Ryan had heard of it all, the FBI had gotten involved, people running amuck killing anyone out of they're own race. It disgusted him. Looking around, seeing groups of humans running around, it was almost enough for him to shake, but no. At a time of war he could not expose himself for a second. One thing he could not get off his mind, who got everyone involved in the racial war? Whoever it was, this person was bound to be hunted. Ryan turned around to a couple human males who came up and asked, "Hey you. Why aren't you lookin' for those wolf guys or them blood-suckin' freaks?" when the other said, "Joe you forgot them demon guys..." the one called Joe shook the third one off, "Anyway, why aren't you looking for them?" Ryan gritted his teeth, he wanted to tear they're heads off. But no, he replied, "Because, I'll let them find me." The humans nodded and walked away, Ryan looked at the rebuilt twin towers, far in the distance. He thought this was like the beginning of the war in Iraq all over again. Sighing, he continued his nightly stroll.

A Lycan woman walked along the dark sidewalks, her appearance oddly native in design, with her long black hair reaching to her waist in a loose ponytail. One hand was lightly hold a young boy's hand, his appearances reflecting his mother's clearly. He was long-limbed and lanky as he walked beside his mother, his eyes wide as he looked around the familiar and yet seemingly foreign surroundings. But there was one other thing. On her back, in a sling, nestled a little girl, black hair and her mother's careful protection shielding her from view. "Are we really back, Mother?" The boy asked. "Yes, Gabriel. It surprises even me that I'd return." Layna's smile was solemn and reserved, clearly remembering still the night that was imprinted on her mind like a hot iron mark. "What about...him?" Gabriel now asked, tilting his head upwards to look at his mother with clear grey-blue eyes. Layna paused, her steps faltering. "I'm not sure..." She whispered, before she continued down the sidewalk, jostled by the late night crowds.

Ceon stumbled along the sidewalk, almost falling into the street. He had let his hair grow long, and it fell like a silver waterfall down to his upper back. He saw the supermarket in sight, and smiled as he pictured hot food going into his mouth. It was then that he smelled something, it may have just been all the alcohol, but he could have sworn he smelled Layna.

Layna felt a shiver run up her spine, and she wrapped one arm behind her back to cradle the precious cargo there. Little Maria murred softly in her sleep for a moment, before falling back into silence. Layna smiled softly. Maria was a special child, learning quickly, but her eyes always held a sad spark. She sighed once more, and looked down at her son. "How about we find some dinner or something." Gabriel grinned widely, but then froze. Layna looked perplexed, before she raised her eyes to look in the direction Gabriel now stared with wide eyes. Ceon. Layna pulled herself backwards, trying to blend into the crowd more, trying to get rid of as much of her family's scent as possible.

"....Layna?" Ceon called out as he spun around multiple times, trying to track her scent, but the excess alcohol killed all chances of that. Stumbling around, Ceon left the sidewalk and into the busy street. Gabriel's hair caught the corner of Ceon's eyes, and he turned to run to him. But as he turned, a car smashed into his side, sending him flying into the car behind him.

Layna felt her stomach sink as Ceon was hit by the car, her breath leaving her lips as she saw him fly. She felt her feet move a few steps, but stopped quickly, her heart thudding in her throat. No, she couldn't do this again, not a replay of her past. Gabriel stared up at his mother, questioning.

Ceon felt one of his ribs snap like a twig between two hands as he smashed into the rear of the car. But for some reason, Ceon just kept going, despite the agonizing pain and terrible hangover. He stumbled still across the street towards Layna. People stepped out of their cars to try and help him, or at least to ask if he was alright, but he pushed them away and let out a deep growl.

Layna felt herself stepping backwards as Ceon continued across the street toward her, black her hiding her eyes partially, but still slivers of bright incandescent silver shone through. She felt a rumbling growl go up her throat, an arm wrapped lightly behind her back, protecting the small form hidden there. Gabriel kept close to his mother, his thin arms wrapped tightly around her leg as she stepped backwards.

Ceon's eyes were wide and hazy, his mouth in a sort of grimace from the increasing pain. He could feel the inside of his broken rib rub against the outer bone. He reached his arm out towards her, hoping she would help him. But within five feet of her, his legs gave way from lack of strength, and he crashed onto the ground. He was to weak to move, all he could do was look up at the stars and whisper, "I'm sorry..."

Layna stumbled slightly, her eyes wide, her heart pounding. She hadn't seen him in near a year. "C-Ceon!" She gasped. She heard a soft whimper, and felt herself freeze, her mouth pressed closed as she stared over at Ceon. Gabriel went toward Ceon, careful, his eyes bright. His hands were full of blue-ish energy. He pressed them against Ceon's chest lightly, allowing the energy to heal and draw together.

Ceon smiled lightly as his boy came over to him. "Gabriel.........my boy.....give me a hug...." Ceon said, reagining his breath back as he struggled to sit himself up. He took one of Gabriels hands in his and looked at him with his one eye. If only he hadn't fought Zarathose that one night, maybe he would have two eyes to use.

Gabriel yanked his hand back and went back to his mother's side, his expression exasperated. "Ceon..." She whispered softly, her face near unrecognizable, for it was no longer troubled or pained. Her eyes were bright with the warmth of what a mother always held in her eyes. She wasn't sure what to do, her heart hammering as it settled upon her, the memories.

Ceon lifted himself up slowly, and limped that last few feet over to the woman he still loved. He stopped right in front of her, unsure wether, to hug her, kiss her, or even just touch her. His eyes teared up and hugged her tight, "P..please....don't leave me again....*

Layna stared back at him, her expression worried. A soft whiffling noise was heard, barely audible, and then a whimper so soft, like a feather of noise. Layna stepped back, her arms wrapped behind her back protectively. She was shaking, her eyes wide, anxious. "Ceon..." She whispered, her voice calm.

Ceon's eyes widened as his hand brushed against the tiny head of black hair on Layna's back. ".........is.......is that..........my child?"
