Layna did not know what drew her back to Central Park, let alone New York City. Pain and misery was all that occurred in the desolate city that held beings that thrived upon fear. Since leaving Ceon, her deserted and rather despicable husband behind almost two years before, she had been free to do what she wished. Life was good for her and her two children. They were well cared for with family at home, and she was free to run abound again. But she shivered. There was something not right this night under the shaded trees and withered grass.

She breathed in, feeling her senses tingle anew with the smells and sounds that fill the otherwise quiet park. This had been her home at one point, a sanctuary for her ravaged mind to hide within. Being back here was as wonderful as it was horrifying.

Prometheus smiled and let out a sigh of relief. "Yes, love, I'm here." He said smoothly. His hand stroked the back of her hair as the colors came back into her body. Her heart was beating, and it sounded unique. Profound. He bent down a little more and kissed her gently. He was warm, like most Lycans. Maybe she could feel it now. "How does it feel to be alive again?"

Kyo entered into the park. He looked around and sighed. So far he didn't know anyone in this city. Walking over to a bench he sat down, staring up at the sky.

Leelan's eyes flew open. She could feel his warm lips apon hers. She put her hand on his arm and gently griped him which wasn't must force sense her vampiric strength was gone. Leelan didn't have to be careful around people anymore. The warmth in her body started to come to her skin. Could Prometheus feel the diffenece in her body? Leelan looked up at Prometheus "Its wonderful to be alive agian. Thank you so much."

Prometheus felt her body heat, long returning at last. "Anything for you, love," He said. "Your welcome." He still held her close to him, stroking the back of her head. "So where do we go from here? I hear it's Wolf's birthday today..."

Leelan blinked a little. "Oh god that's right it is, and me being human is the greatest gift he could ever get. He'd be so happy about it." Leelan smiled brightly and her eyes lit up even more from being alive. Her bright, sparkling purple eyes. She leaned up and kissed his cheeks. Her lips were soft and warm instead of cold and hard as they were just a few hours ago.
"Now I know what love really feels like. My is skipping beats for you."

Meredith walked into the park with Veroen tailing behind her, both of them more than aware that if he'd wanted he would have no issue catching up to her within an instant. However, Eden loved to play all the same and her dazzling smile flashed, it wasn't dazzling in a mystic way that made her seem unatural, in fact, it was quite the opposite. It was a beautiful smile because it was a simple one that wasn't obnoxious and was just completely natural. It was a true smile, one of someone that was truly happy and living in the moment. Her smile held even as she finally decided to drop back and fall into stride with Veroen and took hold of his hand somewhat protectively but mostly because she just loved having him close.

((Sorry, Having issues writing.))

Did this guy sounds absolutely patronizing or what? Aiden was completely over playing the game, planting all sorts of flattery along the way. Cosette was trying to figure out just who the vampire was trying to impress with all his smooth talk considering she was the one that ought to be piling the sugar to every sentence in hopes to doing exactly what she wanted. She didn't quite understand, but she sure wasn't going to complain. He could boost her fractured ego all night long if he wanted, she sure as hell wasn't going to complain. It managed to put a smile on those full lips, if only because it was amusing to listen to all the ways he could compliment her and her regal status. He was making it easy, since she clearly wasn't in the mood to play her adorable act or lay on the charm to earn her way. Let Aiden do all the work, that would suit her just fine.
She was about to say something to him and inquire further about the void when her attention wavered from the vampire. Her hands in one swift unseen movement clapped over her ears a full second before the first cord was struck. The horrendous noise didn't have to travel far, the two very poorly strumming away on their guitars were way too close for comfort. It wasn't the unexpected noise that bothered her most, but the quality of it. Music had been Cosette's undoing in life, an obsession for playing the violin is exactly what placed the spoiled runaway into the hands of deadly vampire. Her name might very well have popped up in history if her near prodigy talent hadn't been snuffed out along with her life. She may have attempted to keep up with the ever changing music, but through out the decades, It only seemed to grow worse. Loud and pounding seemed to be the fad of this decade and Cosette would have no part in it. This nighttime serenade played out by a couple of dogs seemed to be perfect evidence of just how low music had fallen since her time.

It was so easy that Cosette could be distracted, nearly missing the offered hand because she was entirely focused upon the musical pair. She wanted them to stop. Cease that horrible noise by any means possible. There was the slightest little tremor of her slender fingers, evidence of an urgent need to crush something between her greedy little hands. Not only would she absolutely love to smash those instruments to smithereens, but to deliver the same punishment to their bodies. Squeeze until the bones would give way with sickening pops. At that very moment, Nothing would have thrilled her more. It was as she was rising to her feet with full intentions to do something about the noise that she looked down to see Aiden's offered hand, wondering how long he had been standing there ready to go.
Just like that, Cosette's mind swapped out and cooled to a slightly more civil demeanor. For the first time that evening, she flashed one of her dazzling little smiles; white teeth and fang, but cute as a button. She accepted Aiden's hand, assuming he would find somewhere with much less noise. Right now, just about anywhere but here would be just prefect.

(( I'm wish-washy at times too. No worries. ))

Aiden didn't really have a point or purpose to what he was doing, he just decided to play along and apparently he'd chosen to play along by showing her that he could be decent as well. This was a rare occasion where he actually genuinely found someone interesting and they weren't just a toy to him or someone to use in order to benefit himself and gain something he wanted. No. Cosette was something else aside from that but what exactly he had yet to figure out. However, he didn't really intend to figure it out and instead planned to live or not live in the moment and see exactly where this little vampire was going to take him. An adventure? She seemed promising enough for one of those. All in all something had him interested in her that made him willing to play her game and go along with a few things. She was certainly fortunate for that.

Being a little more open than Cosette, Aiden found he could tolerate certain kinds of modern music in short periods of exposure. He didn't particularly care for the loudness either since it mostly made the music sound careless and quite often songs of this age forgot that they were supposed to tell as story as opposed to just be there for noise. Silly effects were added as well and more than anything guitars seemed to reign throughout this age. It was nearly impossible to come across a popular song to this age that did not have a guitar in it and this slightly disappointed Aiden but he'd somewhat adapted due to the fact he'd suffered from exposure to it.

Aiden's golden eyes were trained better than an eagle's or hawk's and he spotted her beguiling smile even before it came. As opposed to looking at her smile, though, his golden eyes met her baby blue ones though they held absolutely no emotion or expression whatsoever, there was an absense of everything but nothing itself as he locked gazes with her. His flawless hand held her dainty one loosely so as not to harm the girl though he wondered whether they'd have to leave now or not. After all, the dog and pathetic excuse for a creature of the night had left them and with silence at that. The only other sounds he detected were far off murmurs of two silly lovers.

"Still wanting to leave? They graced us with their departure and the only beings remaining here aside from ourselves are a dim-witted couple."

(( Just in case you didn't see for all the posts happening in this thread though I'm sure it's more likely due to your troubles writing. ))

Veroen entered the park, not long after Eden did. He walked at a slow, even pace, like that of a human. He quickened his pace for a second, however, to catch up with Eden. Once the Vampire Assassin was next to the love of his life, he slowed his pace yet again, and resumed his conversation with her. "It's a pretty nice night..." he said thoughtfully, looking up into the night sky, More stars were visible tonight, and not as much light pollution filled the black sky. After a few seconds, he looked back to Eden, and a gentle smile revealed itself on his smooth ageless face.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 25, 2009 6:41 pm

Eden was practically prancing along like a child as she walked with Veroen, clearly elated to have him along with her for a simple walk, this, for whatever reason, probably meant as much to her as anything else that'd been said or done between them. It was funny and odd but it was the truth and she simply smiled her simple smile and swung their arms as she walked along with him. "Yeah. Pretty hard to believe that somewhere underground there are innocents being tortured because they aren't human when I'm sure some of them had no choice over the matter. It's just another sick form of racism. I understand if we take out vampires that kill humans and play with them for fun but some of them don't do that. People think I'm an idiot and solely judge them but it's really hard to be fair to everyone, you have to make the judgements yourself and decide what's bad enough that you should take a life to save one or leave a life kind of thing."

Her purple eyes looked over into Veroen's single red eye questioningly and then her words eventually followed, "When do you think New York will return back to normal? Do you think there will ever be a way for the vampires, lycans and demons to somehow fade back into their myths and fairytales like the humans believed before this huge media situation?" It was clear that she didn't like the idea of people being trapped underground even if some of them were the very monsters she hunted. Fact of the matter was some were monsters while others were innocents.

Veroen was silent for a moment, conjuring up a reply to her question. He kept his same even stride, almost as if he was floating. Vampire's always tended to walk with such elegance. "I think that eventually, it will. But until then I suppose that we have to deal with what is being thrown at us now. I can't really predict the future, but things will change, and they will change very soon...." he said, trailing off. "...for better or for worse, I have no clue, but I have a feeling things will escalate again, and it will be next to impossible to conceal our presence. I just have a bad feeling about what is happening..." he said, now a troubled look consuming his face.

He didn't know what it was, but something wasn't right now, here in the city. Malovent intentions were growing here, and Veroen could feel it. The small connection to the void was the source of this feeling, and he could tell that something wasn't right.

Meredith, walking next to Veroen, looked even clunkier than she normally did and managed to look less graceful than she already was. The only graceful thing she was really capable of was to play her instruments and beyond that she really didn't have a second clue how to go about being or acting graceful. Grace and Eden Jackson were simply two words that didn't appear together in a sentence without not rightfully separating the two. However, as they walked her face became earnest as she carefully listened to what her loved one was saying to her. She didn't particularly like the response she heard but she hadn't really been expecting a positive response and she was glad that he was being honest with her as opposed to sugar-coating what he was saying to her. He trusted she was mature enough to handle it and she was.

As they were walking, though, her solicitous eyes hastily glanced at Veroen and she tugged him to a stop, quickly pulling him close and into a hug partly so that she could whisper into his ear. "Don't you dare disappear or die on me ... Not you ... I had to deal with Reno dying and I had to deal with Tokeru trying to kill me but I can't handle something happening to you or you disappearing on me ... I love you, I want you safe and if I don't know if you're safe it'll drive me over the deep end. I know I sound retarded and needy but losing you right now just isn't an option and it's not something I can deal with. Please promise me you'll stay safe ... I know you can't promise you won't run into throuble or get killed or something but please promise to be safe."

Zero emerged from behind a large tree onto the main pathway. He licked the fresh blood off of his lips, not looking back at the scene he had created. His cloudy green eyes were staring off into empty space, never wavering even for an instant, not even to blink.

His long coat flowed in the slight breeze as he strode down the pathway. The glint of blades hidden on his belt shone in the darkness, as did the gleam of his fangs.

I knew there would be blood tonight he thinks to himself.

Veroen silently listened to her whisper words in his ear, words that truly showed that she was scared to lose him. He was taken aback by her sudden display of emotions towards him. His face was written with surprise for a moment, but then it quickly transformed into a serious expression once she was done speaking. He hugeed her close to him, and then whispered words of his own into her ear.

"You know I can't exactly promise too much...But I will promise that i will try to stay alive, just to be with you." He didn't say a large amount of words and sentences, but the words he did say were meaningful, and were proof that quality could be greater than quantity. He held the embrace, almost to the point where he never wanted to let go of her.

She hugged Veroen back, cradling his head with both her hands, one affectionately laid against his cheek, the other behind his head, her fingers tenderly brushing through his hair. Her eyes had closed, simply listening to the comforting sound of his voice and wishing to bask in the moment and appreciate the closeness it'd granted the two of them. "I'll keep you safe no matter what ... I've got your back always so if you ever need help of any kind you know who to shout to for it. I'm never going to be weak and stand aside watching you get hurt again ..." Her fingers trembled as they moved from his cheek and softly brushed across the eye patch that he now wore as a reminder of her failure to protect him, her purple eyes looking him over. "I promise you that."

After administering her own small promise to herself and to the vampire she loved more than anything else in the Godforsaken city of New York her purple eyes sparked and she cracked a tenderhearted smile. Her gloved hand affectionately brushed across his chilled cheek once more before grabbing his hand again and resuming their walk.
