....long time. Ceon flicked out his lycan tongue and licked Layna's muzzle like a dog. Where are the kids?

Layna snapped at the licking muzzle and backed up again until she felt the bark of a tree against her back, her eyes peering up at the looming figure. She had not seen Ceon in a very long time, so now seeing him left a bit of a sour taste in her mouth. But she could not bring herself to utterly hate him.
She flicked her ears and let out another coughing laugh. And why is you want to know where my children are? She put emphasis on the word 'my', not because of the kindling of loathing she felt for what had transpired in the past, but rather because she had single-handedly raised them. She was protective of them, and had at many times protected them with her own hide.

Ceon just stared at her, this was simply pissed off Layna being pissed off Layna. But she acted more primal than when he last knew her. I just want to know how they're doing. Layna, let's not start this again, especially out here in the open. Ceon heard the sudden snap of a twig, and quickly turned back to human form as he made out the silhouette of a police officer in the distance.

N i g h t w a t c hThe kill team had taken up position and were observing their targets. Two unsuspecting Lycans. They had made sure they were downwind of their prey, ensuring that the first and last thing they would know of the vampires was a rifle retort and a silver nitrate bullet to the head. The sniper peered through the scope with singular concentration, his target's head filled the scope. 'Confirmation to engage?' he asked the team leader, his voice barely a whisper. 'Order is confirmed, fire when ready.' came the reply. The vampire squeezed the trigger and the rifle barked, but just as he fired something blocked his shot. The bullet raced through the air and buried itself in the neck of a NYPD cop, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He slumped to the ground, a gaping wound at his throat and died shortly thereafter. he never really knew what hit him. 'Shiiiit, ******** humans, always getting in the ******** way!' The sniper cursed as he frantically worked the bolt action on the rifle and took aim for a second time. The rest of the five man team drew their weapons, most were armed with P90's, the sniper had his long rifle and one of the men sported a Minimi light machine gun. Which he proceeded to c**k and then fire at the Lycans.

Layna had been none-the-wiser to the vampires as they came within range of them, but as the human police officer fell to the ground, she was immediately on guard. Pulling Ceon to the ground, she turned her eyes to scanning the park and snarled loudly, her silvery eyes turning more crimson as she took in the vampires. "How dare you fire upon us!" She roared through clamped teeth, fangs getting in the way of coherent speech. Black claws outstretched as she let her senses spread through the area, taking in five vampires whom appeared, as well as the one further away whom had taken down the human.
Her rather petite Lycan form seemed to gain bulk as she felt rage fill her. "Why are you attacking us?!" She snapped, staring at each vampire in turn. They carried guns, what cowards.
((Also, it's kind of daunting for me to do fight RPs. I can try, but can't promise anything exceptional.))

Ceon's pupils shrunk into tiny dots as he watched a cloud of red and silver burst from the cops unguarded neck. He was transforming more more than he would have liked to tonight. Ceon reached into his pocket and pulled out a tiny cylinder. The lycan pushed on the top then slid his fingers together, seperated the cylinder into four slender, beeping discs. The discs went flying off in the direction of the rifle crack as Ceon flung them with his now massive lycan hand.
He completed his transformation as the discs lodged themselves among the trees and ground near the group, beeping louder and at a faster pace. One of the the bullets clipped off a sizeable chunk of hair, to which the rest of the bullets followed. Ceon grabbed Layna and leaped high into the trees, hoping for a chance to get away. The UV flash discs would hopefully buy them some time.

Layna felt Ceon shift behind her, and a soft clicking before something whizzed past her and lodged into nearby trees. She then felt herself ripped backwards by a large Lycanthropic arm that left her breathless for a moment. "What the hell has been going on in this city?!" She roared, angry and confused. Things had apparently gone downhill since she had left, and now things were getting out of hand.
Her claws dug into the bark as she pulled away from Ceon's furry arm, her own body shifting back into a human form, long hair covering her form in dark waves. She looked feral and pissed.
She gripped the branch with lycan claws and snarled down toward the ground, her still red eyes peering about her as she was suddenly blinded by the blinding light emitted by the discs. She let out a small gasp, never allowing herself to let go of the branch.

Ceon began creeping slowly to the top of the tree, trying not to make much noise as he retreated away from the fight. The oversized lycan looked down at Layna, reaching out to her with his mind. Layna, we have to get out of here. Follow me.. With that, Ceon leapt from tree top to tree top in the direction of his apartment, a place he hadn't gone in a while, especially since he had been hiding with other lycans deep underground near the sewers.
(Exit to Ceon's apartment)
