heart I am a flute player also^_^ :squee: I am in the 9th grade, in our highschool band, we have 70 people. If you add up the 6th,7th,8th, and highschool band we'd be marching almost 200 people. Yayness. Well in the highschool band there are 9 flutes.

fullyalive0 HI my flute ppl! (not really mine...) ANYWHO! I have a question, is it just me or do my fellow freshmen marching band ppl get treated ok compared to them telling u that ur going to get treated like crap? I am treated quite nice.

I think it just depends on the attitude of the upperclassmen (esp. the seniors)... I got pretty much ignored freshman year, but the freshmen in this year at my school are accepted.
WELL, I am a Freshman Flute Player. We got treated ok, It was pretty normal. We got lead around like semi helpless puppies, but it was only if you wanted it. biggrin Most of the flute upperclassmen Flute players were "sneaking" tidbits of help to us when we needed it. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Freshmen got treated well in my band. (Not realy my band, but you get the picture!)

Hi, i'm new to the guild, and ( obviously ) I play flute.

I'm in 10th grade, and I've been playing since my 6th grade year.

I play flute! Im in Pep, Marching and concert. But if youre in the band you have to do all of those anyways..
Pep Band music is fun.. its just the basketball games that suck..

I play the flute and I absolutely love it!!!! biggrin ....but my all time favorite is the piccolo.....it adds zest to any arrangement!!

Chuukii Our band has around 150-ish members, but they split us into two bands when marching season is over. Oh, I wanted to ask: Does anyone have any ideas for band T-shirts? Or maybe just for the flute section? Here are some ideas from the past: Band: It's what the cool kids do What are the football players doing on our field? Foxy Ladies United Through Eternal Sisterhood Flutes kick brass Floot Loops This isn't hopscotch! (inside joke for our band) I need a new idea for a shirt. WE HAD ONE THAT WENT AROUND THAT READ......FLUTES DO IT WITH OPEN HOLES...... (not very nice but that is what went around)

Hmmm...the stereotype in our school is all of our flutes are mexican....except 2 I think. But yeah, poor guys, ya'll have to protect your sexuality when playing a flute.
I hate that stereotype!

...I've only been playing the flute for a few years, but piccolo does seem interesting.
Does anyone know why we have to have accompianists?

In my band the flutes are sterotyped as being crazy and a little clueless. We are also none to be a bunch of giggly fun loving girls. blaugh
