Amy watched the battle with rapt attention, wanting to figure out what made that little fox so very clever. Could she go toe to toe with a psychic? The thought intruiged her, and she thought how her own team would've fared against the little fox had she ignored Tyrogue in favor of the Fire-type. Flora would be down with a matter of hits, and Marshall wasn't exactly the most... clever.
What an interesting Pokemon, Amy thought to herself, watching the Kadabra and the Vulpix battle. Karrigan must be building herself quite the formidable team... Could I ever be that strong? Her blue eyes focused on the redhead, a slight pang of jealousy ringing through her. But Karrigan had been at this much longer, hadn't she?
She crossed her fingers along with the redhead as the Pokeball was thrown, focused on the fatigued Fire-type. At least one of them was able to try and catch her. The brunette smiled and cheered out, "Go Karrigan!"
=-=-=-=-=-=
The portly man howled in anger as his Geodude was hit by a second Water Gun. The Rock Pokemon hovered over the ground, trembling under the effort to stay conscious. Finally, he simply fell to the ground with a dull thud, eyes closing. The battle was short, embarassing, and anticlimactic, to boot. And the man was practically turning red with his rage.
"Get up!" he howled, stomping his feet several times. "I thought you were stronger than that! C'mon, Geodude!" Jade rolled her eyes in slight disgust, hardly noticing the blonde boy that glanced back at her normal scowl. At this point, she didn't care about what some stranger thought of her; all she needed was to get Solaris back to full health.
"Thanks," she muttered as she passed by Jake, slowly walking forward, eyes dead set on the PokeCenter not that far away. But then, there was over 210 pounds of angry, half-sobbing man blocking her path.
"T-that... you cheated!" he wailed, pride gradually stung. "You owe me a battle once my Geodude gets healed! Not some blonde haired, snot-nosed punk who just brings in his Pokemon and thrashes my Pokemon--"
"Solaris," Jade said softly, releasing the Pokeball she held in her hand. "Give him something to dry his tears, would you?" The fatigued Vulpix came into view, unleashing a torrent of flames that twisted in a wide arc around the man, never coming close enough to harm him much. There was another shriek, much higher in pitch this time, and Jade winced at the dull thud of the man falling flat on his butt in the middle of the street.
A moment later, Solaris wobbled a little and fell on the ground, letting out a weak cry. That last maneuver had taken what little energy she had left. Concern flickered across the girl's face and she scooped up the Fox Pokemon, offering another hasty "Thanks again!" to Jake before running to the PokeCenter.

The Kadabra's determination seemed even fiercer than Karrigan's as the small group watched the wily little fox was drawn into the red and white Pokeball. Karrigan's green eyes were wide with worry that the Vulpix hadn't been weakened enough to succumb to capture, but she recalled that each of her Pokemon had done at least some damage before the Fire-type had brought them down, with Lennier having been the deciding factor thanks to his ability to Teleport and Disable the fox's most useful ability.
The redheaded girl glanced back at Amy, grateful for her new friend's support, though she quickly realized the Tyrogue that had been chasing the Vulpix in the first place was nowhere to be seen, and neither was Marshall, Amy's Wooper. A chance to ask about Amy's encounter would arrive momentarily as Lennier directed her attention back to the Pokeball, which had finally stopped shaking and come to rest, a soft pinging sound chiming out to signal that the capture had been completed. Karrigan hadn't realized she'd been holding her breath until a small wave of dizziness overcame her, and she breathed out slowly through her nose before walking over and picking up the Pokeball with her good hand. She smiled at it, and held it against her chest before she looked at the Kadabra with a confused expression. "You'd mentioned she said something rude," she said, tilting her head slightly. "What did she say?"
The Kadabra's eyes seemed to be smiling as he bowed his head. "Forgive me, Miss Karrigan, Miss Amy, but I do believe that those words should not be repeated with young ladies present."
Karrigan nodded as she clipped the sphere to her belt. "Fair enough," she replied. "Thank you for your help," she added, almost as an afterthought. "I don't think I would have been able to capture that Vulpix without your help."
'You are quite welcome," the Kadabra replied in his calm, telepathic voice. "If you don't mind me saying, my teammates are in pretty bad shape, it might not be a bad idea to head back to the Pokemon Center in town."
Karrigan nodded, looking back to Amy. "I think that's a good idea," she said, pausing as Lennier had asked to be returned to his own Pokeball. "That is, if you don't mind. What happened to that Tyrogue, by the way?"
=-=-=-=-= For the first time in her life, Bibarel did not feel very good about her victory, and she muttered a sort of apology to the Geodude in Pokemon-speak. Jake, on the other hand, was now glaring angrily at the man, biting back the apology that had been on his own lips had the man simply accepted his defeat and moved on. He didn't get a chance to make a retort, however, as the girl had released her own Pokemon and it hadn't hesitated to release a flurry of flames that forced the man to back off once and for all. That's a Vulpix, Jake thought, watching the poor fox wobble before toppling over, obviously very weak from what probably had been an earlier battle. Jake wasn't sure why he recognized the Pokemon, but in the back of his mind he could see a Pokemon just like it (though he got the distinct impression that it was a male) seemingly engaged in battle with a very strange, very round and familiar Pokemon that Jake thought he recognized. The memory was fleeting, however, and as he shook his head to clear his mind, the girl was already walking away, carrying her Pokemon in her arms.
That reminded him that Grotle was in dire need of healing, as well, and he stumbled over his own long legs as he ran after the girl. "Wait up," he called, falling into stride alongside her. "Uh, are you two okay?" he asked as they approached the red-roofed building and its convenient sliding doors, fully intending to let the girl get treatment for her Vulpix first.
=-=-=-=-= Mai either hadn't noticed Katie's almost-immediate resentment or she just didn't care as she watched the Staravia execute a perfectly timed Whirlwind and send the annoying Drifblim to the ground, where as expected, it bounced. Granted, this tactic hadn't been exactly what Mai had meant, but it worked nevertheless, and she pointed at the balloon Pokemon after giving a glance to the Glameow to make sure it was still confused and helpless. "Siren, now give it a Thunderbolt," the admin said sharply, her icy eyes narrowed into dangerous slits as her Misdreavus gathered her energy and launched a powerful bolt of lighting at the Drifblim, hoping this one would not miss its target.
"See, Adam?" Penny shouted, her once cheerful expression gone in favor of one of anger, "I told you a Balloon Pokemon was stupid!" She turned back to her own Pokemon. "Come on, Glameow! Snap out of it! Faint Attack on that Misdreavus, now!" For a moment it seemed like the Catty Pokemon would execute her trainer's command, but it was a short-lived moment as it took three steps, then staggered, now lying on its belly and mewing like a helpless kitten.

Her bike wobbled violently as Kimiko walked it up to the bike shop. Kadaj still sat in the basket, he was holding onto the wrapped egg with his little paws to keep it stable. It was only a short walk over to the bike shop; she tried her best to keep the bike stable as she made it in side. Her stiletto heels made loud clacking sounds as she approached the counter, a middle aged man greeted her. “Oh, wow hi!” he said in surprise, Kimiko managed to tower over him a bit, mainly with the help of her shoes. “How may I help you?” “Well if you come around, you can see I have a flat!” She exclaimed as she pulled her bike out a little. “I only got this thing recently, this is beyond annoying.” The man looked at her bike while she took Kadaj and the egg out of the basket. She carefully placed the egg in her bag. “Well, if it’s as new as you say then it should still be under warranty, we can fix up the tire.” “Oh thank you!” she smiled big and handed him her papers. “I’ll just explore the town while it gets fixed up!” She said just before heading out of the bike shop, Kadaj quickly following behind her. Digging through her bag, Kimiko pulled out a map and looked over the notes for Eternia. “Hmm… says there’s a museum here. That might be interesting. What do you think Kadaj?” The pokemon gave an excited yip. “Ok, OK, We’ll visit that! Let me just find out where it i-oh!” Someone suddenly bumped into her. Kimiko was knocked forward; she quickly caught her bearings and turned to see what happened. A girl in a pink and chocolate brown lolita dress was dusting herself off. She wasn’t in any old dress though, “Oh! That’s the Chess Chocolate print that released this month!” Kimiko exclaimed. Someone else who loved the fashions she did. “Hey! Why don’t you watch where you’re going? This dress is expensive!” The girl sized her up, “Ew! A dirty gyaru, thank goodness I didn’t get any of your filthy tanner on me!” “w-what?” Kimiko cried out.

“Oh man. Athena’ll have a field day there, huh?” The thought of the overly serious Noctowl enjoying herself didn’t really enter Scarlet’s mind, considering in the day or so since he met her, she never really exhibited anything resembling joy, but he imagined she would get some sense of having done a good job after destroying a team Scarlet thought probably consisted of Beedrill and Metapod.
“Well, it doesn’t matter to me where we go. I pretty much have to go everywhere to get all the badges anyway. So if you wanna go to Azalea, I’m in.” The more Scarlet thought about it, the more he realized he stood a better chance against Bugsy himself anyway. That was the beauty of having a ghost/poison and a fire type on one’s team, he supposed. “Okay, now I’m kinda excited to go.

The sun had barely began its decent in the sky as Leight looked up to see the entrance of the mountain. Wiping his brow of the few beads of sweat, Leight sat against a small tree and dug into his biggest pocket, taking out a small wrapped rice cake. "You hungry, Snow?" he asked as the little penguin sat next to him. He broke off a good portion and handed it to the penguin pokemon, who started nibbling on the cake. "We will rest here for a little bit before going in, okay?" "Pipluuu!"
I wonder what we will find in the mountain. Grandpa used to tell me stories of the old meteors that hit this mountain. Who knows... Maybe we will see one of them.

A wide smile spread across the girl's lips as she heard that tell-tale ping, glad that Karrigan had caught the Pokemon she was looking for. They both had new team members now, and it seemed like the two of them were ready to move forward with their adventures.
"Congratulations!" Amy cried, offering the redhead a thumbs up and another smile. At the mention of a PokeCenter from the helpful Psychic-type, Amy looked down at the Pokeballs attached to her belt. Marshall and Tyrogue would need to be healed, of course. But something was bothering her. Why on earth would a Tyrogue be wandering out on this route? Since the Pokeball hadn't been rejected, this must've meant that he didn't belong to any trainer, but then...
"Oh, I caught him," the brunette said after a small moment, returning from her thoughts. She lifted up the Pokeball in question and smiled a little. "And yes, the PokeCenter sounds nice. And then I think I should visit that Fighting Dojo we passed." She looked into the distance, a slight sense of guilt spreading through her. "I think he might've belonged there..."
=-=-=-=-=-=-=
The black haired girl ignored the cries of the man she left behind, eyes set dead forward on the building with the red roof. If anyone else wanted to stop her from healing Solaris, they weren't going to be so lucky.
That entire encounter had been upsetting, mainly because Jade's confidence had faltered. She had only one Pokemon, and what happened when someone tried to battle her when she had nothing but one, badly wounded Pokemon? Some boy had to come up and save her. Jade grimaced to herself, then paused slightly, allowing Jake to catch up.
"We're fine," Jade said brusquely, hurrying the two of them into the PokeCenter. It didn't occur to her how rude she had just sounded until a moment later, and she winced a little. "Sorry. I didn't mean..." She sighed and shook her head. "Thanks, for helping me out. I hope your Pokemon's okay, not that the Geodude's Tackle looked that strong..." She stepped up the counter, recalling Solaris into her Pokeball and handing it to the nurse with surprisingly gentleness. With a small sigh of relief, the young woman turned and faced the blonde with an arched brow. "I'm Jade. Who're you?"
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Jett snorted a little at the thought of the Noctowl having a field day. Then, he shuddered. The idea was a bit scarier than he first imagined, but it was a nice thought. The Normal/Flying wouldn't have many problems against Bug-types. Aerosmith and his Flying-type moves might be effective, too. But River... Well, he knew that Bug-types were strong against Psychic, and the Emotion Pokemon didn't exactly have Flamethrower or even a good Ember to scare 'em off.
"So Azalea, then?" Jett asked again, looking between Jasper and Scarlet. He was kind of surprised that the both of them had agreed so easily to go; he figured he would be on his own sooner than he would've liked, trekking through unknown territory and getting lost a lot of times. He smiled a little. This was the more preferable situation.

Robin was lucky, it turned out she really did not have to go too far to find the next town. It was just around one of the many high ledges surrounding them. Doing her best to stem the flow of blood that was streaming down her face; and her best to keep pressure on her nose. She normally would probably be really excited about a town full of flowers, even if they were all closed since it was night time. Still her face hurt too much for her to really care, plus Ace now had a limp of sorts while some of Black*Stars bruises were turning into a dark painful color. Even in the dark Robin could identify the red tiled roof of the pokemon center. That and the small pokemart seemed to be the only place open.
The injured trio made their way to the very small pokemon clinic and pushing open the door, it wasn’t even automatic like most were now-a-days. The door chimed as they stepped through and Robin looked at the empty clinic. There were really only a few chairs, a front desk, the healing machine, and a door to a unisex bathroom and a backroom of some sort. The backroom door swung open and a tired and pajama wearing Nurse Joy stepped out.
“Oh my, it is a little late for you to be wondering about!” She headed over to Robin, and as she got closer she seemed to notice the blood all over Robin’s front. “Oh dear! What happened?” She cried and rushed over to Robin, her slippers slapping against the floor. Reaching out she pulled Robin’s hands away from her face.
“Ah gob bib in da fabe.” Robin managed to get out as she winced. The nurse was gently pressing on her face, no matter how gentle, it still hurt like hell.
“Oh dear, you broke your nose.” She frowned as she felt around a little. She wasn’t really a human doctor, she knew the basics but she didn’t know all that much. “It isn’t too bad. Your nose probably won’t be ruined after I set this.” She paused as she set her hands on each side of the swollen brake. “This is really going to hurt. I am sorry.”
That was all the warning Robin was going to get before pain blossomed all over. She was pretty sure she had screamed and/or blacked out. When she could see through the pain properly she stared cross-eyed as the nurse applied some sort of bandage to hold the break together. “Ouch…” Robin muttered as she came back to her senses.
“Make sure you get someone to check up on your nose. The swelling should go down soon. Let me heal your pokemon while you get cleaned up. We can get you an ice pack when you get out.”
Nodding Robin motioned for Ace and Black*Star to follow the Nurse while she headed off to the small bathroom.

Once inside Robin headed over to the mirror and was greeted with the now pretty ugly reflection. Groaning, she grabbed a bunch of tissue and wetted them. Carefully she started to dab at her face cleaning up the blood. Oh man she looked like a complete mess. Oh geeze she could hardly breathe properly through her nose, taking a deep breath through her mouth, she decided she was probably going to be breathing that way until the swelling went down. It was a pretty good thing that she didn’t wear to much clothing since she didn’t have any blood on them.
Stepping out of the restroom Robin watched Black*Star jump off the healing machine looking as good as new. Ace was leaning against it looking healthy as well, if a little bored now. Smiling happily at the sight of them, Robin headed over and scooped them both up into a hug. “Oh I am so glad you guys are feeling better!” Setting them down she turned to the nurse ready to thank her. Instead she was greeted with the sight of an icepack. Gratefully the redhead took it and pressed it to her nose. Oh that felt so much better! She happily sighed as she watched the nurse for a second. “Thanks for the help. I don’t know what I would have done without you.”
“You would have probably been cursed with a messed up nose for the rest of your life.” The nurse teased.
Robin just laughed at that and grabbed the Nurse into a quick hug of her own. “Still, thank you for the help.”
The Nurse seemed a little flustered but happy at the hug. “Oh you’re welcome. We don’t normally get people this late at night. We are a pretty small town here. They mostly just stay during the day to see the flowers.”
“I wish I could stay to see the flowers, but I need to make it to Eterna by tomorrow.” Robin was a little bit depressed at that. It would be so cool to see all the flower fields in bloom. Not being the most observant person ever she did not notice the nurse pale at the words.
“Oh my, please tell me that you are not going into the forest at night.” The nurse looked almost desperate as she asked them.
“Huh?” Robin glanced back over at the out the small window before grinning back at her. “Well I need to make it to Gardenia before morning so I guess I will have to. You don’t happen to have a flash light do you?” She was pretty sure she didn’t have one. She should probably go get one some time.
The nurse seemed to panic a bit at Robin’s words. “Oh dear, oh honey you shouldn’t go into that forest at night.” She paused for a second as if she was thinking before she continued. “Strange things happen in there at night, well mostly at night, sometimes things happen during the day to.”
“Strange things?” Robin really didn’t get it. She really needed to get through; she didn’t want to disappoint Tony Tony or Ampersand. Plus strange things sounded kind of interesting. “What kind of strange things?”
The nurse paused for a second before a small frown appeared on her face. “People go in there and they don’t… they don’t remember. There is nothing really wrong with them.” She paused as she tried to gather her thoughts. “They seemed upset, but they just don’t seem to remember why.” This didn’t really sound very convincing now that she was saying this aloud. “I know it sounds crazy. Look if you must,” she paused here as if debating whether to continue or not. “if you must go into the forest let me give you something. “The nurse went over to the counter and pulled out a flash light, and oddly enough a large black sharpie. Heading back over she placed them both in Robin’s hands, a worried look on her face. “So you can see what you are doing.” Holding up the sharpie to Robins face, a serous expression on her own face. “If you see anything, anything odd at all, write it down. Write it down where you can see it before you forget.”

Robin stared down at the pen and then the other person’s worried face. Not seeing anything wrong with it Robin took the pen and stuffed it into her shorts pocket. “Ok sure. I promise.”
“Oh! One more thing.“ The nurse rushed off grabbing an old coat and shoved it into Robin’s hands. “It’s could out and well, you don’t seem to have much clothing.” She looked a little sheepish at that.
Robin wasn’t offended at all by the comment and just gave her a happy smile as she took the thick old coat and slipped it on. “Thank you.”
The older nurse still looked worried and her eyes slipped down to the bored looks on her two pokemon. She then looked up at the happy smile on the girls face. What could she do? Her nose was broken and still she didn’t even seem to notice anymore. The swelling had gone down a bit so that probably helped. This bright young girl was going into that forest and she desperately did not want her to leave. How could you want to submit someone to that place? All the people who came back were never really the same. It almost felt like she was sending this nice, if somewhat dumb, young girl to her death. “Please reconsider doing this, you can wait until morning. It’s safe in the morning.”
Shaking her head in a no Robin just gave the nurse a big hug. “Thank you so much with your help.” Turning to her pokemon she gave them a big smile. “Ready to go guys?” They both looked excited at Robin’s declaration that it was time to go. Giving one last wave at the nurse, the trio headed out and towards the bridge out of town.

As they walked over the bridge Robin was super grateful for her new, old, coat. Turning the large collar up to keep the wind from pushing through her not very there clothing. At her side Ace’s warm flame on his tail not only served as a mini lamp and heater, not as bright and direct as the flashlight Robin was flashing in front of them. Black*Star was also looking excited, they were finally out of that boring pokecenter and looking to get to an exciting forest, maybe they would fight something.
After they crossed the bridge there was a soft of windmill place, or another bridge. While the windmills were pretty cool Robin could see the tree’s getting thicker in the way with the bridge. Deciding that she really would have to travel back here: especially during the day so she could see all the pretty flowers to. She was pretty sure that Brook would like it there, Luffy and Raz to. In face she was with her only two teammates that would probably be bored in that town.
They headed over the bridge and found themselves at a large opening in the trees that lead to the mysterious forest. Looking at it Robin out her hands on her hips and frowned. The nurses warning didn’t really make too much sense, the forest didn’t’ really look all that frightening. Still, she was going to keep her promise to the nurse. Reaching into her shorts pockets she pulled out the large black sharpie and waggled it at Ace and Black*Star. “Let me know if you see anything.”

The forest itself wasn’t that interesting. Well Robin had never really spent a lot of time in a forest, so she couldn’t really tell what was normal or what wasn’t. The trio walked through the silent and empty forest. All they could see were trees, grass, and the occasional beam of moonlight that made it through the branches.
It seemed like everyone held the fear the nurse had. There was no one there. It seemed like the whole place was completely empty. She couldn’t even hear anything, not any movement, no Krickitots chirping. The only sound seemed to be coming from them or the breeze that caused the branches and the leaves to rustle. Well, the silence was a little off putting; she wasn’t used to anything being so quiet. Still it wasn’t a reason to be so scared of this place.
At her side Black*star was a bit upset that this forest was turning out to be just as boring. Ace though, Ace was tense. The perceptive Monferno sensed that something was wrong here. There was something wrong in this forest, he just wasn’t sure what. Bright blue eyes scanned the area in hopes that he could catch anything before trouble started.
It turned out that Robin had little to no sense of direction if there wasn’t a path for her to just walk down. Ace was pretty sure that they had passed the same large moss covered rock five times already. They were stopped currently at said big moss rock as Robin scratched her head and flashed the flashlight through the trees. Ace and Black*Star was using his claws to carve his name in the moss and rock. Ace was pretty sure that someone would be upset at the Totodiles actions.
“Well I didn’t see anything out there. Can you believe it? There are no path's through this forest or anything.” Robin huffed as she walked over to them a pout on her face.
As she got closer Ace sniffed as some strange smell hit him. The Monferno gave her a strange look. The fire pokemon’s eyes went wide as he saw the pen she had been given was open… it hadn’t been before.

The fire Pokemon leapt from the rock and grabbed the pen from his trainer’s hand. “Ace?” Robin asked confused a she looked down at the pen. She didn’t seem to get it at first. She looked down at him with a confused smile on her face. After a second though, things began to click in her head. Reaching out with her left hand she grabbed the open pen from Ace. “I don’t remember taking the cap off…” She muttered. Holding it up closer to her the sleeve on her jacket slid down.
Robin’s attention flew from the pen to her arm. While she was normally not very observant it was hard not to notice when there were thick blocky words written on your arm. Her eyes widened in fear as she stared at her arm. Setting the flashlight and pen down she shakily pulled her sleeve back and couldn’t help a strangled gasp at what was written.
THE NURSE WAS RIGHT
That was the biggest one written clearly by her shaking hand. “I don’t remember writing this.” She managed to get out. Both Ace and Black*Star crowded around her looking at all the words on her arms. Other than the first and largest message the others read.
DO NOT WAKE THEM
KEEP QUIET
DO NOT LOOK AWAY!
The last one was bolded and underlined. It also looked like it was the last one she had written. Robin bit back a choked sob. She wasn’t normally like this she normally wouldn’t be this scared of just a few words. Especially of something she had written herself. It was just, it was just, she couldn’t remember writing this. She didn’t remember any of this, how could someone to remember writing a panicked message on their own arm?

Ace and Black*Star had to do something quickly to help snap Robin out of this panic attack she was slowly getting into. She might not be the smartest one there but they needed her. She was stronger in ways that Ace and Black*Star were not and right now they needed her to be strong. After all she wasn’t the only one who was freaking out.
It was Black*Star who eventually reached up and slapped Robin hard across the face, he was a bit careful to ignore the broken nose though. The two starters looked up at Robin with determined if worried faces as she dropped down to her knees. The redhead seemed to snap back into reality though as she grabbed the two and pulled them into a fierce hug. The three of them sat there for a moment doing their best to bring comfort to each other and keep the warmth between them. When they were feeling together again Robin loosened her grip around the other two. They still were holding each other close just not as desperate as before.
“Thanks you two.” Robin sniffled slightly, either she was crying or her nose was bugging her, it was a little hard to tell. “I am still scared; I am not panicking anymore though.” She paused and took a deep breath looking at the other two. “We need to get out of here. The nurse was right; we should have waited until morning. It’s too late now though and we have to push on. We are going to make it through this forest.” Holding up her arm to look at the messages she had written, she read them again and shook her head. “I don’t care what is going on here. I just want to get us through safely. Let’s let someone else who is smarter than us figure that out.” She grinned at the group doing her best to look confident for them.
“Ok, so we have no idea how to get through this crazy maze for a forest, we still don’t have to lose each other though right? I know you guys are really tough but I want us to at least hold some part of each other.” Robin was pretty sure that under any other circumstance the two would object. It seemed like being in a super creepy forest though brought out her team’s teamwork skills.
“Ok, secondly from what I can understand from my notes we shouldn’t be too loud. So I guess none of our usually running around and shouting.” That was going to be a tough one, her group was naturally loud and rambunctious, Ace and Black*Star looked a little concerned at that request. Robin was pretty sure Ace could be quiet but Black*Star? He wanted everyone to notice him. Looking down at the Totodile she couldn’t help but frown at him. “Please Black*Star. I know you could probably beat them up but we don’t have time for you to do that.” She really hoped that would appease him. It didn’t seem like it would work either as he was still looking particularly rebellious. “Oh please Black*Star. Um… If you promise to stay as quiet as possible I will use you first in the gym battle tomorrow.” That was pretty much all Robin could offer that would appeal to the Totodile. She was pretty lucky though since that did seem to appeal to Black*Star.
With the Totodile on board Robin looked down at her other messages on her arm. “I don’t really get this last one.” Robin muttered as she read it again. It seemed like it was very important and she just didn’t get why. “Don’t look away.” She muttered to herself. “Umm, well if you happen to see… whatever is doing this don’t look away. Just um… just mention it to us and don’t look away.” The group nodded at each other and Robin grabbed Ace’s hand, the Monferno grabbed both Robin’s and Black*Stars hand. They didn’t know where they were going but they had a goal in mind. Get out of this forest!

Unfortunately a goal in mind did not really help them. As it turned out none of them had any sense of direction and each of them being scared did not seem to help matters in the slightest. Black*Star of course was acting like, and maybe he wasn’t, frightened, he probably wanted to fight whoever was messing with them, Ace meanwhile was casting weary glances around the whole forest alert but tried to act somewhat laid back. Still lack of sense of direction and each of them being scared they did seem to be moving forward so that was good, well maybe they were moving forward, they hadn’t seen the moss rock again.
Looking around Robin couldn’t help but feel like she and her whole group were being watched. Of course that might have something to do with the messages she found written on her arms that basically told her she was indeed being watched. Still it was unsettling due to the quiet darkness that seemed to press down on them all while at the same time making everything seem so open. They were slowly making their way through the forest, or Robin was hoping they would get to some sort of exit or another but they were probably in the middle of the forest somewhere.
It was as they were walking through the short grass that they heard a crack of a branch breaking behind them. The trio jumped and spun around all of them staring with wide eyes trying desperately to see what had startled them. They all seemed to see it at the same time and the results were different for all of them. Robin gasped as she clutched her head as her memories came flooding back, she remembered writing those things on her arm and what had scared her so badly. Ace’s eyes narrowed as he to remembered catching glimpses of this pokemon through the forest, he remembered a few times turning to tell Robin about it but instantly forgetting. The Monferno felt a little bit better that he wasn’t slipping and he had indeed caught sight of this. Black*Star though, well it seemed like the Totodile dealt with his fear, or lack thereof, with violence and with a loud cry he leapt forward going to attack. The creature left in a blur of yellow as Black*Star gave chase. Robin and Ace though were struggling to keep some sort of memory of the creature in their minds.
When the last of their memories seemed to fade from their minds they each cast each other a look convinced that something important had happened but not sure what exactly. It was then that Ace’s eyes landed on the open sharpie in Robin’s hands and pointed to it, apparently Robin had written one last note to herself in her haste to remember. Blinking a few times Robin looked down at the pen before putting the cap back on and then slipped up the sleeve to her jacket to inspect what she had written. It turned out that it was just one word, or rather a name, that was hastily scribbled. Upon reading it a frown came across Robin’s face. She wasn’t the smartest person in the world, far from it actually, but she did know some things and this was starting to make a lot more sense. Looking down at Ace she gave him a grin feeling a bit more confident, she knew what they were dealing with now and even if she was still scared at what it could do she was sure that Black*Star had the right idea now. “Come on Ace, let’s chase down Black*Star and then we will teach the one that is making us forget a lesson together!” With that the two of them took off after their teammate.

They ran through the forest following the sounds of the chase Black*Star was giving the other and the path of destruction. Once or twice they saw the distinctive glow of Black*Stars Dragon Dance as he gave chase. The two of them were determined not to get separated though, Ace certainly could run a lot faster than Robin and probably catch up with the two of them but he wasn’t going to leave Robin behind. As they ran they noticed that Black*Star seemed to be getting closer, or maybe the two of them were slowing down as they could now catch actual glimpses of the Totodile and a few yellow streaks through the trees of what had been messing with them.
There was a loud cry as Black*Star seemed to catch the other by clamping his jaws on it. The creature did not seem to be too happy with that as it cried out and blasted the Totodile back sending him crashing back into Robin’s arms. The startled trainer caught the water starter just as Ace launched himself forward and blasted the pokemon with a burst of fire from his Ember attack. Now that he remembered what they were fighting he wasn’t so afraid anymore. The Monferno landed next to Robin as she put Black*Star back down on the ground. The three of them glared determinedly at the yellow pokemon that was struggling to get up.
“You can’t escape us now Hypno!” Robin challenged. The name she had scribbled on her arm seemed to almost burn as she named the pokemon before them. It seemed like the yellow pokemon placed a hypnotic spell on anyone who saw it to just forget he was ever there while he stole from unsuspecting/forgetful trainers. We he wasn’t going to do that to them!
The Hypnosis pokemon picked itself up off of the ground and leveled a glare at them. This was the first time it had been caught in its act since it had managed to trick its way over here. The smart psychic pokemon had snuck over to a region that was unfamiliar to its species so no one would even think of them if they did manage to get suspicious. It had been living the easy life as king of the nights in Eternia forest until this girl and her two pokemon had decided to get clever and write down notes on it when they saw it. No that wasn’t totally it, they didn’t seem to be that smart, someone must have sent them in here and told them what to do. Either way he had to escape before this trainer chased him out of the forest. Lifting up his pendulum he started to wave it back and forth concentrating his psychic energy into a confusion attack.
While Black*Star and Ace might not be familiar with this kind of pokemon Robin sure was. Goldenrod city was surrounded by Drowzee and every kid had lessons on how to deal with these tricky pokemon. For once Robin knew something more than her team did and she was going to use it! “Ace, Black*Star, I need to you to dodge it is going to use confusion!” Both of Robin’s pokemon leapt out of the way, though the attack did manage to hit Black*Star sending the small pokemon flying into the soft forest ground. Ace though managed to easily dodge with his superior flexibility and he got himself ready to blast the other with another wave of flames when Robin stopped him. “Don’t burn down the forest Ace! Use your Taunt instead! We don’t want him to hypnotize us again!” Inwardly Robin was impressed with herself for remembering what her master Tony Tony had said about pokemon with a lot of buffing moves.
The fire starter was a bit confused at the request and the fact that he had to use his least favorite move. Still he listened to Robin and halfheartedly pulled a face at the Hypno. It was a good thing that the move activated even if Ace wasn’t very good at taunting people, it probably wouldn’t last very long though. Still it was long enough for what they needed to do.
“Great job! Ok Black*Star,” Robin glanced over to make sure that her pokemon was up and ready to go again. As always she was happy with her pokemon’s determination as he looked more than ready to attack. “Ok let’s hit him with your Bite attack!” If she remembered correctly Psychic types like Hypno didn’t like being hit with dark moves! “Ace, do your best to keep that Hypno in one place! I don’t want Black*Star to miss!”
The Hypno was not happy at all with this situation! It seemed like the girl had some experience dealing with his kind of pokemon. He was even less happy at having more than half of his moves blocked by that stupid Monferno’s taunt. The Hypnosis pokemon did it’s best to dodge the oncoming freight train of pain that the Totodile had become with all those Dragon Dances. That didn’t go quite as well as planned as suddenly he found himself with his back full of an angry and very distracting Monferno who was happily using him as a scratching post. Reaching up he grabbed the fire pokemon and managed to toss him away just as he felt the Totodile impact into him and clamp his razor sharp teeth onto him. He gave out a howl of pain as he fell back onto the moss covered ground and blacked out for a moment.
