Lance's face went flushed and he exhaled, his breath a short lived small cloud of warmth, before looking up and making eye contact timidly. "H-hello, I-I'm Lance..." He took a few hesitant steps forward.

((I'm going to be logged out for the night now. ))

((Me too, I'm rather tired XD))
After gracefully getting to her feet, she dropped her cigarette butt and gently crushed it with the toe of her boot. In less than a second, she had moved closer to Lance. Her hand closed the distance between them as she offered it up for a shake.

"Nice to meet you, Lance," Alexz said with a friendly smile.

She inhaled his scent and felt her tongue grow heavy in her mouth. The Void fought for her attention and stirred her blood lust. It wanted her to lunge forward and drink from this poor unsuspecting boy. The shadows grew darker around her as the Void reached out to her causing her eyes to darken for a moment as they adjusted.

A small flat piece of shadow maneuvered its way along the ground of an alleyway across the street from the entrance of central park. It was quick, and continued moving towards the park silently. It crossed the entrance gates, and made its way through the well trimmed grass and suddenly stopped. A dark form rose from the shadow like an elevator, and constricted into a human shape, and facial details carved itself into the form, along with long black hair. Veroen let out an inaudible sigh as he stood there for a moment, freshly manifested from the slither of Void.

He was beginning to think he had made a mistake by coming back to the city after he had disappeared again.

He began slowly walking forward, head pointed down, deep in thought. The Void churned in his stomach, laughing maniacally in his mind with its inhuman tone of speech.

"Ignorant fool. You are merely delaying the inevitable!" it mocked Veroen, desiring to be put back in control once more.

"..." Veroen simply ignored the evil voice that rang through his mind. Of course he knew, but would that stop him from keeping control? No.

He stopped after he caught the scent of a Lycan. He hadn't got a whiff of a male Lycan in quite some time... and it brought back many horrible memories. He clenched his head as visions of countless Lycans being slayed by his hands flashed through his head. Being an Assassin Deathdealer for centuries was not something he was proud of, but it was the Vampire he had chosen to be. His eyes turned black, and the headache grew. He clenched his teeth, and realized that his fangs elongated, his instinctive desires for Lycan blood being the reason. The Void laughed some more, egging it on. Veroen then involuntarily gave in.

After slightly losing himself and most of his compassion that Eden had brought out of him for those brief moments, he looked up, with completely black irises. He could sense another Void user nearby. Curious. Familiar.

With a blank expression, he dissipated into black dust, And reappeared some 50 yards away from the bench that Alexz was sitting on. He could also see a young Lycan pup. His eyes narrowed once they fell upon the small Lycan. He remembered the last time he drank Lycan blood....

He jerked his head slightly, trying to keep his cool.

How long had it been since he had even fed...? He couldn't remember.

The Void Assassin simply stood there out in the open, in plain view of Alexz and the Lycan pup.

"H-huh?" Lance took a half step back startled at Alexz's speed and felt his heart begin beating quite a bit faster. His instincts twinged slightly trying to alert him to the danger he was in, but he took the hand and shook it once, cautiously, before dropping it swiftly. "N-nice to meet you to m-miss um..." The red tinting his cheeks had taken on a practically rosy hue. He might have noticed Veroen, might have if he hadn't been so preoccupied with the horribly frightening and chillingly attractive vampire in front of him. He swallowed nervously his Adam's apple giving a faint outline of it's movement up and down.

A tingling sensation rushed through her body as Veroen entered the park. The Void hummed deep within her as he came closer. Her hand rested on her stomach as she felt the familiar pain of the phantom diamond. Alexz sensed his inner turmoil had grown since their last encounter. He was dangerously close to the edge now more than ever.

Her hand relaxed in Lance's as she turned her attention to Veroen. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she caught the gist of his surface thoughts. The Void wanted to cause trouble tonight. It was almost as if his state of mind was contagious. Her fangs elongated as his thoughts of attacking Lance flooded her mind.

Blinking rapidly, she stopped herself from falling into that trap.

"Don't even think about it, he's just a child," Alexz spoke into his mind, even though she knew it didn't matter to him.

"...er..." Lance took a step back. Elongating fangs were a sign blatant enough that even he couldn't miss. He tried to give off a gruff-sounding growl but it came out closer to a scared whimper. "W-why d-do I keep r-running into scary v-vampires tonight!" He thought.

Veroen could see Alexz's eyes narrow. Her thoughts rang through his mind, and the Void urged Veroen to silence her. Veroen was hardly even Veroen tonight. But the fact that the Lycan pup was merely a child somewhat mattered to Veroen's increasingly smaller conscience. He looked at Lance for a moment, uncertainty now going through his head. His real eye turned Crimson, and his fake one made from the Void stayed black as his mind began to conflict.

He hesitated.

The headache came back, except much worse than before, and his head felt like it was being cracked in half. He gripped his head, and collapsed onto his knees in severe pain. The world began to spin, and black blood slowly began flowing from his nose, and ears.

The Void laughed in his mind hysterically.

'Help me...' was the only thought that ran through his head as he coughed up black blood and fell over. It was clear that Veroen did not have much time left before he became nothing more than a puppet of the Void, yet he was still managing to hold on somehow...

The world to him disappeared as he lost consciousness.

((Edited.))

It was rather shocking to witness his hesitation and the Void's backlash. Her eyes widened as the severity of his struggle began to take a physical toll on Veroen. Alexz gasped as Veroen collapsed and her hand slipped from Lance's and fell to her side. She felt the familiar pain of the phantom diamond in her abdomen, but disregarded it.

"I'm so sorry, Lance, I have to go," she said quickly before sinking into her own shadow and rising at Veroen's side.

She began to wonder why she wanted to help him. After all, he had had her life in his hands and had no qualms about ending it back in Las Noches. She could very easily watch him suffer and do nothing to intervene. But she wasn't a vengeful person. Revenge was something others of her kind enjoyed. Alexz was much more compassionate.

Kneeling beside him, she gently placed her hand on his shoulder. She shut her eyes and they vanished.

"H-huh..." Lance startled and confused, decided that, perhaps he should go back to his apartment.

Rizu hopped down from a small bridge, landing him directly in the middle of the street for only a split second as he quickly shuffled himself into the ally ways, a short cut to the park which he new and loved. The moment he feet touched the natural grass in constrast to the cold hard pavement he instantly felt at home. Rizu closed his eyes and breathed in deeply through his nose while simultaniously grabbing the scents of every living thing in the area. Once again he was in luck, one thing he liked about this park was people came here to exercise. Which meant that half the humans were clean, healthy, and had high quality meat, and the other half were fat and jucicy trying to get into shape but none the less a perfect meal for a hungry wolf. In this case it seemed as though the latter would be his option for the night. The only other catch Rizu had noticed was a female, something that he by princible did not have a problem with feeding on, but from experiance he knew that females tended to scream alot more and louder than men. Taking down a female, while generally easier, was just far too troublesome for her worth. No, the large, burly male, one out of shape, less likely to scream, easier to gut, more meat, there was just so many things appealing that for a moment Rizu pitted the poor man for being so appetizing.

Rizu took off into a jog, realizing that this hunt did not require anything but a few swipes, no need to cause a scene not even for the target. As he got closer to the fat jogger Rizu turned quickly and dug his razor sharp nails directly into the back of the mans neck before bring his wrist down into a full swip resulting in four claw marks going from the mans neck all the down his back.

The jogger lurched and fell to the ground, his body twitching as the blood dripped placidly from its body. Even in this deathly state his body still was trying to force itself to heal, Rizu shook his head, the human body was interesting, no matter what the injury, even it is something that is beyond human capability, the body will still try to heal it as if it were a simple cut. Futile, but the effort had to be respect. Rizu bent down and used his index finger to slice the mans spinal cored, killing him instantly, no need to make him suffer more than he already did.

With his prey down, rizu grabbed his leg and carried him off the road to a row of bushes lined in the middle of the park where he tossed the man into it and slowly began devouring him. Runners and joggers alike ran past the path, some noticing the smell of blood, others simply obvious. Little matter however, this city was full of death, the smell of blood was seccond hand to these folk. What a shame the human world really was.

A light breeze rustled the leaves of a thick tree overlooking one of the park's lakes, making specks of moonlight dance on the pale skin of a reclining female at its base. The brief illumination brought by the glowing ember of a lit cigarette revealed the smooth and seemingly untroubled face of a young woman. Closer inspection would call attention to a highly unusual pair of eyes, which seemed to be deep pools of darkness surrounded by a thin strip of silver. Even closer inspection would call attention to a set of sharp fangs, which peeked through the elder’s ruby red lips as a steady stream of smoke escaped and rose to meet the stars. Her eyes followed the stream's winding path before it dissipated, leaving her with a clear view of the sky, the same sky she had been gazing up at for over half a millennium.

She sighed, her thick eyelashes falling to rest on her porcelain cheeks. Her cigarette slowly burned at her side as she allowed herself to take in the city’s sounds, which she had missed during her slumber.

A breath, ragged and drawn-out left Layna's lips as she stepped from the cab and breathed in. The air in the city was something she had little memory of, having for the last three years been living in the country with her family with the Blackleafe pack.

Now, returning to the smoke-filled smog of downtown New York, she couldn't help but wonder why she had returned. Perhaps it was the draw of familiar grounds and the people within. Or perhaps it was more. This was where her firstborn was conceived and birthed, and where she had hoped for him to grow. But things had transpired that had lead her to leave. Quickly.

But something else drew her, it was the familiar darkness that dwell within her, the comforting cloying presence that seemed to darken her and un-noticeably protect her from herself, as well as others. It was the presence of the fallen angel who embraced Layna and had since filled her with the strength to protect her children.

Layna smiled moodily at the memory, for it was both fond and terrible. It had changed her immensely, but she always felt for the better.

But then there were other memories that made the smile disappear from her lips. She wondered how Ceon was, though she could really never forgive him for what had happened, and all that had transpired to make her leave New York in the first place. And Zarathos, her first love... The Vampire whom heart she had shattered. And Razu... dear Razu and all his gentleness and laughter. She missed them all in different way.

Sighing, Delayna stretched her long limbs and wandered through the park away from the street. It was empty for the most part except for a few night owls. Stale scents assailed her from all sides, and faint memories made her cringe. She had loved and lost love here. Yet, they were old memories. She had returned not to experience the past, rather she wanted to make a fresh beginning and add new memories.

As she continued to walk, she spotted the fountain in the center of the park. In a dazed sort of state, she wandered toward it like a child following a light through a dark tunnel. When she reached it, she sat down on the cold sides and brushed her fingertips through the frigid water, not feeling the cold, her own body boiling with the raised temperature that was a sign of a Lycan.

She smiled slightly and looked up at the sky at the moon peeking through the trees and closed her eyes, allowing her senses to wrap her in familiarity.

Ceon meandered through the seemingly empty park. There was a fresh layer of mist hovering a foot off the grand, which let only cooled the temperature more. Ceon loved the cold, which for him blended perfectly with the now full moon. He gazed up at the shining orb, pupils dilating, and took in a long breath. As the oxygen filled his lungs, long gray hairs sprouted from his body. By the time Ceon had exhaled, he was in his full lycan form, towering over 9 feet tall on his hind legs. What caught his senses even more was a familiar scent, something he had only dreamed of finding again. With that, he set off through the park, searching for what it could be.

Layna opened her eyes suddenly, a whiff of a strangely familiar scent reaching her. It wrapped into her senses and stilled her body, including her heartbeat. It was a scent that brought back memories, good and bad. What was it that made her feel like this? Standing, she wiped her chilled fingers on her jacket and peered around. Who was it? When she heard soft, pounding feet approaching, she took the only action she could without turning into a Lycan in defense. Leaping away from the fountain, she pulled herself rather easily up into the branches of a tree, it leaves still covering it's branches for the most part.

Her eyes shone silver in the dark, tinted ever-so-slightly with red from the demonic aura that flowed through her. She was indeed a Lycan, but she was...more.

She was filled with a strange feeling, hatred, regret, fear, delight... and she wasn't sure which it was that was the dominant emotion. Who was it?

She pressed herself to the tree, hiding herself within it's darkness, and hoping that the other scents that mingled the area would hide most of hers.

Ceon sniffed along a winding trail of that lingering scent, that exotic smell of longing and regrets. It was at a large fountain that the trail ran cold, the chilled, almost frozen water neutralizing the scent. After some trailing around, Ceon turned back to human, still towering at a height much taller than even a tall human. He slipped his shirt back on, now slightly torn from the stretching, and sat on the fountain, letting the frigid liquid spritz the back of his neck. "The hell?..."
