Shinigami decided it was time to update his master on the events of this world. He looked over at the Japanese female Vampire one last time before he summoned up a good portion of his energy. He closed his eyes, and focused. His shadow moved from the ground, and and formed into a gaseous looking energy, and rose from the ground, next to Shinigami, and collapsed into itself, and then it was silent for a moment, before an explosion of dark shadow and electricity lit up the area around him. The explosion sent a shockwave of wind soaring into the surrounding area, and the portal was revealed. Wind sucked into the portal from everywhere, and screams of the damned could be heard from inside the portal. He did not wait long.

He stepped into the dark fiery abyss that was visible inside the portal, and then dissapeared from sight, leaving the portal to slowly get brighter and brighter, until it collapsed into itself like a dying sun. Then, there was silence.

Shinigami would return.

Layna wasn't sure quite what to do. Despite what was going on, she took it as calmly as anything else. Things happened, then they passed, that was it. But Layna was deeply troubled and worried about Meredith for a reason she couldn't even fathom. It was a sense of common companionship, similarities. They both hated Ceon, that made them allies against him, which made them friends. That was all Layna wanted.

She groaned, wringing her hair for a moment, before she took off after the scent that she knew as Meredith's and Veroen's.

Alasdair

PostPosted: Sat Mar 07, 2009 12:13 pm

It took Alasdair an instant to withdraw what power he had lent to Veroen. It was true that he was not able to manipulate the void with his borrowed power, but it would make Veroen's power lessen. It was obvious that Veroen's ability to manipulate the void to that extend relied on his anger, and Alasdair could out manipulate the darkness.

That was why the vampire did not break a sweat with Veroen, it was not his intention to fight his new enemy. Alasdair would not bother with Veroen, he would deal with him if the time arose. But for the time being, Alasdair would not bother with the former assassin. It was the reason why Alasdair did not move when Veroen tried to attack him. In fact, he knew that Veroen would back away - they were to close to his puppet master.

After Veroen vanished and so did the demon, the former with a much flashier exit. But the park was now pretty much empty, except for his former comrade. Alasdair was very much pleased about the outcome of the night. He might have lost a comrade, but he regained a former.

After the air was cleared of all tension, Alasdair turned on his heels and made his way towards the ever lastingly beautiful Hideyo. As he walked, he moved his hand to the back and holstered his weapon in its rightful place on his waist. The vampire only needed a few steps before joining the small vampire by the tree. "It's such a shame what we have been forced to do to this city." The vampire whispered softly as his violet eyes slowly gazed at the battle battered tree.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 07, 2009 4:47 pm

It was rather clear the tree was no longer receiving nutrients and it no longer possessed any green leaves, all had fallen off and yet the skeletal structure of the tree, it's essence, the roots and trunk were still there as evidence. The Japanese woman's expression was non-existent but as Alasdair approached her and stood beside her she laid one of her hands on the tree and one hand on Alasdair. As an empath, Hideyo was able to glimpse surface feelings and thoughts and she was able to transfer feelings and memories to help others in understanding. She was transfering the tree's sadness to Al, making him understand, letting him know that not only the moving beings that made noise could feel and have thoughts.

A moment later the vampiress' hand fell away from Al but her dainty hand remained on the tree a bit longer before she finally turned away from it and softly whispered with her eyes closed, in reverence, "Namo amida butsu ..."

Her prayer was a prayer for people recently deceased and it was supposed to send them to paradise and assist them in their journey. Even though the tree was perhaps not moving or could not speak, it possessed a soul all the same if one listened closely enough to address that fact. So many, throughout the years had forgotten the imortant principles and bonds between nature and man. The vital bond, the co-dependence.

"The world is such a sad place now, brother. So much greed, so much vanity, so much disrespect. We are dishonouring our ancestor's memories by what we have become and yet we've lost the capacity to care or remember our ancestors ... In losing our honour and dignity we have severed our bonds to our ancestors through time." She bowed to the tree and her countenance appeared melancholoy and her demenor gave off the impression she was about to shed tears.

Alasdair

PostPosted: Sat Mar 07, 2009 6:45 pm

Alasdair stood motionless while the woman placed her delicate hand on his arm. At first, he did not know what she was going to do but he knew that she had always been very spiritual and caring towards everything around him. It was always interesting to be around that beautiful specimen for an immortal. When the woman fell silent once again, he began to feel the tree. Alasdair felt immense pain and sadness as the tree laid almost dead before them.

Alasdair was no stranger to Hideyo's special abilities and moments. He knew that the woman was very spiritual when it came to the environment and the ancient traditions. For the most part, Alasdair followed her along.

"We are living in an era of excess and dishonour. The mortals don't care about traditions or the spirit of nature. And we immortals are subconsciously adapting to the modern times. We are mere travelers through time Hideyo." Alasdair replied to the woman with a soft whisper and an all knowing and solemn mien.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 07, 2009 9:23 pm

Hideyo solemnly nodded her agreement, bowed to the tree once and turned to face Alasdair, opening her eyes and looking up at him, holding her arms at her side though they weren't dangling they were held there attentively. She was contemplating something and so silence between them was introduced though neither required constant chatter in order to "Mmmmm. That we are, tomodachi. There is a great imbalance that urgently requires immediate correctional action. It is most refreshing, however, to see that time has not completely moulded you into a stranger, Alasdair-san. You've not forsaken your ancestors as so many have. Do not forget yourself as you travel through time, though, for time likes to take us on abrupt turns and enjoys throwing us into situations we've had yet to encounter. Time tests us. However, I'm certain you've enough wisdom to not be lead astray. Faith is all I can have in you. Though crucial aspects of the past have been forgotten by many there are those who will always remember."

"Time seems to have been kind enough to you, though I'd expect you to make nothing less of forever. It is good to see you again. I trust time has only lead you to hone and perfect your skills that were already exceptional." She flashed her dazzling smile, the one that was genuine. She was truly happy and grateful that Alasdair and her had been reunited, surely fate had something in store for them. "I do believe our meeting here was not coincidental, fate brought us together and interconnected our paths so that we have been reunited once again. We were a formiddable force in the past but what of the future I wonder?"

Hideyo was a fighter and from her statements made previously it was fairly obvious that she was itching for a fight. Of course, she would not partake in a senseless battle and she needed a cause to fight for, a reason before she could fight. To fight without reason was akin to dying with utmost dishonour. She would not disrespect her family by soiling their name with senseless blood shed. All her life she'd been a warrior, a mercenary, a fighter but never once had she killed without reason. The reasons were not always just or kind but they were reasons nonetheless. For peace, for change, for food, for land, for beliefs, because of contracts. The list went on.

With the ensuing conflict that was a rising Daiguren had vanished. The demon gone to who know where.

{{I hate making posts this short. I have no idea when i'll be on and what not so Daiguren is in seclusion somewhere. No one knows where but he'll be back}}

Alasdair smiled softly as Hideyo turned to face him, looking beautiful and traditional as ever. The male vampire listened intently as the woman replied to him, with her tender and melodic voice that always made Alasdair feel at peace. If the vampire where ever to meet his demise, then he would want Hideyo by his side - to be at peace at his final moments. Alasdair respected Hideyo to no end, and he was beginning to remember why he enjoyed her company so much all those centuries past.

As the woman spoke, Alasdair's gaze turned to afar. Contemplating the beauty of the trees, even if they were ravished with destruction. Then, when the woman paused, his violet hues quickly returned to see the small vampire before him. Alasdair was still smiling.

"I believe so too Hideyo. We are not together again because of mere coincidence. I have been observing the world within this city, and what I see disgusts me. There is no order, no tradition, no respect. I will declare myself elder of this city and take control. Vampires will be respected again, I will bring forth a golden age for immortals." Alasdair replied to the woman in a soft and calm voice. His eyes were looking directly into the female's beautiful eyes, he wanted her to know how serious he was about his conviction.

To die beside Alasdair at arms would be a most honourable death to her for he was more than worthy to stand beside and he proved himself honourable time and time again on the battlefield and off. To have Alasdair as an ally or accomplice was an honour in itself and to stand beside him now and speak to him again was very invigorating. Of course they did not talk of the missions to come as they had in their youth but speaking of battles to come and causes to fight for they were. Of course it was undertoned and not flat out discussing it but merely mentioning it would come to something some day one way or another.

"This city reeks of dishonour and disrespect, indeed. Perhaps it is time there is an intervening force and what better place to start than in one of the most powerful countries of all time in its largest and most populated city? If one can reintroduce respect perhaps this world will get somewhere and perhaps lives will not be wasted so senselessly. Hm ... how does one gain respect when one has not been given the chance to earn respect? If you demand respect from these mortals that will not give you a chance are you planning to issue force and manipulate them with fear? Can lessons truly be taught by issuing force and pursuing ones fears?"

The doll-like vampire seemed to dive into a world of her own thoughts and her questions became philosophical and practical at the same time. Instead of listening for Alasdair's answer, however, she began contemplating her own response to that. However, she might have to meditate on the matter before coming to a decision on this matter, after all, it took a long time to think about so it would take a long time to answer. The world was not so simple as people seemed to think, everything was and still was interconnected one way or another.

(( My turn to apologize for the delay. ))

Aiden was completely unaware of the fact that she'd been shot by means of attempting to satisfy her craving but had he been there would have been a heavenly smirk of amusement seeping into his features. Upon her innocent little smile fading at his question, however, it was his turn to return the smirk to her though his was not likely characterized with innocence since she'd caught glimpses of his blackened soul. After a few moments, though he dropped his grin and instead chose to patiently observe her with unvoiced amusement and interest. It was interesting to watch her, particularly her face since she tended to make unique little facial expressions she seemed unaware of at times. They were what truly characterized her as opposed to the facade she hid behind. However, fronts were perfectly fine with him. She wasn't comfortable with herself, that didn't bother him by any means. She was free to be uncomfortable with herself or with him all she wanted.

"Oh ... there are endless possibilities of the things I could do, dear Cosette but a particular plan all for you? I don't think I know you well enough to make one of those yet and seeing as you aren't an intended victim ... I doubt I would do such things to you. However, there is always a loss of self where I may just let loose and in doing so accidentally sputter your flame of existence one way or another."

Aiden wasn't one to particularly believe in codes of conduct or rules when it came to fighting. As far as he was concerned it was survival of the fittest and if someone, such as Cosette, happened to be injured when he was seeking to kill then that was their mistake. He was not one to preach about honour or dishonour, it was nonexistent to him and there was simply animation and deanimation for him. Of course he wasn't quite that black and white, being an artist he saw a bigger picture but he did not follow rules, guidelines or any sort of honour system because they were just so ... predictable. He preferred to keep on his toes by not only changing things up once in a while but by simply following through with occasional impulses he got such as ripping Cosette's hair from her pretty little head and watching her shriek. He had no plans to do so now but perhaps another little girl would come along and tempt him to do so all the same. One never knew.

Goblin
(( Didn't see your post.))
That playful and excited little smile slipped from her lips in one flicker of a second. Her cheerful mood diminished at the reality of her situation. Wasn't that the exact same line she played on Stan when he invited her over?He can't hold her responsible for what took place when Stan had simply let her through his front door fully knowing the possible outcomes. Of course, He hadn't exactly seen it the same way and he had been a little more than just upset when Cosette's normally very developed control wavered. Now, She was put in the exact same position as Stan had earlier been, How ironic was that. But she didn't have a choice, she wanted to be home and safe under the cover of her fancy little apartment. Cosette was beyond the point of caring just how or who got her there. Even it was a strange, bi-polar and probably dangerous vampire that most likely had alterer motives in assisting a young lady.

“And what would you do?” She started, stepping away so that she could look up at him and clearly state her point. “Do tell me, What could I possibly have that you would be so tempted to take from me once we are behind doors? I'm a weak, young little thing. My blood would be of little use and any talents of mine are unchanneled and rather clumsy. So really, If you have other intentions, Better that you state them now so I don't end up laughing at you for tryings something sly later on.” She held her smalls hands out at her sides to demonstrate just what a helpless creature she was, especially with a bloody bullet wound in her leg. If he attempted anything while she was injured, Well; that would be just plain low.

((Daiguren if you interupt I will skewer you in a flash.))

Within the shadows of one of the greater trees a chuckle might have been heard, it was a delicate tone of musical quality. Light enough that the very wind break it. But it was there... and the body that it belonged to as well, as well as the peircing cold that now seemed to invade the green park.
"Oh how strange." the voice came. "It seems even those without breath can care for each other. I never understood that aspect of you. How can you care without a beating heart."
The voice of the musical tones belonged to a white man. Not only dressed in white but with skin frozen pale and long fair hair like fallen snow. He may have been a corpse left in a frozen tomb, with blue tinged lips and blue nails. The only thing to give evidence to his life were the shards of blue that were his eyes, alive, chilling, hollow.
A constant smile played upon the blue lips, it seemed as if the world was amusing to him and nothing more. Only the truly perceptive could tell that there was nothing behind the smile. No real happiness dwelled within the man. His heart was as cold as his eyes.
"I had been looking for a highly troublesome demon in order to put him down before causing more grief... But you... Alasdair... are causing problems for my sibling through association." He began walking towards the vampire male and the vampiress, frost spreading across the grass where his feet touched. Reaching into his long coat he pulled out a sword grip made of some pewter-like substance studded in runes. It was odd that the handle had no guard whatsoever, even stranger still that the blade attached to it was transparent, like it was made of glass.
"Because of your recent activities..." he said, spinning the strange blade and causing it to whistle in the air. "I need to make you suffer."

((I had hoped that someone would have gotten on before I had to leave for 9 hours. You may react, questions, comments, panic, etc.))
PostPosted: Wed Mar 11, 2009 3:54 pm

The voice that responded was not melodic but it was tranquil, wise, "How strange you resemble your sibling and yet seem to lack a heart yourself, shiloi no okami. I never realized that organs had anything to do with caring. Caring because you have a heart seems a rather ... broad ... statement for there are living beings who seem not to care but their hearts beat on. It's akin to saying I cannot care because I no longer possess a kidney, which seems rather senseless. Then again perhaps I've forgotten how to care, one can never be certain."

The Japanese vampire smiled kindly to him and bowed to show him respect, the display seemed to have absolutely no effect on her and she treated him as if he was simply any other passing by. Of course she did not take his threat idlely for it was clear he'd come with intentions as cold as his approach. There was a reason nature seemed off-put by this cold one's presence. And yet the vampire had not a hint of fear as she spoke, all too knowing that this wolf was very old and wise. Every movement made by the small Japanese vampire was precise and purposeful, no aspect of it was jerky, it was as if it'd been pre-coreographed for her.

"Hm ... If your sibling is the one troubled by Alasdair-san's recent activities where is he now? Is he not able to come speak for himself on his own behalf or is he perhaps too occupied at the moment? He could always arrange another time to speak or plan to annihilate Alasdair-san could he not? Sending his brother surely isn't the best he can do?" A single slim finger found its way to her chin as she gently stroked it in question, majestically propping her doll-like face to the side to take on a thoughtful pose.

Sibyl quickly scanned the park, searching for Jaden's scent which seemed rather faded and she decided that he'd left a while ago. The expert tracker quickly managed to pick his trail up again, though and she began following after it when she noticed the atmosphere of the park seemed to grow colder. That was when she looked up to see I'zale and Alasdair as well as a Japanese vampire that seemed rather strange but rather wise at once.

However, she didn't have time to stop and see what was happening and since she wasn't particularly fond of Alasdair she really didn't care if anything happened to him if he happened to upset I'zale. She was fairly certain that if I'zale fought the two he wouldn't require her assistance though there were rumours that'd been spread back when the city hadn't been broken that Alasdair's abilities rivaled those of vampire elders themselves. She wasn't certain if such talk was true but as for now this didn't concern her and she decided to mind her own business and continued following Jaden's trail.
