Ky Kwaii 1 guns-N-bloodyRoses Hi! I love my flute... and piccolo... but my flute more... *hugs flute* My friends and I aren't exaclty how you would expect to see a flute person. You would expect a flute person to be... well all giddy and peppy. We aren't like that at all. We always wear black (people calls us gotic emo kids but we hate labels) we do stupid stuff that others think is... not normal... You are not alone. People would label me as a punk rocker, I don't care. We flute players come in all colors and flavors, let them deal. dramallama Flavors... I like that! mrgreen

Alrisa13 I love flute. I only have three people in my section though and they are all my friends so it is prety cool. I also play piccolo. And my band teacher told us to name our instraments so mine are Frederick and Pete. It was fun so the class went around talking about their instraments in their names and we got funny looks xd Oh wow.. XD Sounds fun, my picc got named from my drum major friend, he was like hey you should call your picc Molly! Me: "what? like as in molly on the shore?" Him: "OMG YEAH!" Me: ".... mkay". o_o Somehow that name stuck. xD And if any of yall don't know Molly on the Shore by Percy Grainger, its got an INTENSE part for picc! Like, super awesome. It's all up in that super high range and its fast and pretty and augh, sorry I sound like a total freak. O__O;

i started learning flute about four days ago. it's alot easier than i expected. lol.
but that's prolly cause i've play clarinet for seven years and piano for three. i'm picking flute up really quickly, but i think clarinet'll always be my favorite.
((coming from the girl who calls her clarinet her baby. lol.))

yup, i'd have to say. . . the flute is my favorite. I've been playing flute for six years now. *la la la love it!* So, how's that for a band geek. . girl that sit's next to me in our symphonic band named her flute. . some really odd name like beatruce. She's wierd. She likes to think about stuff like bumble bees being purple. ummmm, yeah, WHat do you think of a name for my beaten up, been in the repair place about ten times with severe injuries, cleaned with silver cleaner and molded flute? hehehe just kidden. but what name would you give it?

rofl I have a funny story.
Okay, so my BD wasn't in school today, and when he's abscent, the Drum Majors and other seniors conduct the band. Well, while one was conducting, he kept going in slow 2/4 when we were supposed to be in a faster 4/4, and everyone got lost. He didn't even notice when about half of the band stopped playing and started giving each other confused looks. So, the only tuba that was still playing finally gave up and played a part of "If Only I Had a Brain" from the Wizard of Oz (another piece we're playing). The guy directing finally noticed that no one was even playing anymore, and everyone lost it! rofl

We flute players come in all colors and flavors, let them deal. dramallama I wear black and chains and skateboard shoes, have had my hair pink and purple in the past, reasently choped off all my hair and dyed it blue-black and I'm 5th chair in my school's top band, and our band's rated tenth in the state of Texas. Yeah, I blow all stareotypes out the window when it comes to flute players. AWESOME *whispers* srry I am sadly labled as a emo/punk/goth/freak/band geek.... really wierd.... i dont like all the lables... but whatever

Ascend I'm a flutist, too, though I prefer the trombone. ^^;; Sorry! Keltzy, all the flutists in my band are snooty, too. XD They're either pretty asians with boyfriends or guys that are presumed gay. confused WoW ME TOO! Weird. . .

@_@; District Three Solo and Ensemble Competitions is coming up! Gah! What am I doing online?!?
I'm playing J.S. Bach's Sonata in Eb Major, the first two movements... I stink at timing and rhythms, so it's toughie for me...
