Middy: Would you like to change the color of the text? Or would you like to make it disappear? I can show you the code for either. Or, if you want only some to disappear, and some to change color, let me know.~

And what books? I'm willing to try anything to learn. i enjoy seeing the outcome ater i've put effort into some form of coding ^_^
EDIT: no change to the text colour, unless i placed it in the wrong place..does it need to be somewhere in particular? sweatdrop

Ohhhkay I'm a moron. I finally understand what I'm looking at here. XD I can change the header and my fake avatar but they're supposed to be one image. Gotcha.
Kari & Alex: Actually I mean the grey that's behind the Hogwarts shields. Well...actually...what shields? All I see are two golden banners, one at top and one below. Behind that is a huge grey rectangle. *goes to look again and refresh* Maybe my browser is just being silly.

Kari: ...okay, I see the shields. The avatars cover them up for the most part so I just didn't notice them. But I see from Alex's screencap that the background is in fact either clear or black for him, at least.
What I see is the shield and then a big pale grey rectangle. ^^; There's also pale grey "filler" in the section headers.
...why am I seeing this? >.>
