The use of the word rape for things like culture rape makes perfect sense to me. And this is from someone who was raped.
The usages of rape I don't like are similar to the ones in geek culture, where they use it in the same way we use the word pwned. I.e. a person in a video game scores a ridiculous, utterly crushing victory over another and says, "oh snap, I totally raped the s**t out of your forces." It's probably because the word rape is being used in a positive or wanted light and that's not a good thing at all.
That's ******** up to me. But when you're talking about a serious and bad violation (which includes culture rape, plundering, sexual assault, etc etc), it makes perfect sense and doesn't really trigger me or anything.

Celeblin Galadeneryn Bastemhet TeaDidikai Bastemhet How do you define rape if not simply the physical act of sexual violence on someone without their consent? Hit the dictionary. That's one of several accurate definitions. OK, my bad, that was a "no, duh" moment. Huh. Dictionary.com 4. an act of plunder, violent seizure, or abuse; despoliation; violation: the rape of the countryside. I wonder if this is a perversion of the original definition or whether this use of the word existed concurrently? No, the sexual violation one is the perversion. The original definition is an act of plunder. The word comes from the Latin rapere, to seize. It's why when authors talk about the rape of Europa and other figures, they don't always mean she was sexually violated. This is one of the reasons why I refuse when people tell me to stop using it to refer to things other than sexual violation. They're the ones using the perversion of the word. Not me. Rapere was only very rarely used to mean sexual violation in Latin, and according to etymologyonline.com, Rape didn't gain that connotation until sometime in the 1400s and since it's a near port of the Latin, that's thousands of years of word usage before sexual violation really comes into the picture. Thanks Celeblin. This does change things.

I really wish I can have one conversation with her that doesn't involve a shouting match with no one being heard, then my swallowing bitterness for the next hour.

we were gonna take him to the vet last week, but he started prancing again and eating and my mom just could bring herself to take him when he was feeling happy and acting more like himself over the past couple of days he got much worse and she said she just couldn't watch him hurt anymore. it was a very bittersweet day.

How did you go from "Good, he's coming over so we can discuss how much we want for the car" to "He took the car without handing over any money and we never even SPOKE to him."
What you did was ILLEGAL.
You took our property and gave it to someone else and didn't even have the honesty to tell us he took it.
We wouldn't have even ******** known if it hadn't been for his sister!
Then you act all defensive like we're the ones who wronged YOU. Then you don't even have the guts to give us a call back to own up to what you did?
You have 48 hours to right what you have wronged or we call the cops. Hell, I'll call them myself. Thank the Gods we kept the goddamn title throughout your protestations.
