Evilweirdo 0 1.This is setting off alarm bells in my head... That often means that a game is too combat-oriented. Either that or it's just modern game difficulty reduction in action. 2. This, but gameplay helps. On a random note, I just finished FFX-2 yesterday. It wasn't bad, actually. You could avoid the battles if you wanted to...just don't get caught by your enemies. You don't have random battle encounters in XIII at all. Though as far as I could tell, you don't earn Gil through battles. 2. I do like the fact that you could shop for items and such at save points. I enjoy the gameplay so yeah. :3 I like how the characters speak in the background while you walk around. XD

Do you get Gil through loot a la FFXII, a salary like in FFVIII, or what? I like Crisis Core: FFVII's shopping system. Better yet, shopping in FFVIII with the Tonberry GF! On a random note, have you played FFXII? I found that it had relatively little in the way of storyline... And the "main protagonist" hardly had any spoken lines. In my mind, Balthier truly is the leading man!

My sister has it, though she didn't like the battle system very much.

The tear drops slowly, making its way through the thorns There was pain in the air, the thorns shifted about The tear kept itself safe, bearing the pain still Cuts on flesh, blood dropping on the rose petals The tear suffered by itself, suffering alone for that one time It wanted itself to be safe, it wanted its journey to end But pain struck it down, heart break kept it on track It had to continue on, nothing to turn back to May the heart of the tear forever hold, not wanting to fade away The tear held itself true, kept its heart in one No rose petals wilted and overcame the tear Its journey neared the end, as it took its form The tear took its shape, chose its new heart The tear grew from the pain, the torn flesh healed Now the Rose petals It held onto grew into a new Finally it opened its eyes, making new tears May that tear finally know, that it has helped itself become one From one the tear new, there would be another That other appeared so, another tear with something new The rose was faded black, the heart was stained with remorse That tear's flesh was torn, harmed from pain From the first tears heart, and the others pain, May they help themselves to one another May the be, one whole rose again.
.......I'm bored......and random...... Have you heard of Shiki? Well it has an awesome soundtrack. I'm still listening to it <3

50 K Down the Drain Haha @Azura: Get my as* back in? NEVAAAR!!! *Runs to hide for another month or so.* *Tackles and hogties you to a manatee.* mrgreen Cinkel Anon Also, I ride my Rapidash to the Mushroom Kingdom in order to escape the horde of zombies and win the heart of the muffinman's sister's puppy. Is that not better achieved by riding Pinkie Pie to the rainbow salt flats to summon the Purple Monkey Dishwasher Bug Noodle Badger Army to follow you to the Mushroom Kingdom and trample the horde of zombies? O:killer1164 Oh yeah, have you guys heard of the Bongcheon-Dong Ghost comic? Is that the one that has a jump-scare with sound? I HATE JUMP-SCARES but my curiosity got the better of me when a friend showed me a link and aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh.
Suffice it to say I ended up screaming obscenities at my monitor for the next several moments. Okay, THAT is awesome. xd

@Azura: That's cruel and unusual punishment...For the manatee. Haha. ~ Ah, FFX-2 and FFXII. I refuse to play FFX-2. FFX had a perfect bittersweet ending. I'd rather leave what happens next to the imagination. And I hold disdain for FFXII for the exact opposite reasons I do FFXIII. FFXII is just too frikkin' huge of a game. Its world is MMOesque in size with a plethora of sidequests to conquer, so its easy to get distracted from the main quest. I enjoyed its battle system, though, but not its story. And yes, Evil, Balthier is a beast. And so is Fran. Pun intended. On a subsequent note, Rabanastre Downtown is one of my favorite FF songs eva.

@Azura: Of course. Pinkie Pie. Such an obvious solution, but I missed it.
@Final Fantasy: FFXII is a pretty long game. I have yet to beat it, but I like the story so far. Love the battle system. It was an interesting attempt. Balthier is always the leading man. Even here in this guild.
Never had the chance to play FFX-2. Didn't even know there was one. XD
I still prefer Chrystal Chronicles. The first one. The rest are okay. Even though it's different from the usual FF it's would be considered my favorite.

It's a mana-tee! Aselia's energy crisis is solved! Sirea Angelie And no, I haven't played FFXII. I ought to though. My sister has it, though she didn't like the battle system very much. It plays too much like an MMO for my tastes (there was almost always need for a character casting a variety of Cure, and I often ended up with just one person attacking at a time... Am I just bad at gambits? Maybe not, since people were KOd a lot anyway...). I can't say I like the MMO-like direction that the series is going in. There's a reason I can't stick with one for long... On a gaming note, what to do next... I can't play FFIV Complete yet because my sister is still using the PSP for Final Fantasy VIII and sometimes Dissidia... Hmm... I'm doing the civil war quests in Skyrim, but what to do after that? Maybe give Shining Force another whirl? Actually make progress in Tales of Phantasia? Hmm... 50 K Down the Drain Haha I refuse to play FFX-2. FFX had a perfect bittersweet ending. I'd rather leave what happens next to the imagination. And yes, Evil, Balthier is a beast. And so is Fran. Pun intended. It was a good ending, and I had mixed feelings about the fact that there was a sequel. However, since there was a sequel, I played it, and it was fun. It just wasn't as amazingly emotional as FFX. Indeed. It took me a good while to complete, and I hardly did any of the Marks. I didn't even care for its battle system, and it didn't feel as "Finally Fantastic" to me (was it the lack of Gackt? Who knows?). It wasn't a bad game, but it's far from my favorite one. Balthier was the favorite character of both me and my sister (who sometimes watches me play these things). He's pretty awesome. Fran is okay too, since she actually has some spoken lines in the game, unlike a certain protagonist. This may seem irrelevant, but I was amused by the fact that her third Quickening was essentially Diamond Dust. And another thing! The Quickening system was kind of strange... It consumed a lot of MP and was potentially very weak (anyone ever done an amazing 1-hit Quickening? It's disappointing.), and each go could potentially take a few minutes because of the animations. I think I prefer Limit Breaks, thank you. Cinkel Anon Balthier is always the leading man. Even here in this guild.
Never had the chance to play FFX-2. Didn't even know there was one. XD Naturally. You're not missing anything critical, but it's interesting.* *You can laugh about how strange the beginning is, and there is some more development with Wakka and whatnot. Whoa, that was quite the post. Maybe I should become a critic. ...Whoa, just kidding! I'm not mean enough for that.

Ah yes, I oughta get FFIV Complete. I've beaten the SNES version, though I haven't played the sequel. I have yet to play I-III, V, VI, & XII. And yes, you oughta be a critic. Perhaps a gaming critic? ninja

Perhaps a gaming critic? ninja Indeed. All righty, here's my own rundown of main games I need to do... PSP version of I (the NES version has scared me off), III, IV (in possession, not played yet), V, VI, IX, XIII. I'm not going to bother with XI or XIV, since they're MMOs with monthly fees, if I remember correctly. Perhaps a nostalgia critic. ninja Actually, nah, because nostalgia critics are like immortals. There can only be one, and I would get my head cut off and thereby waste my life. Did I even use "thereby" correctly there? I don't know.

Brownie Points go to Paw for doing a King's Quest V Let's Play. xd

@Cinkel: I've only played the original CC and The Crystal Bearers. Have you played The Crystal Bearers? I enjoyed it, but I think the one thing that would have made the game better is if they gave you a sword to go along with those psychic powers. Then it might have ended up as one of my favorite Wii games. But even without the sword, it's still an enjoyable experience. A fun, interactive world to explore with a surprising amount of worthwhile minigames tossed in, plus likeable characters and a memorable soundtrack make the game worth at least one playthrough. Which is what I gave it.
~
@Sirea: Sorry for not responding to your post earlier. Anyways, I agree with Evil. Story is good and all, but I'd rather have good gameplay to go along with it. Not to say FFXIII didn't have good gameplay. It just, like I said before, had too much of a specific good thing. Also, random encounters > controlled encounters.
~
Evil: Also, I didn't like the whole Yuna becomes a J-Pop star aspect, haha. And only three playabe characters, with Wakka not being one of them? No thanks.
Gackt? Yuckt. (c wat I did thar?)
See, this is what I was talking about. I played FFXII for 30-40 hours before I quit it, but I didn't even get to the point where you get your first Esper. Too much to explore, too many townsfolk to talk to, and too many damn sidequests, dammit! Haha.
I think you'll really enjoy FFIX. It has a decent if not cliched story, but it also has an amazing cast of characters easy to fall in love with.
I couldn't get into either FFIV or VI. Too old school for my tastes. (Even though I absolutely love Chrono Trigger)
~
Well...Since we're all on the subject, what are yous guys (purposely spelled that way, just fyi) favorite Final Fantasies?
Mine, of course, is FFVII. I don't mind being one of "those guys", cause immensely overrated or not, it's still an incredible game. Then comes FFX, followed by FFVIII, and finally FFIX. I wouldn't consider any of the other FF games to be a favorite of mine.
~
Man, this is the most I've contributed to this guild in well over a year.
It feels terrible. Lol.

That's a tough choice there. FFIV was like the most nostalgic game for me since it was the first of the series I've played when I was a kid, though at the time it was called Final Fantasy II when it was released for the SNES.
Though if I had to pick a favorite, it would have to be VII. It reintroduced me to the Final Fantasy series. Despite the graphics, it had a great story, awesome mini-games, great music, the whole nine-yards. I think it has to be the only game that actually got me teary-eyed over a death scene....Those who've played this game know would know what I'm talking about. Ever since that scene, said character's theme song gets me teary-eyed when it plays. I do wish that this game gets the remake it deserves.
